  1. I had to quit that one, so that's all. I wanted to roll it again just for old time sake (it doesn't get faster past 1 mil), but real life/family restrictions don't allow me to leave the PC on for 2-3 days.
  2. You don't always get the extra shot in (likely sprite limits at work), but it can make all the difference later when you *must* hit that smart bomb ASAP.
  3. Awesome scores and thanks for the advice! That's what I've seen as well. Can't think of another game where you can legitimately give up after 10 seconds of play. Lol.
  4. Got my groove back. ? I think it came down to rembering the game is all about hyperspace once it gets really fast, which for me is still above 750k. So I went full hyperspace and autofire, which was better but still having issues. I then shifted my grip so I have my thumb on hyperspace but my ring finger cradling the opposite side fire button and that did the trick. Only barely gaining lives above 1 mil and my hands are trembling while writing this, but I did get +9 lives from 1mil to 1.1mil. Not sure how long I'll stick with it, but I'll try to get 2 mil at least for Matt. 1,104,390 - Disc speed
  5. 91 - Football I see 98 is definitely possible since I've had 49 with more than half the clock to go, but many, many, many attempts would be necessary for that.
  6. For Sharp Shot, can I get a ruling on whether we need to see a "zero" on the other player's score, or if I'm allowed to pound on the 2nd player fire button to help with the respawn rate? I seem to be getting higher scores when doing the latter. Edit - Looks like in prior seasons, folks were just doing single player (zero for the other score) and high scores are perfectly possible. Maze high score appears to be 48 by Ignorama in season 9, by the way
  7. 26 - maze Okay, so is the secret to single player in this one just wishful thinking they'll keep coming to your side once they start pillaging the inactive player?
  8. Well, commence the disappointment then... 700k and 106 lives when the 'F you' that is 750k came around... Wow. 770,610 - Disc speed I'd like to thank the HSC in general, and Astrosmash in particular, for this reminder of aging and my own mortality...
  9. Looking like more of a problem than I thought. The 500k difficulty spike is proving problematic for me. Score - Lives 200k - 100 400k - 150 500k - 175 600k - 135 Probably can eek out 1 mil, but I don't appear to be playing sustainably at this point. Those smart bombs... ugh.
  10. Played a little bit at lunch, managed 200k in 30 minutes, but it's starting to get a little tougher there. Barely gaining lives, so we'll see how long term I can go or not. Definitely like this game better than Star Hawk (or Dracula!) for marathon play.
  11. Always worth giving things a try. I didn't find hard all that much tougher than medium. If the controls were any less horrid, then hard would actually be a really fun play experience. If the controls were any more horrid, it would have been made by Coleco. Zing!
  12. Okay, someone reminded me that on hard, you can't return to the graveyard until you've made the daily quota of kills, so that's why I wanted to play again. Last time I lost because I tried to get back in at 5am with 3 kills still left, but of course that didn't work out well.
  13. It's pretty fun, control issues notwithstanding, and I wanted another go after you reminded me that I shouldn't be hanging around the cemetery gates at 5am hoping to get in. ?
  14. One dude short that day... Did manage to clear the 20 victims round. I think 23 or 24 is theoretically possible, but you'd need an awfully clean run. 19,500 - hard
