  1. I had bought three of them in the past?, one for me, one for my daughter (also a big ATARI fan?), and one - out of good nature- to a member of the ABBUC-Forum for the standard price... Unfortunately I regret it... ☹️ Not because of the ABBUC member, but because I didn't know, that the time for the next batch of the Sophia is still light years ahead... ? Cheers, andY
  2. Good news ?! I guess, this weekend the new XE cases will be officially available in the store ?! But I will still inform you personally when it is so far.... Cheers, andY
  3. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention this explicitly: The ECI port is of course already considered here.... Cheers, andY
  4. Hi Mathy, here some closer pictures of the 3D-Part, it is not visually spectacular, but fits perfectly and works well ? Cheers, andY
  5. So guys! It is done?! I got my first "production-ready", "trial" XE-case and used the time to assemble it today. A manual was not yet included (this will be created soon). But the assembly went relatively quickly, I'm super satisfied, it all fits and of course looks very cool?! Also for the critical unlocking mechanism of the "old XL/400/800"- modules Micha has come up with an ingenious trick: He created a 3D-attachment, which you simply "clamp" onto the mainboard-module-port (it fits perfectly, nothing wobbles and it works fine). Tests with old modules also work perfectly (see also pictures) I already got a matching brushed aluminum label (ATARI 130XE), that looks quite cool in black/silver I think?. (But it´s not fixed at the moment, I have to think about the position where it looks most aesthetic.) I will discuss my rebuilding experiences with Micha after easter days and I think, it´s ready for production! So all of you, who have pre-ordered here or announced their interest, can assume, that it will start soon!. But enough said, here are a few pictures which give a first first impression (see attached)..... Cheers, andY
  6. Nothing special, but here my own Falcon030 mug for lefties, like me ?
  7. Thanks Claus, for adding me to the 400´s list too ??! Cheers, andY
  8. Thanks Claus, for adding me to the 800´s list ??! Cheers, andY
  9. Like BillC said: all NTSC´s except the BZ113612 one...
  10. Hi Fell, the 800XL case is already available, here: -> Acrylic case for 800XL ? The seller (Plexilaser) takes care of all orders and he also ships to the USA. For details feel free to send him a request on his website. The XE case is still in progress and not ready yet. As soon as the XE case is finally available I will bring an update here. Then it can also be ordered via the Plexilaser website. Cheers, andY
  11. Also here unfortunately strongly delayed, but here already once the first four from my 400'er collection. I also have about 7 more pieces in stock, I'll add them soon?. ATARI 400 - 015603 stamp 082 (4 Pics) ATARI 400 - 113612 stamp 152 (2 Pics) ATARI 400 - 307039 stamp 372 (2 Pics) ATARI 400 - 371967 no stamp (Last Pic) Cheers, andY
  12. Unfortunately much delayed, but here already once the first three from my 800'er collection. I still have about 8 more pieces in stock, I will add them soon ?. ATARI 800 - 316641 ATARI 800 - 380725 ATARI 800 - 405198 The first and the second one unfortunately has no stamp in the case, nor a handwritten label (guess, it´s lost after the years) Cheers, andY
  13. Minor Update: The XE case is coming along Here is the first prototype version with XE style vents. The biggest challenge at the moment is the modeling for the unlocking mechanism of the "old" 400/800/XL modules. I had sent Micha the 3 module versions (see attached) as templates (XL version, XE version and ThirdParty version). Does anyone of you know other original variants (no 3D printing or self-made), which differ from the plug-in mechanism of these three still strongly? Cheers, andY
  14. Cool, but unfortunately few steps behind ?, ´cause we talk about a new "XE Design" case, NOT the old 800XL acrylic design case... But your vid is still cool ? Btw: The manufacturer is the same ? Cheers, andY
  15. So folks, I am happy to present you the first WIP update (see pictures attached) ? Here are the first prototype drafts from Micha (Plexilaser) regarding XE case design. However, he still plans to lower the keyboard a bit.... Also the slanted ventilation slots on the deck side (like on the original are planned....) But here again the question to all interested: Regarding special requests: andY
  16. Why? The question is very simple to answer: Because you can.... ? No seriously, what you missed, this is not about an ATARI XL, we talk about the ATARI XE series.... And this is about modding and there are unfortunately very, very many extremely yellowed XE cases on the market. For many owners it is an upgrade that his yellowed XE computer after the conversion simply looks nicer and more elegant and you can see the internal technology too. I own a lot of XL and XE (also various single motherboards) some of them have cases in terrible condition, why not give them a new home? Some love it, some just don't... ? Nobody has to do this... Cheers, andY
  17. Don't worry, the first version that will be available is the one with the ECI port ?! Cheers, andY
  18. Short "Work in Progress" Update 03/04/22: The manufacturer (Plexilaser) has currently started modeling the XE case design. The challenge at the moment is the module port, which on the XE is mapped by the rear panel of the enclosure. (For comparison: on the XL the module port is directly on the mainboard and therefore does not need to be modeled by the case). I will now send him a selection of different module variants in the short term so that he can verify this. After that it will be decided whether he will realize the module/ECI port over an extra printed 3D part, or further over a conventional acrylic solution. Thats all for now, guys... I will keep you uptodate. Gtx., andY
  19. Hi marss, the system is currently not installed, so it would be a big effort to rebuild all and make a video. But what are your specific questions? Maybe I can answer them this way.... Cheers, andY
  20. Hi Hoagtech, sorry for delayed answer, but I´ll try to respond all your question as good as possible: 1. No, I have used the card without housing. 2. I don't do without WIFI directly, I just use a commercial USB mini dongle for WIFI/BT instead. 3. 4 lanes: Yes this limits the performance, but it is still amazingly good 4. no, anyway I wouldn't risk that, because the GPU then takes power only from the VCS and the VCS doesn't provide enough. The VCS and the GPU are each powered separately 5. I use a full ATX power supply, because the GTX 1060 consumes up to about 130Watt, a Pico-PSU can't do that or only with difficulty. 6. the GPU-DOCK HDMI to NGFF M.2 cable is very thin, you could lead it out of the VCS case without much modification I hope I could help you a bit to answer your questions... Cheers., andY
  21. Short update, for all interested parties: Current status today: Plexilaser now gets from me a 130XE and a 800XL keyboard (the one with the "deviating" mounting dimensions) as a model/sample. 1. they will now model a new case for the XE series (and yes, we will consider the Tramiel economy version WITHOUT ECI port ?) 2. they will adapt the current 800XL case so that now all 800XL keyboards will fit in the future. Okay, well, that's the current state of today for you. Cheers, andY
  22. Hi Ivop, this is not about business, it's about the fact that I, and with me a few other users, would like to have a case for the XE line and I may be able to persuade the manufacturer to model a case for the XE series. To your mentioned cons: 1. That depends on your skills, if has prepared well for the conversion and works professionally, there are no scratches 2. As described above, there are two different mounting brackets on the keyboard. The manufacturer was only aware of ONE of them, so the second version does not fit properly. We have already informed the manufacturer about this and he will offer a second version with adapted suspension. 3. The same would happen to you with an ATARI 800 or ATARI 400, so I prefer basically NOT to drop my devices.... ? Cheers, andY
