I have a similar joystick problem for the PC. USB joysticks either seem to be GIANT table top fighter pilot sticks, or just joypads, with no stick at all They don't seem to make a joystick you can kick back with. The best thing I've found so far is a Gravis Game Pad Pro, which is a pad, but has a removeable stick. THe problem is I've had to return it TWICE because the stick is so dinky, it breaks off! It's the perfect design, they just need to up the quality. Good luck on yours. It's for a console huh? I'm sure someone around here will have your solution.

Any update on the Flashback 2.0?
jlh2600 replied to Zonie's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
^lol, that was strange... he usually does not use such caustic responses when people guess. It's real simple- if these make tons of money, then of course they will come out with something just enough of a step above the fb2 to justify buying as well. If not, this will be it for a while. But since THIS ONE has to be SOLD FIRST, even the very notion of a product worth waiting for has to be laughed off as an absurdity by the rep[s. (or else most of us would just wait) And actually, since (peculiarly) one came out to refute peoples' "what ifs" of what's to come, I'd say ideas are already in the works. Maybe instead of just peddling new paddles down the road, they will be available only with purchase of a whole new console altogether, programmed with only paddle games. (no memo lol, just what-iffing) -
Isn't there one with blood in the title? Bloody human freeway or something liike that? I played it for about three minutes lol.

Gotta be Demon Attack, one of my all-time favorite shoot-em ups for the 2600. I remember playing it for HOURS trying to master it. Now that this "2600 on a chip" is reality, I wonder if there will be any Korean/Chinese bootleg knockoffs? 864277 HELL YES!! (I had a feeling that was coming lol). It seems to be a love it or hate it game. I saw a thread not too long ago where people were supposed to list their top games (then it was all compiled with points to summarize an overall ranking). Demon attack was somewhere in the middle (did not break top 20), but it was the only game that was both called out as "the worst game ever" in one post, while someone else exclaimed its praise in bold, with no other title listed lol. -

They are clearing all these things out like mad. Circuit City has the two player 13in1 paddles for 15 bucks now (though the one playver version has been under twenty for some time). I imagine as we get closer to July, they will really be blowing them out.

ANyone know the timeline on release of the NEW paddles? btw on RR do you get less points for shooting a fuel tank AFTER getting fuel from it, as opposed to shooting it w/o getting fuel from it? Like if I just want to top off my tank, then waste the rest, same amount of points from the tank? -

Thats what I was thinking. Is your fave an imagic title btw?? -
"the 2600 had saved game feature. Playing Pitfall is a bitch without saved game feature. I hate to restart from the same point over and over!" Yeah I kind of like it w/out. THis way, it's like a sports season (stay w/me here lol). "THe regular season counts." Maybe not as much with Pitfall!, but in games where you can earn extra lives, initial levels count for something (in how much of an advantage you have when you reach previously unchartered territory; much like winning more games in the regular season gives a team home court in the playoffs). Otherwise, it would be like jumping straight to the playoffs... in November! And that would just be NUTS! PUT ME IN COACH! I can beat this level! BTW Hendra, not too long ago you mentioned that breakout was unplayable on your plug and play stick (agreed). Just wanted to give you a heads up that Circuit City now has the two player paddle plug&play on clearance for $15. EDIT: Wrong quote

Atari Announces Flashback 2.0
jlh2600 replied to Jetboot Jack's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
$29.95 isn't a lot considering all you are getting. Beyond just the games there's the novelty of the presentation box in the style of the old VCS days, the retro shape of the FB2, and you even get some authentic controllers that can be used on old consoles. As has been said above it's a nice novelty gift for young gamers, and you really can't go wrong at this price. I was just counting all the 2600 games I have. 35 games, mostly boxed and bought when the VCS was current. But, that's still less than the 40 that come with the FB2. 862614 No you're right it's a super buy for that. I was referring to the thirty dollars I paid for the plug and play paddles (two player version)- I guess I got ripped off on that. It's just hard to justify keeping them now (Ican still return them this week) if I can eventually get NEW, REAL paddles w.fb. But if it's a maybe thing, a next year thing, or ANOTHER thirty dollar thing, I may keep the plug and play. It's not much, but 30 +30 +30 adds up (for me). 862618 -

Now they just need to sit his ass down and let wade take over end of game. -

The Jakks paddle games are very good emulations, but they aren't the "real thing." If you have to ask, though, it doesn't matter. The Jakks paddle game is cheap, and it includes games that aren't on any version of the Flashback. Why worry? Keep what you have and get the FB2 when it comes out. It's not a lot of money. 861544 I guess thirty bucks is nothing to you, lol. Thanks though. I will consider keeping it, because I have been playing arcade breakout more than anything else on it anyways. Having to ask means I don't remember well enough to know the difference, but I still would prefer authenticity, if possible. Especially new. So would anyone (who thinks I'm worthy of an answer lol) care to tell me whether I will be able to play breakout on the fb2 with NEW paddles? -
2600 anthologies? More specifically, would someone who has the activision anthology and the converter please tell me if Kaboom works with the paddles on your pc?

860030 OK so will it play breakout with a paddle or not? Because I have a Jakks plug and play paddle on which I love breakout, circus atari, and night driver (except for the colors), but it was the same cost as the FB2 will be! So I have two weeks to left to return it, and I will do so if I will be able to play paddle games with new paddles eventually on FB2? And anyone familiar with Jakks Paddles- am I not "really" playing breakout (like the first FB)? If so, I should return it anyways, but wheth er I can buy new paddles, or if I have to deal w/Ebayians is a HUGE factor to me. -
WOW. THey have put lawyers on you, cease and desist style? So because of this no version of breakout exists where you have some degree of control?

The PC version of the Activision Anthology Remix is great, but I will not be going for it on gba, solely because they cut Demon Attack (from gba as well as PS2). I have heard this involved licensing, but how can that be? I mean, if Activision acquired Imagic in the 80’s, then who exactly is complaining that the games are being used in an anthology? On Remix for the PC, the scrolling “Imagic” gets replaced by a scrolling “Activision” in Demon Attack (similarly on Atlantis); but who could object, and on what grounds? Now what’s really odd is that these two Imagic titles (Demon Attack and Atlantis) are the ONLY ones Activision felt the need to put their name on. There are a total of EIGHTEEN Imagic games in the collection, and the rest appear unaltered. So why, when included for PC, would Activision possibly have to leave off Demon Attack and Atlantis for the PS2 and GBA? Could this be related to the fact that those are the only two games whose screens had “Imagic” replaced with “Activision”? BTW- I have seen conflicting sources on this. According to most http://www.deeko.com/handhelds/reviewdetail.asp?id=241 , no demon attack or atlantis. But according to http://www.gamepublic.com/ps2/activision-anthology/ http://www.gamepublic.com/gba/activision-anthology/ , both games are on all platforms! Is it possible there are two versions out there? (mistakenly cc'd in classic gaming)
