  1. The first model Intellivision has removable controllers if you take it apart. I was wondering if there were any Intellivision controllers with a more conventional styled layout similar to a Sega gamepad? Are there any adapters to convert the Intellivision controller port to a standard DE-9 port?
  2. Does anyone know of a way to convert a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive controller to be compatible with two button trigger games on the ColecoVision? Would a Master System controller work? Also has anyone heard of the Joy-Sensor controller by Suncom? It looks more ergonomic than the original controller but it might be less responsive. I can't find any information of that controller online. Mostly I just want an ergonomic controller to use with the ColecoVision. I know that there is a expensive large arcade style controller and that there is a custom NES style controller but I'm looking for something that's both ergonomic and has a dpad. Thank you for your help.
  3. Oh I didn't realize it would only work for specific games designed for the multiplayer adapter. Where can I purchase this QuadAtari adapter? Also does this adapter mean you can actually have four players at the same time? That's awesome!
  4. I like these ideas. While on the topic of the SaveKey, does anyone remember the name of the adapter that lets you play two player games while the Atarivox is plugged into the second controller port?
  5. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm very interested in backing up save data from the SaveKey to my PC. Does anyone have a method to backup save data at this point in time? I'd like to buy an Atarivox or SaveKey but if there isn't a method to backup save data, then I won't be able to purchase one. I sometimes use emulators when traveling so being able to transfer save data between my laptop and Atari console would be great.
  6. Will there ever be an SD cart version? SD flash carts have a theoretical lifespan of 50 years. Standard flashcarts only last 20 years. Also an SD flash cart is much more convenient for loading games and backing up save files. To have to physically remove the cartridge from the console takes more effort and it damages the cartridge pins with each insertion. It's better to have it left in the console and to just insert a SD cart to save wear and tear on the console and on the flash cart itself.
  7. Can you tell me the list of things I'd need to buy and the flash program I need? I'd like to have a way to backup the SaveKey before I purchase one. Thank you.
  8. Is there anyway to backup save game data such as high scores to a computer? Before I decide to purchase a SaveKey, I just wanted to check if I can backup my data so that I can transfer my saves to an emulator if I'm ever traveling and not at home. It would also be great to backup my saves for data preservation. I'd love to have a micro SD port or a micro USB port on the SaveKey to make it easier to connect to a computer. Thank you for your help!
  9. I will get a Mister eventually. It's nice to own original consoles at least for its aesthetic and to help understand the type of games that were released on the original systems back in the day. I find it easy to lose interest when I try playing Atari games on an emulator with my laptop because I also have modern PC games on it. But when I play on a original console like the Atari, it helps me appreciate the type of games made for the system given its limitations. It places me in the mindset of enjoying the games for what they are instead of drawing comparisons to newer games when I use a emulator on a phone or PC.
  10. I agree that the prices these days are really inflated. I'm not sure if prices will ever drop at some point. I really should've bought either console a few years ago when they were cheap.
  11. Thank you for the tip! That's what I was leaning towards. Also the Jaguar units are more reliable so I don't have to worry about it breaking if I ever plan on reselling it.
  12. Sometimes it's tempting to get a cheap unit when one is available below $200. I replace capacitors and other components but the ram and cpu chips are a different story.
  13. What are the chances of a Bally Astrocade being broken if I were to buy an untested unit on ebay? I've been meaning to either pick up a Bally Aatrocade or an Atari Jaguar but might go with an Astrocade because it sells for less on average.
  14. Hi everyone. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Bally Astrocade or an Atati Jaguar. They're both rare and expensive consoles so I can only buy one or the other. I'm looking to buy either system if I can find a working system that pops up below $200 USD but that's probably not going to happen.
  15. Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a working Atari Jaguar system for an reasonable (but negotiable) price. I can also buy a broken Jaguar system for a reasonable price. I'd prefer to buy the console only to keep costs low. That would be great if anyone can help me out with this. I would like to try and get into the homebrew scene and maybe do some romhacking to improve some old games. I'm also looking for an Bally Astrocade console. Thank you.
  16. This would be great to have a multicart. I'll get one when they become available but I will need to get a console first. How much will it be when they come out?
