Hi Luc - ha, I saw the thread but didn't realize it was a reservation thread until I saw Rev's email! I am in for 2! -

Intellivision Ebay Roundup
BigDumer replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I often see these WATA slabbed Intellivision Inc. games and there is no mention on the label that it's Intellivision Inc. - it just says "Mattel Electronics". Nevermind that an Intellivision Inc. Backgammon or Roulette would be much more desirable than the Mattel version. You are right, they have no idea what they are doing. And, I know, they don't care. -

Masters of the Universe: Power of He-Man / Intellivision / 83 / French Quebec https://www.ebay.ca/itm/373975693218?hash=item5712b037a2:g:EmsAAOSwtbViLslA That box has the most peculiar French I've ever seen. -
I'll be there! @Kamikazi26, @cmart604 - Atari Age Meetup?!?!? It would be nice to actually know some people there (other than some vendors and frequently running into @OEB_Pete while he is looking for Super Return of the Jedi)

I have also been busy filling up my LTO Flash over the last few weeks and would love to buy a copy of Miner 2049er! While I'm on the topic, I saw in an old thread to email @TrekMD to buy Cosmic Avenger and Wizard of Wor but haven't heard back. Is there another way to get these?

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/115272939503?hash=item1ad6cd77ef:g:nsQAAOSwfUFiHVck $50,000 Canadian (only $39,467 USD) for a Keyboard Component! This is being sold by Press Start games in New Westminster, BC and one of the owners, Russel, was recently on Happy Console Gamer with Johnny Millennium: ARE GAME STORES DYING? - Happy Console Gamer - YouTube -
I have been piling up a box of loose carts for Luc (I assume to be re-purposed as homebrew games) and I noticed that one of them was a No Line cart. I did consider for a second if this would make a nice ultra rare-variant for whatever homebrew it goes to but I decided to keep that card.
-
Wow, you've just created a whole new section on my spreadsheet! I know I've seen these super shiny labels before...I wonder if they were on these HK No Line carts and I just didn't notice. I'm choosing to ignore the Royal Dealer Intellivision Inc. double label no-line one. ?

I have 481 games to test - any tips?

I wondered about this. Some of those non-Mattel games make some...interesting sounds when the carts are inserted. Thanks to your tip I switched to using the Intellivoice full-time! -

Thanks Cmart! Once I get through the testing I'll reach out. Part of this process should end up with some loose cartridges for Luc so I will be dropping those off with him at some point. I finished testing all of the games in my collection (except the Coleco games not testable on an Intellivision II). Ended up with 13 fails out of 330 tests. I have already swapped out a few from my duplicates so I only have 10 in my collection that don't work. I haven't tried to clean them and re-test yet. I still need to do the 150-ish games in my duplicates box to create some lots for sale. Actually, I did test 32 Canadian versions last night and came up with this lot of 24 FC games to sell: Haha, this is usually where I stop because I can't be bothered to deal with people and shipping. Also, the games look much nicer in this picture than in person. A good start on a Canadian Intellivision collection, but not many in great condition. -

Thanks for the tips everyone! I should set up a formula on my spreadsheet to track my progress but a quick total shows that I've tested 248 games. @cmart604 you are correct that pacing is important; on that first day I did about 75 and had a seriously sore thumb from the ridges on those Mattel cartridges! Of the 248 I've tested, I have found 10 that I haven't been able to get to work. Thanks for the suggestions; I'll have a go at those with isopropyl alcohol. Thankfully, all of my 'heavy hitters' booted up! I was pleasantly surprised that I could at least boot test most ECS games without having an ECS. I was not able to get either copy of Melody Blaster nor my copy of World Series Baseball to boot up. I hope they just require the additional hardware. Ha, I guess I'm FINALLY going to have to buy a 2609 (gotta test those early Coleco games), an ECS and a Music Synthesizer. I also verified that my LTO Flash works. I added a couple games to it when I got it (nearly a year ago?) but had no way to play them. Now the fun really begins! -
I have been passively collecting Intellivision games for about 10 years but I really ramped-up about 4 or 5 years ago. I now have 331 games in my collection (yes, I'm collecting variants) plus 150 games in my trade/sell box. But in all that time, I have never tested a single one of the games. It's not because I don't have the consoles (I have three) - I just hadn't bothered to get the adapter to make it possible. Today Amazon delivered the RCA-Coax adapter and I am up and running! Yes, I am using an Intellivision II so I won't be able to test some of the Coleco games. I really need to get a 2609. So far I've tested about 25 games and only one didn't work (a Checkers with shielding and no 'Insert To" line). I am using a soft cloth to remove any dust from the connector pins but I'm not doing any special cleaning. Maybe I will use the old isopropyl alcohol and Q-tip when I circle back to any that don't work on this first pass. Mostly, I'm pretty excited to actually PLAY some of these games that I've been buying for years! The recent Intellivisionaries top-10 episodes really motivated me to play some of the games I didn't have as a kid. The only Intellivision games I've played since 2002 have been on the Flashback and the Intellivision Lives! compilation on PS2 and Nintendo DS. Even when I played in 2002 it was on a borrowed console. The last time I played on my OWN Intellivision was back in 1987 before I gave it away when I got my NES for Christmas. Any suggestions or tips for carts that I can't get to work? I'm sure there will be a few butt-clenching tests with some of the rare ones...but Congo Bongo has already passed!

I believe I got this picture from a post made by Rev with this particular version on the top right. I don't have one myself: I believe the one on the top left is the "Plays Like the Real Arcade Game" version - just under the sticker. I have the one with the mouse and cheese but it's in very poor shape - bought it because it's the only one I've ever seen.
-
Those darn Coleco boxes, eh? While I have them all, several of them need an upgrade and any that I have for sale are not in great shape. Not to mention the variants. Mouse Trap has the one with the image of a mouse & cheese, one with "Plays like the real arcade game" and a third with "Special home version of Exidy's arcade game"! You definitely have most of the tough ones to get on that list. I have an 8/10 Space Armada, but no manual. That's it from your list. Mine are mostly the common games and most are 6 or 7/10 boxes. I do actually have a loose Canadian Turbo cartridge that became a duplicate once I snagged a CIB earlier this year. Not sure if that is of interest to anyone.

A couple weeks ago I decided it was time to sell some of my 150 duplicates and I outlined a couple bundles on a spreadsheet. One is going to be 23 French Canadian games that looks almost identical to this lot...I thought maybe I had sleep-posted it to eBay!!! I wasn't sure what to ask for the lot but now this gives me a decent starting point (though, it did sell quickly...I agree that $6 CAD per game is a great deal and this lot looks to be in better condition than my duplicates). I also plan to make a lot of 57 different US games that would make a nice starter set for someone looking to jump in.

Game cart label Varient
BigDumer replied to Psycho Stormtrooper- Rog's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
It's listed on INTVFunhosue so it's a known variant: http://www.intvfunhouse.com/games/nhl.php I swear I often see this where the text is almost purple instead of black. Not sure if that is fading or an odd batch of ink due to the questionable quality control of Intellivision Inc. On an unrelated note...Psycho Stormtrooper is a real person and not just the name of the set of orphan overlays?!?!?!?- 8 replies

Intellivision Purchases and Deals

Got this in the mail today: I saw it on a Kijiji post from Ontario where it was part of a lot that the seller was asking $500 for (the lot was worth maybe $250 CDN) but I decided to see if he would sell this separately and, surprisingly, he did! It's my 8th double label. A fun subset to collect! -

There is another one for sale on Vancouver Craigslist: https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van/vgm/d/vancouver-nintendo-super-nintendo/7403497408.html Since I don't collect console box variants (I mean, who would DO that) I wasn't even aware of these until this thread. Now I see them everywhere! -

Just noticed one of these boxes with the Keyboard Component image is for sale on FB Marketplace from Victoria, BC: Box is rough and the lot has been for sale for 6 weeks. I don't know if I can link to FB marketplace, but here it is: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/419747812838314/ EDIT: Ah, just noticed that this one has Poker & Blackjack in the console like the one Rick posted, not NFL Football like the one above. -

Update on my major pickups from the last couple of months. Just got this Intellivision Inc. Roulette today...awesome to get a double label as well! I'm down to my last 3 Intellivision Inc. games...though not holding by breath for Super Series Baseball! Yeah, I spent some money in the last couple months as well. I got the Triple Challenge off eBay. Was a little nervous that the box was a repro because it's in such nice condition, but I'm pretty confident that it's authentic. Big thanks to @Cellblock1138 for the LFI...bonus points that he lives about a 3 minute drive from my house! Any chance someone is sitting on a Learning Fun I manual that they want to sell? Two more to go for my 125: LFII and Spiker! After much ranting that sticker variants aren't REAL variants, I got that Blockade Runner French Canadian sticker variant and had to admit that I want to get FC Sewer Sam AND the FC Activision games. Pitfall! is the easiest to get and the sticker has seen better days, but it's complete with the French manual so it will do for now. One more thing being delivered in a week or so, but I guess I'll post that separately. Just a loose cart. -

That's a beauty! I got mine earlier this year. It was my most wanted game for a couple years so I was super happy to finally get it. I paid to ship a lot from the UK to Canada...but it was worth it! The set of French Canadian Intellivoice games look so good together! -

I think the rare turquoise label variant Horse Racing (with stain) is a keeper too.
