  1. They're being sold with a 3D-printed case in Brazil, so I hope that makes it to the rest of us eventually:

I picked one up to try with the 8bitdo NEOGEO controller. I hope I can get it to work wired or, preferably, wireless.

This episode shows two kids playing a 2600.  Except I don't remember any white controllers bits.  Almost looks like maybe a commodore controller.  I thought they weren't compatible.

Looks like a Commodore 1311 controller to me.

The CRT is displaying an image without a cartridge inserted. I think that's a 5200 screen?

There's a "misterious" switch on the back, (to select aspect ratio between 4:3/16:9? or between 2600/7800 emulation?), and if it's software controlled maybe it might be repurposed to bring up a menu.

I believe it's a 16:9 / 4:3 switch. I copied this image from their announcement trailer, flipped it and zoomed a little:

  4. Yes, I have this same issue. My console is stock - no AV mod, no recapping.

From a cold start (console has been off for several hours) it can take as long as 45 minutes for me to have problems with the menu. Once the console has warmed up, I’ve seen it happen after 7 minutes.

I have to power cycle three times - two times doesn’t always work.

  5. Here is some more footage of the game without the screen transition glitches. Is this running from a cartridge on a 2600, or in Stella using a controller with a USB adapter? I don't know. The mystery deepens. I hope @ZeroPage Homebrew can address these issues during the interview today.

  6. It was an email. I got the same one:

"Unfortunately, our eCommerce platform became overwhelmed due to so many orders it was not properly adjusting stock quickly enough which allowed the 7800 GameDrive to oversell. You are receiving this email because your order was one of the oversold." And so on.

They did offer $15 store credit and 1000 tickets (also exchangeable for store credit) as recompense. If I keep ordering the 7800GD from SAG, and their system keeps failing like this, I'll eventually get it for free!

Is this with the same USB cable?

Yes, it was the same cable. I tried two different cables, actually, on MiSTer and in Stella, but didn't notice a difference between them. In all cases, touching the metal shield around the DE-9 connector eliminated jitter. I'll try to cobble together a video demonstrating what happens in Stella, but that might take me a while. And I still have to test these paddles on original equipment.

  8. I haven't tried my paddles on original hardware yet, so I can't rule out that they're still defective in some way. That's next on my to-do list. I do appreciate the time you're taking to make MiSTer users happy.

Have you tried playing on a regular PC/laptop?  Do you see this jitter there?  If not, then this grounding problem might be an issue with the MiSTer hardware.

I just tried in Stella and see the same behavior. I had been passing this off as a problem with my paddles, but now I think something else is wrong. The soldering on my adapter looks OK, though.

I might be able to help with the jitter; I ran into this issue myself with a pair of upgraded Best paddles that work flawlessly on original hardware.

In my case, I found that by touching the metal D9 port on the adaptor, the jitter disappeared entirely.

I can only assume this is a grounding issue of some sort, but haven’t diagnosed this any further yet.

Wow, you're right. I've been struggling with the same problem. I tore apart the pots in my paddles and cleaned everything thoroughly - still had jitter with every firmware, including the one released today. I've been considering new pots from Best. Saw your post, touched the shield around the D9's port, and the jitter disappeared. Curious.

Well, it took a while, but with Alphie as my wingman I finally broke through the 1000 point barrier.

Thank you for the wonderful game, Andrew, and the excellent patch to boot. Your graphic artist also deserves a round of applause. I really like the lived-in look of the manual with creases, clippings and coffee stains.

RAPTOR is no sophomore slump, and I look forward to your future endeavors.
