  1. Is it possibly a homebrew USD? If so there would be two stacked 6810P's in one of the sockets with a couple of wires soldered between the pins of the stacked 6810's. One wire would go from pin 12 to pin 14 of the top 6810 and the other would go between pin 10 of the top one and pin 14 of the bottom one.
  2. That's interesting. I have a deluxe quintopus and it has spaces for 5 IC's but none of them are populated and it works just fine.
  3. <br /><br />But the object file that appears with extension .o is not runnable with the emulator (atario800win).<br />anybody knows a workaround?<br /><br />Cheers,<br /><br />--Devwebcl<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> This is the whole quote: The assembly language listing is next assembled to produce the object code file which can be run from DOS without Kyan Pascal. (Though you will need to append the library files or at least put them on the same disk.) Did you append all the necessary libraries, or are they on the disk with the .o file?
  4. Don't give up so easily Steve! Spelunker.zip Ah. OK, thanks. I'll stop looking. - Steve Sheppard
  5. If you want to work with ATR's on a PC, get Windows Total Commander. Then download the Atari ATR Plugin here: http://gury.atari8.info/pc_files.htm With that plugin Total Commander treats ATR files just like a folder(directory).
  6. I have an 800XL with the same upgrade. Unfortunately, it and/or the computer is defective. The computer will nominally boot with the switch at either extreme, but is dead in the middle setting. In none of the settings do any of the special functions seem to be active. When switched down, the computer drops to a diagnostic menu with no drive attached. In the up position, it never shows the diagnostics. Since all the part numbers are filed off, I don't know where to start in diagnosis. For starters, if someone could scan the manual for me, that would be greatly helpful. I dropped a note to Bob Puff, but he is not sure he has any anymore and definitely didn't have an electronic copy. Um....post 9 in this thread will point you to what you are looking for.
  7. This appears to be a pretty standard XL OS with the Fast Math routines. Fastmath.zip
  8. There's one in this thread. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...200xl+schematic

  10. I always liked the Elephants too. Now I've found that most of my disks that have since failed turn out to be the elephants
  11. As I just found out, there are two different types of brains for these drives. I've gotten schematics and a PAL rom dump for the 6502 based board, and will soon have an 8031 based one in my possession! Quite interesting to find out they had two radically different boards for these drives.. Wonder what brought about the change? Looks like mine is the 8031 version. Here's a ROM dump in case you want to play before yours arrives ranarom.zip
  12. Here's the user manual, schematics and a dump the PAL version of the ROM. I have a working RANA drive but I don't know if I've ever even opened it up before. If I get a chance I'll make a dump of it's ROM since I only seem to have a dump the PAL version currently. rana.zip
  13. Here ya go. It's not a complete manual. It just details the differences from the standard 3.x version. X33A_doc.zip
  14. This site has a pretty good selection: http://www.mixinc.net/atari/download_a8/dosdisk.htm#top
  15. Thanks Larry, that's good to know. I guess the SmartDOS guys 'lifted' the code from the 'F' DOSes then. I guess I just assumed 'L J Silver' was the pirate Here ya go Olavese. AKA Long John Silver DOS back in the day: DOS25F.zip
  16. I have ATR's of 3 different 2.xF DOSes. 2.5F, 2.6F and 2.8F. They all have the same additional menu items so I assume they were all modifications of each other. 2.5F says 'enhancements by L J Silver'. It looks like most of the additional menu items were lifted directly out of SmartDOS. The prompts and screens for things like copy sectors, check sectors and Drive Speed look identical to the SmartDOS equivelants. 2.6F says "MODIFIED FOR ATARI 800 USE" so perhaps 2.5F would not run on an 800 and this version fixed it? 2.8F says "Modifications by E T Horst" so apparently he used one of the predecessors and made his own modifications.
  17. Yeah, if you can find the board, it's just a matter of soldering 4 VERY simple jumper wires to the bottom of the Mother board. Doesn't take much soldering skill at all.
  18. The only one I can find that still has that intro is the .PRO image.....sorry.
  19. Are these the ones you're looking for? Archon.zip Ballblazer.zip
  20. SmartDOS? It has a dark blue background and turns pink/red when formatting or writing to the destination disk of a copy operation.
  21. Cool! thanks a lot, I now have a working CP/M disk. Unfortuantely the alignment on my PC drive doesn't agree with the alignment of my INDUS. I was able to use it to edit the 2 sectors, but I get a lot of error when trying to make a Teledisk image. When I get a chance I'll try swapping dirve mechanisms around to see if I can get a working image.
  22. Are you holding down the OPTION key to disable BASIC when you boot?
  23. It probably just switches between 2 OS versions.
  24. I found the documentation for this ROM and transcribed it. I never have actually used this ROM as I fried my original INDUS before I got around to installing it and never got around to it after obtaining more drives. Sounds like some good improvements if they actually work. Should give you some things to play around with MrMartian. INDUS12X.txt
