  1. A decent chunk of my collection is from lots purchased from the local Facebook Marketplace. The best item I found was a sleeved French Canadian Horse Racing.
  2. Definitely. Just a couple weeks ago I went through every eBay Intellivsion auction in Canada. In a lot of about 20 loose cartridges I saw a double-label Vectron so I messaged the seller and made him a solid offer that he accepted. Needed to overpay to get someone to break-up a lot, but it worked. I'm sure he was wondering why I was willing to pay $10 for one cart out of 20 in his $30 auction.
  3. Would love to get the FCTVVO Backgammon from this lot, but I don't think I'll be bidding against anyone who wants that Conversational French. I bought a lot of 8 games in October that had a beauty FCTVVO Backgammon but it never showed up. Oddly, two other one-off Intellivision purchases made at the same time, all through eBay, all from different sellers, all going through the eBay Global Shipping Center (USA to Canada), didn't arrive. ?
  4. @fdr4prez @cmart604 Where does the line form for FCTVVO NBA Basketballs? I'm interested if anyone else has one after Atari-Bill get his. I was watching the recent auction but I still have 3 shipments coming from the US that are taking FOREVER (including a really nice FCTVVO Backgammon) so I decided not to get involved in this one.
  5. Closing the loop - here is the Math Fun FCTVVO: It's not exactly minty fresh but it will look pretty good once it's in the protective sleeve. Feels good to gamble on a tiny bit of blurry grey above the title in a single photo. As I said, it's in Oregon and I'm in BC so I'm not sure when I will get this (and a Taiwan Poker & Blackjack, and a Mattel Pinball....) in my hot little hands.
  6. Luc has a nice picture on his site of all the FCTVVO games: https://www.intellivisioncollector.com/for-color-tv-viewing-only-fctvvo-variants.html As others have said, the FCTVVO text is above the title for most games, but at the bottom for Major League Baseball and NFL Football. Also found this thread with some higher-resolution pictures:
  7. WOW! So, if I recall my max bid was around $109 and it was beaten at $110. I was going to give up because I still wasn't sure I could pay with a Canadian credit card, but my wife encouraged me to bid one more time - my max was $124 and I ended up winning it for just $1 above the previous bid. I am extra lucky that my 3:30-4:30 meeting was cancelled so I could pay close attention to the auction. Sorry, Luc. A lucky one for me. You'll get the next one; I'll keep my eyes open!
  8. Thanks for the link @Morpheus. I hadn't looked there before so I searched for Intellivision and the first lot that came up was this one: The FCTVVO NFL Football is neat, but I have one (thanks to @cmart604). Then I saw one of the other photos: Huh. Full colour manual Math fun with the spine glue not sticking. Could this be an FCTVVO? Back to the main picture where my brain has convinced itself that there is a blurry bit right where the "For Color TV Viewing Only" text would be, above the Math Fun text. Maybe it's wishful thinking. Either way, I just won the auction for $111 + $29 shipping (to Oregon - they don't ship to Canada). $140 for a shot at an FCTVVO Math Fun? I felt it was worth it. A bit afraid to post this here to have one of you super-experts point out why it definitely is not FCTVVO. But even if it's not, I won't lose too badly on the auction...assuming there is a time in the future when I can drive down to Oregon to pick it up. 2021 PRGE? ? My cousin has two other items waiting for me and I never ask her to open the shipping box, but this one might be the exception. I'll let you know when I know.
  9. For my 125 I also prefer plastic trays and so I count the HK versions if those are the only ones with trays. Just my personal take since I connected those trays to Intellivision so much growing up. This is another one where I count the blue Space Network games for the 125 since...I dunno...they are Space games! But I have the red Action Network (and blue Action Network) as “variants”. Similarly for the ECS games I count the smaller boxes as “the” games since they all came in the small box, but only some had gatefolds. I also have the gatefolds (except Melody Blaster) as variants. Same logic for the 1983 games; they all came out in the small boxes so I count those and have the gatefolds as variants. I guess consistency of box style is more important than date for me, but other than the exceptions above I go for the oldest version.
  10. Wow, that box is in great shape. Even with the little tear at the top it looks to be the best one of the 3 currently in the hands of AA collectors! Haha, I just bought two 'regular' Carnival variants off your site today - it's going to show up on the Best Sellers list!
  11. I can see that. Found a Tennis once that was so faded that it was nearly grey. I only hesitated since the red appears to be so vibrant but I've seen things like bumper stickers where one colour was totally gone and the other was still good.
  12. Saw this eBay listing this morning: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vintage-video-game-lot/313068141790?hash=item48e450bcde:g:1bUAAOSwWbxeqZ7G Wondering about the grey Major League Baseball cartridge label: Has anyone seen this before? With the low quality photo I guess it could be homemade or just a misprint where they ran out of blue ink. Either way, not sure anyone is paying $50 for a handful of loose carts and overlays.
  13. I picked-up my 4th one today: a loose Sea Battle. Just noticed that the underlying sticker is one of the bright pink labels (rather than the usual red for Sea Battle).
  14. I do! And the gatefold, the Intellivision Inc. and the Canadian. What can I say - it was one of my favourites as a kid. It seems to have a bad reputation as a poor Centipede knockoff but I still enjoy it. It’s so satisfying when you position the honeycombs just right to trap the bees and create beehives. But that damn bird always ruins it!
  15. I must...resist...can't...afford...all. For now I'm not counting stickers as variants on my list. That said, I am counting "Buzz Bombers with black marker through the 1 or 2 can play" since I have one of those.
  16. So there's THREE Canadian versions of Mouse Trap!?! They warn you not to collect Intellivision variants. I heard them but...I didn't listen. Bah. Spreadsheet updated. Thanks Steve! I saw a rumour that a certain SOMEONE is planning a post with all the Canadian variants and I was a little nervous that there would be a couple variants that I don't know about. Now I'm terrified that there will be a lot. /So glad that I am staying away from European, Brazilian or Japanese versions. Although those 4 white box Euro versions are pretty cool. Oh, and Draughts.
  17. Y’know, I feel I am pretty knowledgeable about variants at this point (though far from the expert) but I am embarrassed to admit that I totally didn’t know about the Mouse version. It’s not listed on INTVFunhouse and somehow, even though I have looked at this post on the FB group many times in the last month, I didn’t notice that it was different than the “Plays like the real arcade game” version on INTVFunhouse. So I learned about a new (rare) Canadian variant and got lucky to get it even though it had been for sale for over a month!
  18. OK, what is going on here. This exact copy was posted on the Vancouver Video Game Buy, Sell and Trade Facebook group over a month ago. I didn't have a Canadian Mouse Trap so I messaged him and agreed to buy it for $12 but he didn't reply to my last message and I didn't think it was worth following up for a rough Mouse Trap so I left it. I checked his post a few weeks later and it was marked as sold, so I forgot about it. He still has it posted on the FB group: Well, earlier this week I was searching eBay and saw this exact copy posted (though I don't think it had this price...maybe I didn't notice?). It was listed from Sumas, WA which is right over the border from the FB post above which is in Chilliwack, BC. So I bumped my old FB messenger chat with him from over a month ago to see if it was still available, and he said it was. So we agreed to meet, and today I bought it for $12. Yes, it's rough but at least I have one to build on: The guy was nice and doesn't seem like he's scamming anyone. I also bought a Canadian Royal Dealer for a box upgrade. So this post for $2228.99 must be some sort of mistake. I'll message him to see what he has to say. EDIT - I don't know anything about selling on eBay. Perhaps because he sold it outside of eBay he obviously can't sell it again, but for some reason doesn't want to take down his eBay listing so he raises the price to a ridiculous level where nobody will buy it?
  19. Since it came up on the eBay thread, I thought I'd share the 2 games that arrived in the mail today: Super happy to get these, and in nice shape! I remember long ago reading Cmart and Rev's thread on their top-30 variants and drooling over pics of Bomb Squad and B-17. Interesting to look at that thread now and see the first item is the Bandai games which, it sounds like, Cmart just completed the subset. And just today I bought the Intellivision Inc. Math Fun off of eBay. I try not to buy from the US due to exchange and shipping, but I bit the bullet on this one. This work from home thing had better end soon because I'm spending way more on Inty games than I ever did going out to local shops!
  20. I finally get to say “I scored this lot!” This is the benefit (curse?) of suddenly working from home - I am regularly searching eBay instead of going out to game stores. Spending the money I am saving on gas. I was down to 7 or 8 Canadian variants left (thanks to a certain local collector...) and this lot had TWO that I needed. Not to mention it shipped from Canada with no shipping fee - a huge plus. Saw two people had made offers that were declined and didn’t hesitate to go for the Buy Now. Was hoping the Intellivoice box was the French version but this is still an upgraded box with the Plimpton insert. Might sell my other one to recoup some of the cost of this lot.
  21. Hi All - Last year I bought a lot of Inty games that included a Masters of the Universe: He-Man game that was CIB, with the comic. Nice! However, the comic is different from ALL the other ones I've ever seen: I am in Canada where English and French items aren't that unusual so I didn't think much of it until I learned that this comic (He-Man and the Power Sword) is totally different from all the others I've ever seen in the Intellivision box (King of Castle Grayskull). I later learned (or re-learned since I had many He-Man figures as a kid) that these comics were included with various figures in the original 1980s toys. This site has a great summary of them. So, at this point I figured someone had stuck a comic from a toy bought in Canada into their Intellivision He-Man game box. Oh well. But then I saw THIS auction on eBay (coming from Canada) with this picture: It has the usual King of Castle Grayskull comic, except it has a comic book that is in English and French. So, the question to my fellow Canadian variant collectors out there: Is there a Canadian He-Man variant that has a French comic book, or I am just noticing "frankensteined" copies with no proof that those comics originally came with the game?
  22. Here is a bit of history on the building: http://www.colecovisionzone.com/page/coleco industries/coleco canada.html Lots of info in this thread:
  23. This is really interesting but it does lead to more questions: The one I found has a price sticker from The Bay department store. Yours above has a "G.A.M.E.S. Unlimited" sticker with a price that indicates it was sold new. While these might have been available at the Coleco outlet, it appears as though at least some were also shipped to retailers. If the Coleco retail outlet store sold many (all?) of their games in generic white boxes then I would expect to find other examples besides Carnival.
