Astrocart: Magical, reflashable 512KB homebrew cart
Sonaru replied to hxlnt's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
Any update on a flashcart type device? It qould be nice to select the game with an onscreen menu instead of using dip switches. It would also open up the possibility of saving high scores. -
Could you possibly make one for me? The one on raphnet is $45 because shipping is very expensive right now because of the dumb pandemic. I would make one myself but I lack the fine motor skills to build my own.
-
That's neat! I am actually looking for something the other way around. Meaning a female snes to male nes to allow snes controllers to be playable on a nes.

I'd like to buy a custom SNES to NES Controller Adapter. Could someone create one for me?

Does anyone know what controllers are supported on Brook's PS4 controller adapter via the USB input? I wanted to use a Sega Saturn Retrobit controller but that didn't work. I also tried using an Xbox one controller connected via USB but that didn't work either. I actually don't have any PS3 or PS4 controllers. I was hoping that there would be compatibility with other controllers I have but so far that isn't the case. Thanks for your help!

Were the "E" serial numbers the first production run? I found a Atari on ebay that is serial number 006071. Is this possibly an older unit manufactured before the E Series? It might actually be a two sticker unit but it's hard to tell. Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ATARI-2600-SYSTEM-HEAVY-SIXER-VERY-LOW-SERIAL-NUMBER-6071-SUNNYVALE-RARE-/303497891034?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

Is this an NTSC model? -
I'm looking to buy a Magnavox Odyssey 2 console that has detachable (grey) joysticks.
-
What controllers are compatible with the Odyssey 2 first revision that had detachable grey joysticks? Would a sega genesis 3 button controller work with this system? I just want to make sure that the Odyssey 2 controller ports aren't wired differently from a standard DE9 port which could cause damage to the system or controller. Thank you!

My model 1 Intellivision has a broken controller for player 2. The controller works but the plastic housing is broken and snapped apart. I was wondering if there were any replacement aftermarket controllers I can buy? None on ebay. I could also buy a new plastic controller shell and move the old pcb over to the new shell. Thank you!

Could you upload some pictures of serial numbers below 5,000 if you have any? -

That looks like a normal Intellivision box except for the sticker. Are any of the game photos prototypes? -
Colecovision Sega Controller 2 Action Buttons?

Yeah same here, only I got blisters from the N64 paddle as a kid. Especially from Mario Party 1! -

Thank you! Also your low serial number helps confirms my belief that 500 units or less were sold in its test launch. Also I found an old newspaper image that said only Sylvania units would be available for sale by Christmas of 1979 and that Mattel's own units were further postponed. Is your test market box a Sylvania model? -
Colecovision Sega Controller 2 Action Buttons?
Sonaru replied to Sonaru's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Retrogameboyz was kind and helpful when I asked him on his ebay store account if he could test a sega 3 button controller with one of his Y-Cable splitters. He helped me find out that the colecovision controller and Sega controller interfere with each other when used in conjunction. He also sells great joystick style controllers for various systems which I'm interested in but I'd first like to get a traditional sega gamepad. I think people like the original NES controller mostly because of its simple yet iconic design. -
How can I transfer my stella save file to my SaveKey on my physical atari?

Does anyone have a picture of a test market release console box? Also any pictures of the serial number on the bottom of the test market console? I'm trying to collect a 1979 test market console but can't find much info on these units. Thanks! -
Would it be possible to build an analog controller for the Jag?
Sonaru replied to spiffyone's topic in Atari Jaguar
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has there been any update on analog stick controls for the Jaguar? It would be interesting to see developers take advantage of one or two analog sticks for 3d shooter games. -
Colecovision Sega Controller 2 Action Buttons?
Sonaru replied to Sonaru's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Thanks for the photos! I like the button mapping; having 1 for start makes sense. Do you use existing sega controllers or do you build your own to make it compatible with the colecovision? How much do you sell these controllers for? I found an custom NES styled cpntroller selling for $45 on ebay but I'm not why people buy those seeing that the NES controller is very uncomfortable (and only has 4 buttons). Please send me a message when you are making these again! -
The Official Intellivision Serial Number Database
Sonaru replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Ok good to know! My guess is that maybe 500 or less were sold at test launch seeing how it was marketed in only certain stores in one city in California. Maybe these test launch units had a unique serial number designation? Do you know how many units were made in America before they switch over to Hong Kong? I think it around 150,000 units were first produced in America (according to the units sold on ebay). In late 1980 or early 1981, they would have switched over to Hong Kong by then. It bothers me a little when I see the test launch year for game systems being used as the year of release. I feel like the NES was not truly released in the U.S. until 1986 even though Nintendo officially says 1985 as the release date. Same with the Intellivision. Can we really say that this was a 1979 game console when 500 units or less were sold in a small test market? -
Colecovision Sega Controller 2 Action Buttons?
Sonaru replied to Sonaru's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
That's great to hear! I'm guessing you have 8 buttons on a 6 button Genesis controller because you use the start and mode buttons? What buttons are not mapped to the colecovision gamepad? The numbers 7, 8, 9, and # aren't used very often as far as I can tell. I know 1 or * is used to start most games and that 0 is used as a pause button for games that support it. -

I can't find any info on how many systems were sold during the 1979 test launch. Also what is the difference between model numbers 2609 and the much more common 2609A?
