  1. People don't hate them. That silly fool needs ways to get clicks and that's his approach. That said, it's just the titles. His viewpoints aren't as closeminded as the titles read. In short...fake news.
  2. Just for giggles, I paid $110 plus tax CDN in the summer of 1990 for NES Final Fantasy. It was very much dependent on the game. I can't believe that's what I paid, lol. Some were less, but nothing I ever saw was higher than that. For another 20 bucks you could get a control deck! And I bought it at a small box store. Not even sure which.
  3. Fantastic! Thanks for the share...I dont think Babbages made it to Canada, can somebody confirm? These are great pics, would live to see more.
  4. Woooooow...that is just horrible. Who in their right mind would subject themselves to such an experience? Gah.
  5. Kinda wondering...why would they offer the pre-order before they released the list of games that will be on it? Don't even think the Big N did that. Or maybe they did, but faNboyz are pretty strong with that company. Sonyboyz are similar? Intriguing.
  6. Speaking of XArcade?... keep in mind the best part is if you are the original owner, you have a lifetime guarantee. Just send them an email and they will replace your parts. I had a jack go bad and they took care of it. Even paid the shipping. I wouldnt call my sticks mushy but I never used them for fighting games either. If they felt different, I would get them replaced for free.
  7. The worst thing about these sock puppets s that some of their theeads are quite interesting. Like this one. I prefer Montezuma. But played both on CV. Fight me.
  8. Wonder if it wilp eventually replace the Switch models of now. Perhaps this Christmas then I will need to get on board...in case they remove some functionality for the better price point. But the truth is that our family still plays the Wii a lot and have many games to get to yet.
  9. Man, so envious of you who have real arcades to frequent! All we have is a Dave n Busters, about an hour away. I personally think the business model for a beercade is about the only way to make it profitable, which is somewhat unfortunate, but the demographic for these games is an older clientelle. I think booze can sometimes loosen me up for some games, but others I gotta be pretty straight to concentrate. Anybody remember that episode of My Two Dads where the dads got drunk and tried to play Pole Position? Think it was on a 7800, lol...good times.
  10. The problem is we're treating carts like comics. Very few of these have any real value. The only issue I see for these repro stickers are that they are not 100% replicas...and personally I would like to see them slightly less shiny. Actiplaque affects all Activision carts so its easy to see what is refurbished...but again, these aren't comics. The decision to do or not do is completely up to the collector. If the price is right, I will try this. I think the biggest PITA will be to properly align the new sticker, its never as easy as you think.
  11. Nor near me...but when they did back in the 80s, it was great. The dedicated games section went around...86ish? Sears has never been anything I would consider video games related other than re-branding of the VCS.
  12. What a bomb this was, played it a few times in the local games shop bitd. The graphics were too Gameboy for us, lol...but really, the colour thing wasn't as bad as the price they wanted for it...wasn't cheap at all. And it was never blown out on discount either in thise parts, so more or less it was just a big wtf moment. But that went to show you how much people wanted a 'VR' system...but weren't willing to cut the corners Nintendo did to have it. And we are only now getting to exploit VR the way we wanted to back then. Of course I would pick one up today, just for the novelty.
  13. 1 Chopper Command 2 Megamania 3 Spider Fighter 4 Demon Attack 5 River Raid
  14. Games list come out yet? Until that drops, I don't see anything worth talking about. But you guys carry on, get stuff done.
  15. Wow, that's gross. Looks about as 'quality' as I was expecting. I bet the plexi solution would cost more than the unit
  16. Me too. Best screen quality although small, best controls...shoulder pads not optimal due to size, oh well. If they made one at GB Advance size, woot!
  17. Comics were the best source of new game adverts back in those days, but can't remember double page spreads in them. Never saw this one before though...cool.
  18. I can't say I remember Jumping Flash...at all. I think that the games choice will be just as random as the Nintendo stuff...some heavy hitters, but also some wtf ones. I pray they don't include Gran Turismo...that game will play horribly sans analog sticks. RR4 will be sadly without as well...reminding me of the hell that was Ridge Racer using a DPad on early PS1. Not dealbreakers overall as I have played the shit out of GT, but...I would laugh if they included ALL Resident Evils for PS1!
  19. Now I would like to see that: somebody hitting a fly with a hammer. Probably harder than with chopsticks.
  20. Playing it on Wii, surprisingly was in the public library. Never played it before on any platform. Its...different.
  21. It's funny...go watch any smattering of retrotubers and they'll always...ALWAYS mention that they got their games at less than the going rate..."got it for five bucks!" , "I found this one for like ten bucks!" Some are sincere, and those are the ones who admit they paid going rate or higher for games they really wanted. It's like talking to a compulsive gambler (or stock trader)...they're ALWAYS winning, yet..it's statistically impossible. Oh well.
