Ended up picking one of these up as I now have a family member living in the states who’s willing to ship it out to me here in the UK! No idea what I’ll do with it as it’ll be my 4th VCS I own but I couldn’t resist at the price and the speaker hat looks really cool. I don’t think these will be around much longer might just keep it boxed.
I understand you, but let new users buy it. Otherwise, the ecosystem will remain focused on a few owners who have 4/5 and who only pay once each game... If you like the VCS let new owner acquire it. This will be more games sales for Atari and third-party developers, it will ensure the development of the OS and other games... By buying at this price without buying new games in addition because you have 1 or 4 you pay 1x the game and you get it for all your consoles, you do not do the business of the ATARIVCS ecosystem. You understand? This message is not only for you, but for all those, like me, who have several. I have 2. One in the office, one in the living room. That's good enough.

This may not mean anything, but the slogan taken up by Atari on its last post: An ICON, REIMAGINED is well used for the new VCS still by ATARI. see the page about the latter on the Atari website
-
New post from Atari that specifies a reimagined icon and shows a classic controller finally improved compared to the version that accompanies the new vcs:
A "B" button and a trigger in addition!
Are you thinking of a 2600 that would accept the cartridges and environment of the new VCS under AtariOS?

I noticed you phrased it "European exit" in the Discord too. Did they ever make an entrance? Otherwise, seems like it could be some plug&play mini console deal or, optimistically, a cart reader that functions with the VCS. If they can facilitate VCS distribution to Europe via this venture go for it, but they'd need to grow their troubleshooting and support a bit before then.
Sorry. It is a translation error between French and English : I meant entering the European market and not going out.

Here the MyArcade's announcement :
I see the new classic controller with this button on the side below the A button. So VCS or just a controller?
No more doubt for me when we see a previous MyArcade Post:
This is the classic controller accompanying the VCS with led around the handle.
Here the Atari's announcement :
I see in the background the VCS Walnut model...
Could it be the famous license agreement announced in the financial report that accompanies the closing of the 1st fiscal semester (30/09/2022) to develop the VCS ecosystem?
Otherwise here is the MyArcade distribution network in Europe:
Source : MyArcade
So an European exit is in the pipeline?
Or it's just the classic controller for all the others systems...
A lot of questions? To be continued. In the meantime we have the right to dream. It's free.

Hi, I think Utopos is the only game with online multiplayer. The others are local multiplayers only.

It's a much better deal than Flashback Classics (as far as new/unusual material goes), but given the large amount of "low interest" 2600 crossover between this and Flashback Classics, $40 seems too much. $20 always seemed right for Flashback Classics, and $30 seems more reasonable to me for this compilation. I mean, I'd take a small discounts for already owning AFC and thus already owning a portion of the titles in this collection...
Hey, I like the content, just find a price a tad much. For $20-$30 I'd be snagging it in five minutes...
Atari will give VCS users a $10 discount on the title the first 24 hours that it's available in the VCS store, then the price should approach 30 USD ! Do not miss this shooting window !

I was able to listen in to a live chat on the Official VCS Discord with Atari's marketing head, David Lowery to discuss the delay on the VCS. Apparently some last minute bugs have delayed the release. Digital Eclipse are working on a resolution. [...]
I think the main problem is the ability for the ATARIVCS store to absorb more than 8GB (9GB or 12 I could read) of download per purchase... It is by far the heaviest game in need of disk space. But the second problem is also related to this. When we know that of the 32GB of the eMMC there is only a little more than half of available for games, such a game will simply occupy the remaining half ... It will be necessary to train people who only have the original space to make room on their e-mmc.

Finally I was able to download it on the vcs store. I had a hard time beating the first boss but once the mechanics of the game understood it gets better. I enjoy playing with the history of atari especially since I did not know the period before the lynx and the jaguar. A very good game.

You can purchase it on the VCS's Store ? I can't. I have seen on the Atari VCS discord channel that this problem is known. Indeed, I get a blank page instead of the checkout page. Wait and see...

Firstly, can you check that the wires of the wifi/bluetooth module are not damaged and reconnected to the wireless module?
Then, if it still does not work I advise you to test by putting the vcs back in its factory state by putting back the original memory and if it still does not work better, by removing the ssd, then finally by putting the ATARIOS back in its factory output configuration too. As a last resort there will remain the possibility of reflashing the bios and the AtariOS. If this still does not work, it will be necessary to activate the legal guarantee.

Game is really good. I wish there was something you'd do with the leftovers at the end of the level, all those power coins and powerups don't do anything.
Yes, I'm thinking like you !

I've just test it and I can confirm in wireless mode I don't obtain the pause menu with right/left stick. I can just in wire mode with the menu button.

I see this game has received updates recently. Some are cool like new CRT emulation modes, and I think the arcade cabinet overlay is new?
But the one new thing that drives me crazy is when you press on the right or left stick (Modern Controller). it brings up a pause menu. Seems like whenever I get into a tight spot in the game, I press on the left stick hard, bringing up this menu by accident and interrupting the flow of the game (and maybe messing up the jump that I was attempting).
I don't know if the author reads this forum.. But maybe this could be changed to a different button? Or a user option to turn it off?
Apart that little annoyance, this is easily my most played VCS game!
If you connect the modern controller with wire and press the menu button you'll obtain the pause menu. I'll give a try wireless if I obtain the same thing with right/left stick. In all case I'm sure the menu button doesn't do anything.

The ethernet cable may help during that initial update but it's not a guarantee. I had issues months after my initial setup. The system went into an update loop where it would fail and then fail again the next time it tried. I had to send the unit back for that one. As long as you have the ethernet, it wouldn't hurt to leave it in. It's certainly faster and more stable than Wi-Fi.
The lan isn't always faster than Wi-Fi. Wifi 802.11 is very fast. But I'm ok with you, the ethernet is more stable.

Bad reviews on Discord. Wait and see.

I have already encountered this problem. This was because I was leaving a USB stick with Grub or refind on it. Have you installed any of these multiboot solutions?

So basically they are recompiling the games into some virtual machine format?
That's right. They adapt the original game to run on their Eclipse engine platform. Then this game is directly compatible with all the hardware that the eclipse engine supports currently and in the future. It's clever because they become essential for the future...

Finally beat stage 5 over the weekend. Game is one of the best arcade games I've played in...dunno how long. Long time.
Me too the previous weekend. I was able to finish the easy-medium mode and reach more than 200k points
I am 36 or 34th on the ranking. A must have !

Were you actually able to complete the BPM Boy purchase at 50% off? I just get a message that the code isn't valid for it.
It's only working for Atari published games.

add some explaination
Because you assume that only the happy owners of the console will buy one or several others. If you think like me that new users can buy it, for Atari, it brings as much money to the bank in the short term but it will also bring in more money in the medium term with new buyers on the store. What's the point of having 4? speculated on Atari's fall and that prices soar like the Jaguar ?
