For some reason, I can only see your first picture, the rest are just a bunch of random characters. Apparently others can see more?

Have you tried simply re-seating all of the socketed chips? Sorry if you did and I missed it.

Woo Hoo! Mine has made it to the States finally!

Could these ceramic caps need replacing?
I doubt that's your problem. Those things never go bad. Unless they are physically cracked I wouldn't worry about them.

Try a different memory card.

XF551 is a 40 track drive (per side).

Teledisk or Anadisk might work. It's pretty hit or miss. There are several versions of teledisk. Try them all, the latest is not always the best for any given hardware configuration.

4.77 is too low... well out of spec... did you ensure the Mylar separators were still present on the regulators... there is a very nice run down on fixing these up by either the alchemist? or on the forums here... I'd bet you it's in a newsletter or magazine for sure.
That revived a dormant brain cell... See page 6.

i have the deluxe - the switches are useful
Is your board populated with the 5 IC Chips? I believe 4 of them are quad analog switches? Most pictures I've seen of the deluxe model have them. Mine just has the switches and several jumpers, no ICs. I guess they figured out later on in production that they didn't need to switch out so many lines. The switches do work this way and appear to be exactly the same switches used on the chipped model, so I don't think it was a user mod.

I've used my MPP Micronet and Deluxe Quintopus in conjunction like that, but now that I think about it, I have no idea if the Micronet provides 5V out or not.

I guess nobody ever looked at this stuff or else they would have noticed some things.
All the OSNxx listings are just the OS. No Omnimon and no Fastchip. The NE looks like it’s just the E: handler. The XL one is a full list while the two NF listings are just $F000-FFFF listed twice, the Exxx is missing. So really not much to be learned from them.
The one pager source is just a routine to copy the OS rom to the ram underneath for XL and XE machines.
I suppose this means the source code for Omnimon and the Fastchip are not available, although I saw a comment elsewhere that Newell’s fast FP code is just a copy of Marslett’s fast floating point. Is that true, that Fastchip was written by Marslett ?
OSN, Omnimon, Omniview and Fastchip were all separate products on the 800 line. No reason that OSN source listings would include any of the others.

Cool, that's a very nice feature. Thanks!

Why does the Lotharek SIO splitter need power?

There was also the Quintopus. The deluxe model even had switchable ports.

I've got a 1.1K that I'll dump as soon as I can get around to it. It's from a 256K MIO.
My 1.1K (27128 EPROM) is identical to to the 1.1 above dumped from the EEPROM.

It's not necessarily the frequency with which it happens. The failure mode of this particular design causes over-voltage which can destroy chips, rendering the computer dead. With the others, if they fail, replace the PS and you're back in business.

This module went into a WST 1050, using slaker's patched ROM that incorporates the faster stepping rate found in the stock WSTR5 ROM. This ROM only works with WST mechs. A happy board in a 1050 with a WST mech is a downgrade for seek performance!
I keep waiting for someone to patch a Happy ROM with increased Step Rate for WST Mechs.

Windows has a problem with multiple FAT partitions on a removable device. The fix is here: https://www.prime-expert.com/articles/a05/enabling-multiple-partitions-on-removable-usb-storage-devices/
Edit: I believe this is the one that I used that also works on CF & SD as well as USB.
Or get one of these and a usb to sata cable.....or just upgrade to windows 10 (I know)

why did I read 800Xl instead of 600XL?
ah I mixed up more that one post and didn't see it properly... face palm...palm... face (I think they're acquainted now)
Can blame the eyes too. 6 and 8 look a lot alike and our eyes aren't getting any better either. I'm just glad I'm near sighted so I can still see the fine print pretty well. Don't need those large fonts yet!

Not necessary in your 600XL.

Rogue Atari 800XL Mod??

Most likely the other side of the switch would have gone to pin 27 of the EPROM for a 2 OS switcher..
