  1. Amazing! What company is putting out these Williams inspired pins? Whoops...I see its Stern. Pinball just seems to be getting more and more popular these days. I won't question it, but it's great to see. A barcare opened up nearby and it has eight pins, some real classics from bitd. I finally got to play Medieval Madness!
  2. Does anybody have any reviews for the 1UP cleaning product line? Thinking of picking some up, particularly for the consoles that I can't easily remove the connector like the Genesis and Gameboy. I already own an original SNES console cleaner, and was considering the NES one but a few shifty reviews on Amazon are making me question its quality. As far as their cart cleaning cards, I'm ok with using qtips and high powered rubbing alcohol but the cards look faster and easier. Any advice? Thanks!
  3. Thanks. Of all the video options out there, I'm least familiar with RGB. Gotta read up.
  4. Sorry for my ignorance, but is it possible to get RGB from a Model 1 Genesis without any mods?
  5. Looks like they really cheaped out on shipping materials, quite a few complaints on the KS site. But it also seems like for every complaint, somebody else is quite happy. With a succesful KS campaign behind him you'd think he keep pressing the retro side of things...if all he wants to do is put already existing games in those shells, there's quite a few properties he could potentially get. But for me the bottom line is that neither of these two games had anything to do with the Coleco I remember, so other than the plastic shells, these are just novelties. Looks like not many here at AA picked these up, or maybe nobody felt like doing a review other than the recent one in the previous page.
  6. Keetah, never change. Tv dinners are on me next week! A dude once told me, even though I didn't believe him at the time, "Just because something is old doesn't mean that it isn't any good". He was particularly talking about vehicles and tools, but I've never forgotten it and to be honest, the older I get?...the more it proves to be true.
  7. Are the majoeity of these variations due to different factories in different countries? It just seems like a lot of changes made iver a relatively short period of time...I guess it's good to keep in mind that the industry was still new. Can you imagine games in the 90s era and onward having that many variants?
  8. Why not crack em open? Just one of those things?
  9. Looks like a great book! To save some shipping, is there any chance we can order Vol 1 but wait until Vol 2 is ready to ship with it?
  10. Hard to say but I would assume yes. Im going to pick one up tomorrow.
  11. They are all over the place in Ontario. At 150, they shelfwarmed like nothing else...and they had walls of them. At this discounted price, it seems they are moving...still, the included games aren't my cup of tea, so while I'm not 100% happy with it I will buy one for modding. There's plenty of PS1 gaming awesomeness that doesn't require analog sticks, but the rumble feature is something I'll miss in the games that featured cool gimmicks for them.
  12. Mike, this Cardillo business has been going on for some time. There are teams of folks who have the same love for the Coleco and its history as you do. If you have some product you want to develop, just go ahead and do it. You are absolutely right in one important regard: this will not be a money maker in any sense. People will be interested in your ideas and if there's one thing these fan groups for older syatems have in common, it's high hopes for new products. Just go ahead and build what you want to build, deal with whatever else comes when you have something concrete. You really don't have anything to lose that you admittedly weren't afraid to lose in he first place: time and money.
  13. I'm a retro gaming man with a retro gaming plan. Won't be getting on board. Now where did I put my wooden clogs....
  14. Hilarious idea! They must be good friends if they're 'game' for the punishment, though. I haven't done similar but we've sometimes held tournaments and the losers would have to listen to some horrible music all the way through...Leonard Nimoy's stuff works great for that.
  15. Thanks guys. Still not 100% sure I will bite but thanks!
  16. So it's dropped to 50 CDN, meaning it just may be worth buying. Is there a way to mod it and add games so that the original issues (PAL games, etc) aren't present? I realize the controllers aren't Dualshock so lots of driving games are out, but there's lots of fun games that don't require the analog sticks. What's the bottom line, worth it for modding? Esoecially at this clearance price? Or is the emulator itself garbage (who knows, is there a way to replace even that?) Or do I just stay far, far away regardless of price? Thanks guys.
  17. My issues are with an analig stick that is ever so slightly off centre...and I have had zero luck trying to taking it apart to swap it out with another stick. I've heard from others that working on PS2 pads are a real pain. I couldn't even get the controller open, I was scared of cracking something in the process.
  18. I'm not a TI Guy but MAN this is simply incredible! Fantastic work, well done!
  19. I was just thinking about this. What is THE most lag free smaller brand of tv that still allows component connections? Anybody have suggestions?
