  1. OK long-haul Intellivision collectors...is it just me or do most of the 2002 prices seem high? One of the challenges to doing this is that variants make a big impact. Does the 2022 price of Turbo include the French Canadian or CBS variants (the picture used was the CBS version)? I suspect it does because PriceCharting does not differentiate Intellivision variants the way they do for some other consoles.
  2. I have been enjoying it as well. I have been trying out various combinations of options to see which one provides a nice challenge without being too difficult. I'd be interested to hear what combinations others are using. So far I like: - Beginner / Slow / 8x4 -> Basically default Space Armada. It's easy to clear 10+ waves before it becomes difficult. - Super Pro / Fast / 4x4 -> Max speed with minimum Invaders isn't too difficult at but is fun and you complete levels quickly. Has anyone cleared a single screen of Super Pro / Fast / 8x8? I only tried a couple times, but it's tough!
  3. Another for the Vancouver Intellivision crew! Chris Dumaresq BigDumer Vancouver, BC Thank-you!
  4. Wait, what!?! This opens a whole new variant subset on my list. I have several Intellivision Inc. boxes with the "NEW" sticker and they all have the white label carts that don't have "(C) I.I. 1980 USA" but it never occurred to me that these were INTV Corp releases. The "NEW" Sticker should have tipped me off...it's so obvious now. I think it's because I built my list off of INTV Funhouse and these non-Intellivision Inc. white label carts are listed as Intellivision Inc, not INTV Corp. Just checked my tracker and I have 4 Intellivision Inc. games with NEW stickers. These 3 sports: And I just confirmed my Pinball as well. Huh. So I guess I'm looking for some REAL Intellivision Inc. games to replace these and will have to create a NEW list of INTV Corp versions of Intellivision Inc. games. VARIANTS!
  5. EDIT: Ah, repro boxes. I thought they looked too good! Still, cool! https://www.ebay.ca/itm/325278189427?hash=item4bbc174773:g:pWsAAOSwFFRivLTr
  6. Yeah, I'm not going to make offers and potentially negotiate on a public reddit thread. I don't feel like sending offers via DM is being not "truly honest". The thread was already 6 (or 8?) hours old when I found it, with zero comments.
  7. BBWW, not totally sure, but if you are suggesting that I saw this on ebay and made an offer to take the sale from someone else then I'm not sure what to say. I've never done that, nor would I ever do that. I try to do all deals with honesty and integrity like offering this guy $150 for the Backgammon when I could have offered $50. I never saw this item on ebay (though I refresh my search many times a day!) I thought I saw an opportunity to snag a game that I dearly wanted and did what I thought was the right thing to try and get it. Yes, giving this person information on the value of this item led him to post it on ebay which may cost me more money, or, more likely, the item itself.
  8. Keeping this 'fun' going, it looks like the ebay post I started this thread with has been ended and the item has been relisted to remove the "Condition: Brand New" and to note that the seal is not original. https://www.ebay.com/itm/165584768908?hash=item268d9f0f8c:g:0vYAAOSwM4di04iu
  9. Ah, sorry, I misremembered the subreddit, it's r/retrogames and the post is still there:
  10. Ah, geez. It was posted on r/retrogaming and the post had no replies after 8 hours. Just someone wanting to know why this version looked different than the others. I really want an Intellivision Inc. Backgammon so I DM'd him to see if I could make a deal, but I admit to being honest that the item is rare and making what I consider a fair offer. I'm not surprised that my offer, much higher than the $25 BIN led him to post it as an auction. Luc, my apologies to your fiend, whatever that is worth. I'd be super bummed if my amazing deal got taken away.
  11. Sealed Intellivision Inc. Backgammon on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165584372680?hash=item268d9903c8:g:0vYAAOSwM4di04iu The seller posted this on reddit yesterday with a "Why doesn't this have the ABPA license" - so I DM'd him to tell him that this is a pretty desirable game. I've never seen a sealed one. Now, it is far from perfect condition and that will be a factor. I made what I think is a fair offer for it, but was totally honest that the crazy sealed collectors might pay a lot more. If I had bought it, I would have opened it. So he made the smart call to post it on eBay. Haha, but if someone DOES win this auction to replace their non-sealed copy, maybe think of me for your old one. And forget that I called you crazy above.
  12. I should start a thread on the Activision French Canadian sticker variants. I've seen a couple of these Dreadnaught Factors with the big English/French sticker on the back, but no "CONCU POUR L'INTELLIVISION" sticker on the front and no French manual. I probably would have bought it if it had the manual, though I'm still unsure if all Activision French Canadian sticker variants should have that sticker on the front.
  13. @swlovinist published his VRGE video: I spy some Atari Age folks in the video but I think I managed to dodge the cameras! Man, I need to swing by Game Deals. I haven't been there since the start of the pandemic and they appear to have a LOT more inventory than the last time I was there. That cabinet of NeoGeo is insane. I guess it's time I get back to making my rounds of the game stores in the region.
  14. Also got to chat with @Black_Tiger - always fun to meet another local Intellivision collector!
  15. Had a great time at the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo! Was fortunate to meet up with @Lathe26 and got to join him for poutine lunch (I think his Montreal Smoked Meat poutine was better than my Jambalaya poutine) and then for the $4 donuts. A highlight was when someone (who @Lathe26 knows) saw me in my @Papa Pete shirt he started singing the intro tune. So, you were there in spirit, Pete! I didn't get any Intellivision stuff (there isn't too much left on my list) but I got 4 NES games (highlights: Mega Man 4, Journey to Silius), 4 Wii games (nothing special...Phantom Brave: We Meet Again) and a stack of 10 very clean PS3 games from the "all games are $2" table. We also had a nice chat with @swlovinist about keeping things positive in the Intellivision community. My feet hurt, but it was nice to get out to an expo again. Has me looking forward to the insanity of PRGE. EDIT: Pic includes an Inty game that was planned for a trade for someone who wasn't able to make it.
  16. Ah, I'll risk sharing this publicly. I'm in a black Intellivision Running Man hat and grey Papa Pete shirt.
  17. I'm in line! Wanted to get here early enough so I don't have to stand in the sun.
  18. I've never been there, but Google is telling me that this place is a 2-minute walk from where the Expo is: https://spudshack.ca/
  19. Ha, wow, indeed you read the list correctly. That is one beautiful set of extras! I'll DM you.
  20. Yes, I might need to update my personal rarity rating on these. At some point I probably made an assumption that Soccer and Hockey were common but that's not the case. Well, at least this gives me some things to hunt that aren't silly expensive.
  21. I appreciate the thought Rog! Mostly I wanted to say that the art on the SEARS games is generally great, but that Frog Bog box is awesome!
  22. A couple BIG pickups for me! My most wanted game, French Canadian Popeye: Thanks a TON to Warren (he's on AA but don't know his handle) for pointing out a five-week old Facebook Marketplace from Quebec. I had to buy the whole lot and have it shipped across Canada but it was worth it! Now my most wanted game is to find a French Canadian Space Spartans for Warren! I also spent the cash to get the SEARS Checkers from eBay: Now I have all of the most difficult to find SEARS games, but I still need Frog Bog, Golf, Hockey, Soccer and Utopia.
  23. Indeed I did. Was so glad it arrived quickly so I didn't need to spend the weekend checking the shipping details for updates!
  24. This isn't a big surprise if you've been reading the eBay Roundup thread, but this arrived today: I am shocked that it arrived today - I bought it on eBay late on Tuesday night. I am so glad that I asked the guy to upgrade to air instead of ground shipping (2/3 of the way across Canada). It's been quite a week for me thanks to excessive spending, friends finding rare items on 5-week old Quebec Facebook Marketplace posts and friends offering up generous trades. Ya, I'm teasing there but I can't count them until the item is safely delivered. So, hopefully, more posts to come in the next couple of weeks.
  25. I know who the buyer is..... This is what happens when you only have a few major missing pieces in your collection and it's bonus time at work. Also, the seller is in Canada so I don't have to worry about duty or expensive shipping with the eBay Global Shipping Program. Though, I don't think I'm ever going to want to hear @Kamikazi26 talk about getting his for $80 last year.
