BD Retro Mods Intellivision Arcade Stick
BigDumer replied to The Intellivision Gamer's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
On the controller guide it says that "the joystick is able to hit directional points, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 14." I assume they mean 15 and not 14. -
Ah, thanks for the correction - I misunderstood. That's still pretty cool.

Wow, I didn't know there was any blue painted label cart, let alone a backwards Tennis! I've been on the lookout for painted label carts for years but I have never come across a single one.
-
I have always assumed it's like the Stonecutters from The Simpsons, just with more tasteful nudes.

Based on my notes, there are only 5 copies of the Intellivision Inc. Math Fun manual known, and no cartridge or box has been found. Glad I'm only collecting CIB. 🙂 -

That's #10! Nice find! I thought the back of this one was interesting with the French cart label sticker placed there because the first one that was found also has this sticker on the back: It's probably a coincidence but does make me wonder if they put the French sticker on the back while they were boxing some of them. If we find a 3rd one then we can worry about it. -

I too will provide instant payment, then I will drive to their house within the hour and save them the hassle of boxing it up and shipping it. 😁 -

I was watching it too. That was quite the last-second jump. Two people really wanted it. Maybe one of those two people will need to sell a French Canadian Super Cobra to cover some of their costs. -

That is a nice trip out to Press Start! I usually leave there with a couple common Wii games and maybe an Intellivision loose cart label upgrade. -

Since one of these was just posted on ebay, I figured I should update this thread. Since my last update with 6 known copies, 3 more have been reported - though I don't have pictures of all of them: 1. BigDumer bought in a lot in Vancouver. Traded to Cmart604. 2. BigDumer spotted it on an old Facebook auction. Kamikazi26 tracked it down and bought from a pawn shop in Saskatchewan. Was then sold on IntellivisionCollector to Cellblock1138. 3. Kamikazi26 saw one on a maxsold auction in Toronto, buyer is unknown. 4. Kamikazi26 bought in a lot. Presumably he still owns it because...look at it...it's sexy! 5. BBWW bought on an etsy auction. 6. Cmart604 found in the Vancouver region. 7. Cmart604 found it in the Intellivision section at a Vancouver video game store. Some guys have all the luck! [no picture] 8. Cellblock1138 saw it on a maxsold auction from Victoria, BC, buyer is unknown. [no picture] 9. Ebay seller hewheezey posted a sealed copy for sale in December 2022. Hope it's OK that I took one of the pics from the ebay auction to post here for historical purposes. This is #9 in my list above: -

This should be interesting for those sealed French Canadian collectors...a sealed (not-opened since Coleco didn't use shrink wrap) white box FC Carnival: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/394373171954?hash=item5bd2790af2:g:0NAAAOSw9xxjlMfG&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoMhDzKtiZAkXLFgr6ECu%2BbqQEC0S7ZxvSvWMOvormNB8%2BJ0xH2SpFGEe8KRpiO5bTzosMtQOXnc16Z5pVcEnlRSvI5q0EkPPbiSjfam340%2B9vbXJXf1Mj88bOxkNV1ooZ1GnBDvC1hvFGMzFJjKXqjE3uteYbTBNHuG05Ick9rzQRREOxECZiN3bXms199VvxFAKmLiqJD7mALH5A2nMWKM%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-rKtuCfYQ It's not in perfect shape, but looks to be one of the best so far. -
Intellivision Purchases and Deals

I feel the same way about the II titles without a box. Neat if I come across one, but nothing I need to complete my CIB set. Some of us have to put limits on our variant collecting! Same type of thing with the French Canadian sleeved games. I have really enjoyed putting together the FC collection (two missing!) but decided that the sleeved games are just too rare to go through the pain and cost to get them. The two that I have found brought me nice pieces in trade. -

Oh, I got what you meant! Which means that I am looking for an Intellivision Inc. Backgammon for my last Intellivision Inc. game. -

I'm part of the exclusive Intellivision Inc. Backgammon club! I know it's cheaper but it's seems to surface on auction about as often as Super Series. -

I have one, but it has the worst box in my collection. Have never seen another one to get the upgrade. Even though I have put a lot of focus on my FC collection, I don't have the FC Moustrap "Plays like the real arcade game" (with or without sticker) or the "Special home version of Exidy's Arcade game" versions. I've seen them, but always in such rough condition that I haven't bothered. -

A beauty of a French Canadian B-17 Bomber for pretty cheap. Let's just say I paid a lot more for a lot just to get one of these a couple years ago! EDIT: Ya, figured that wouldn't last long. It has been sold. -

This guy had a beautiful French Canadian Sewer Sam up for auction as well. I was preparing to outbid anyone on this one, but then the auction disappeared. -
intellivision Intellivision Variants
BigDumer replied to Morpheus's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
@Morpheus - In an odd coincidence, I received a lot today with a French Canadian Sleeved Major League Baseball! Check out my post here: Here are a couple pictures: The lot also contained an 8920 manual for NBA Basketball which are the French-only, printed in Canada manuals that were added to these sleeved games before they started printing the dual language boxes. So this NBA Basketball was likely a sleeved version, but the sleeve has been lost. There are several collectors on AA that have significant collections of sleeved games. But I don't think anyone has all of them. There is speculation that all of the 19 original Intellivision games have sleeved versions. As far as I know, the ones that have been found are: ABPA Backgammon / Le Backgammom Auto Racing / La Course Automobile [NOTE: I've never seen a photo of this one] The Electric Company: Math Fun / Jouons Avec Les Chiffres Horse Racing / La Course de Chevaux Las Vegas Roulette / La Roulette de Las Vegas Major League Baseball / Le Baseball de la Ligue Majeure NASL Soccer / Le Soccer de la NASL NBA Basketball / Le Basketball NBA NHL Hockey / Le Hockey LNH PGA Golf / Le Golf PGA Space Battle / Combat de L'Espace U.S. Ski Team Skiing / Le Ski Of the remaining 19, Canadian printed 8920 manuals have been found for: Armor Battle Tennis Sea Battle Which leaves: Checkers Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack NFL Football Word Fun Poker was the pack-in for the original French Canadian console, so there is a good chance it didn't get the sleeve but it does have the 8920 manual. I got one of these pack-in versions today as well. I can see NFL Football MAYBE not getting one because of the need to translate the Playbooks. They did this for the regular French Canadian release, but that might have been difficult for the Sleeved release. I can see why Word Fun, a video game about English words would not get the French sleeved treatment. But, who knows. -
Intellivision Purchases and Deals
BigDumer replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
NOTE: I have already made a deal for the Major League Baseball and NBA Basketball so they are not available. It was interesting seeing the ebay Purchases & Deals thread light up yesterday with a FC sleeved Golf and sleeved Baseball sniped by @ThunderDunks because I knew I had this lot being shipped to me from Quebec: Obviously the Sleeved Baseball caught my eye, but I also needed a 2609 so decided to go for it. The Sleeved Baseball is a beauty: The console came with the styrofoam and plastic, but no manuals and unfortunately the console didn't boot up on my quick test. I might seek out a console Dr. for help. It looks to be a very early release in Canada. Every game except Astrosmash has shielding on the circuit board. Astrosmash has a Consumers Distributing sticker on it, as does the console itself (older Canadians will know). Also, the NBA Basketball APPEARS to have been a sleeved game based on the 8920 manual, but there is no sleeve to be found. Finally, there was a bit of wrapping paper in the box which I assume came from when this was opened on an early 80's Christmas morning...aww.... -
Official Castle of Death thread - IntellivisionRevolution
BigDumer replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I spent a lot of time playing this over the long weekend and really enjoyed it. I had 61 deaths on my Normal playthrough. For the Fast speed, I didn't do it all in one sitting, but I did track my deaths on each level and ended up with 355. Some room for improvement there (especially 80 deaths on Square Tower). There are definitely some stages on Fast that are very tricky, timing moves to miss one or two fast-moving enemies. Really impressed with the controls and especially the speed on Fast mode. I almost never blamed the controls for a death. The double jump is a tad unusual but feels really good once you get used to it. A showcase for Intellivision controls. My only criticism is that the difficulty curve flattens out around the middle of the game and many of the level designs are re-used in the later levels. I have played a lot of similar-ish games like Super Meat Boy and Celeste and would have loved a similar challenge level late in the game. As it is, I will still enjoy trying to lower my death count on each level. I'd love to see the programmer/designer use this as a base for a sequel. -
I also got my LTO Flash about 1.5 years ago and connected it to my older Windows 10 laptop. It was not recognized by Windows until I installed these FTDI drivers. Then it worked like a charm. About 8 months ago I bought a new laptop, also Windows 10 and the LTO Flash connected to it perfectly on the first try.
