  1. I hate that stupid virus. I must get 10 copies of it a day. Alot of different variations prentending to be pictures or audio... one said "me.nude.mpg.scr" - yuck. One of my online businesses gets 500 emails a day and they are all forwarded through my personal email... /shudder.
  2. Agreed! Just sold another for $560.00. This one is alot closer to reality though... 167 games with several difficult to find. However, this person also has 0 feedback and I haven't heard from them yet...
  3. Surprise! (They paid paypal.) Remember that during Christmas there are a few extra factors... people want the very best (the auction presentation is pretty good), they feel better about paying more (when it's a gift for a loved one - some people actually look for the highest price vs. lowest), they want assurance (this goes to the reputation of the seller: both feedback and the fact that the seller sells ALOT of Atari Systems - as opposed to someone selling the dusty lot from their attic). Anyway, that is just my take from what I have experienced. (...plus the fact everyone goes crazy-mad this time of year.)
  4. quote: Originally posted by tomyou: Still if they get a good system and are satisfied then the money is well worth it. I concur. If they are pleased, and I can see no reason why they wouldn't be, then it was a good deal at $253 or $2530. Remember, someone else had to bid $250.00 for this person to win it at $253.00. Amazing though, huh?
  5. Well, it is a pretty darn good Christmas present, but "perfect Christmas present" just seemed so much better than "pretty darn good Christmas present."
  6. $253 for 2600 and 31 common games! This one too...
  7. I have a Bally Arcade. (they look alike and I was told they are the same) I have no controllers (otherwise I would have sold it). I bought it on eBay for $5.00 (buy it now). It has the original power, but the casing for the plug is cracked and taped. works. I also have about 8 games or so. I just bought 1 controller on eBay last night ($9.99 buy it now - heh, twice as much as the system)
  8. quote That made me spit Pepsi all over my monitor.
  9. Hey, that website is visually the coolest thing I have seen in a LONG time. My highest compliments!
  10. Remember though, it is getting closer to Christmas. I am selling woodgrain 4 switches with 100 different games and getting about $235-$275, but the closer it gets to Christmas these prices are gonna jump about $100. Last December I was listing Atari Jrs with four games (combat, missle command, pac man, and space invaders - the only unique games I had left) for $60.00 "buy it now" and they were all selling within hours of being listed. I'm not saying you should spend $100 canadian on a junior and 10 games... but the guy might have been speaking the truth about what he expects to recieve. It gets crazy in December. Edit: To see if he's telling the truth, check his past auctions to see what his jrs were ending at... [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: sway3 ]
  11. My goal was to purchase a couple stand-ups to accommodate my new store (coming in June). I have been able to get a couple (Ninja Gaiden and Rastan - paid $300 total), but I can not remember the name of my favorite game. It played exactly like Ikari Warriors (and I actually thought it was just Ikari Warriors 2). It had an original name though... but the 2 Ikari Warrior guys were in it and it used the 360 degree joystick and fire/grenade buttons. Anyone have any idea? (probably around 1984 or so) BTW, I'm also planning to get Police Trainer and/or Area 51 (modern) and Arkanoid and Galaga 88 and/or Raiden. Edit: I also remember getting stuck at this one end boss where you had to throw grenades ito the mouth of this moster to beat it... [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: sway3 ]
  12. I don't think their motivation came from what was being put in their mind...

    Joypad rarity?

When no one is looking, I use my Sega Genesis controllers on my Atari 2600 & 7800. (shhhh) I tried offering them with my systems on eBay, but there was 0 interest. I eventually bought a few cases of Gemtek controllers and they have been very well received (of course, they look alot like the original Atari joysticks). Oh, I got my Genesis controllers for $2.99 a pair at Toys R Us (on clearance) and I saw some at K Mart last night... [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: sway3 ]
  14. Okay, okay, I can see how high the demand is... I will unleash all my spare mint Combat carts for the cost of shipping alone (~0.80$ or so). First come, first serve. I believe I can only accomodate the first 300 people or so - so act now! heh
  15. Had to put it on eBay... sorry, but I get burned too much in trades... Death Trap on eBay London Blitz Master Builder NTSC Stargunner (color version) All my rare/semi rare games...
  16. I would like a copy if one remains. sway3@tampabay.rr.com. My brother and I will both give you feedback (he knows more than I do about atari programming, etc).
  17. quote Yes, and come with a tiny live person to play it.
  18. I'm new to this message board... but not new to eBay. There are 3 very effective ways to get the best possible price: Buy at non-peak hours - and avoid 9pm-11pm est - you will notice a strong increase in bids/prices during peak hours. Use a bid Sniper* - auctionstealer.com is free - this will avoid a bidding war. Check recently listed auctions for good "buy it now" prices. You'll be AMAZED! Of course, these techniques work on all auctions, but mine. Anyway, I'm sure this is old-hat to most of you and many of you can probably add much to this list, but to anyone new... this will save you alot of money and frustration (bidding wars). *An auction runs until a certain time and ANY bid before that end time is perfectly valid. Some will say that sniping is not fair, but they are clearly wrong. I figure they just get outbid by me so often that they are bitter. [ 11-25-2001: Message edited by: sway3 ]
  19. Atari was saying: "We're drowning and, therefore, can not afford the colored ink."* *actual boardroom quote
  20. I actually got a pretty rare game in trade that was shrinkwrapped and looked completely original to me. However, after I sold it (shudder, I know I know), I got an email that it was not original. I was very embarrassed. Fortunately, the purchaser was still satisfied and happy with his purchase... but it has made me very uncomfortable selling small company games "still" shrinkwrapped.
