  1. I forgot about delisted games. I have a few like Earthworm Jim HD, R-Types, R-Type Delta, and maybe a few others. Meanwhile, I didn't know After Burner Climax existed until I found out that it longer exists. Also interesting that you'd mention emulating the NES/SNES games on Switch, as the Switch itself emulates those games (and others). It is as simple as not subscribing, though, and I don't. It is extremely disappointing that I will never get to play Super Mario Maker 2 and Pokemon because of this, though I suppose I can still play Super Mario Maker on the Wii U and Pokemon on 3DS, as those servers are still up... for now. I don't expect them to stay up for long, though. As I don't like digital games but still buy them if there is no other option, I keep all of my things stored on the microSD. Only the Switch OS is on the system storage. Physical keeps storage prices down. Anyway, the system is still great. I personally believe that the Switch has the second best library out of all handheld/portable things if you want to consider it that. If you want to call it a home console, it's within my top 5, I think. Overall between the two types, I'd say it's very high up there and will continue to get better unless Nintendo decides to cancel production and insta-brick all of our systems in a firmware update to force us to stop playing them. That won't happen, of course.
  2. Red Orchestra is really damn awesome and if you like WW2 FPS, RO2 is the best active WW2 multiplayer shooter there is. Single-player is basically multiplayer with bots, but standard multiplayer has bots anyway, so you might as well play that. Also RO2 single player got removed, so if you didn't have it prior to the removal, you can't play it. You lost nothing of value, though.
  3. The only one on there now is $750 NIB, unfortunately. I got a regular Intellivision demo unit (!) for $100 a few weeks ago and it came in the mail 3 days ago. Might pick up a Tandyvision one when I get paid in a few days since those are plentiful and reasonably cheap (comparatively).
  4. Damn that looks beautiful. Now I may have to buy both one of these and a Tandyvision one.
  5. You know what? Wouldn't this technically work as a Mirror's Edge movie? Also, just this gave me this idea.
  6. Maybe the RetroPad32 might work. It says it works with joysticks and it does work with Neo Geo controllers and systems. You will need the special add-on thingy he makes to get it to work with the Neo Geo system, though. I'm also not sure if he is referring to controllers in general as "joysticks" but I think it might be worth checking out. http://www.brunofreitas.com/node/84
  7. I can't believe I missed this post, but this game is awesome. I don't have the Switch version since it came out way earlier on PC, but I played it for at least 80 hours before beating it and the whole thing was great and I never once got bored. An excellent game overall, and I hope more people play it.
  8. You know what? The Sega CD is region locked. Are these new prints region-locked? I imagine they are, so there is not much point for me. I COULD dump them and put them on my MegaSD... but I already dumped my Japanese Rebel Assault and put it on there. I'd also prefer to play both of these on Mac/PC, as well. Off-topic, but I did read their Twitter just now and they responded to someone's request for Rogue Squadron series for Switch. Not sure how well the GameCube games would work without the analog shoulder buttons, but I'll take it!
  9. With or without the Sega CD? I personally like the Japanese MD a bit more, but I wish the 16-BIT on the Japanese version wasn't so huge! They toned it down for the other regions, though, and the Brazilian Mega Drive is basically the Japanese design but with the smaller non-Japanese 16-BIT thing. Looks like it sadly does not have the awesome and pointless AV INTELLIGENT TERMINAL HIGH GRADE MULTIPURPOSE USE on it, though.
  10. I personally consider anything released on or after 30 October 1987 to be modern, but I'm weird and eccentric and everyone is going to tell me that I'm wrong, and that's okay.
  11. The thing with this is that most kids these days treat games as disposable, and a lot of modern games are. Play it, throw it in the trash or sell it, buy the newest of the 17.8 (got to count DLC, after all!) identical sequels they have released, repeat. Therefore, I think most people who grew up with post 5th or 6th gen consoles would be okay with losing these subscription games because they can just get something else. Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope I am, but I highly doubt these games will continue to be available after the servers are gone. Anyway, the Switch is great aside from the no free online. I mentioned it in I think the thread on incomplete games, but I'm never buying Pokemon ever again because I refuse to pay for online. No online = no trading = not playing. A sad decision, but we'd all be lying if we said we didn't see it coming. BTW I hope your PlayStation (4?) games are physical so you can still play them. I guess your digital games get locked if they kill your account but physicals are still playable.
  12. What's going to happen to these when the servers get shut down? What's going to happen to the "free" games for PS+? I don't know if Xbox has something like that, but same question if it does. Will these things remain playable? My guess is "no" but maybe I'm wrong. Aside from pay to play online, which is wrong and shouldn't exist, the system itself is very good. I bought it just for Shin Megami Tensei V back when it was being hinted at but before it was actually announced. I gambled and won, because they announced it maybe 2 weeks later. Every other game on the system is basically just a bonus for me.
  13. Nope. That's RF/AV and uses something different. Take a look at the illustration of it here, and I have gone and translated a little bit of it for you guys. No Google Translate required! http://dempa.jp/rgb/heaven/g_wm2.html 勘違いしている人がいるようですが、ワンダーメガ系にはMD2互換のAV出力端子は付いていません。 したがって、MD/MD2系の映像ケーブル類は一切使えません。= It seems there are people who misunderstand, but the Wondermegas are not equipped with MD2 compatible AV output. Therefore, MD/MD2-style video cables of any sort can't be used. It does seem that Victor offered an official RGB mod to get RGB -> 32X support, though, and this is where the altered CD tray cover is mentioned as well. -> ビクターへ送ってスーパー32X対応化の改修をしてもらい、32X経由でMD2用RGBケーブルを使うのが正式な作法です。改修するとトレイカバーが交換され、32Xと接続する専用ケーブルが付属します。 It also seems I have found Japanese RetroRGB! I also want to add that if it was the Wondermega RG-M1, I would buy it without hesitation because that thing is seriously awesome. Thread is quasi-derailed, but at least we're still keeping it relevant to using the 32X with it.
  14. I don't think Snatcher will get a rerelease any time soon except for PC Engine Mini. I haven't played that version yet, but I have heard PC Engine is the best version and is also the last version that Kojima actually worked on. He was busy with something else (I think Policenauts) when the Sega CD port was made. I wish I had the Justifier so I could try playing it with that on the CRT, though I think the game has not got a whole lot of replay value in general, sadly. Once was probably enough for me, but I would be lying if I didn't turn it on sometimes just for the music in the OP. Good thing Sega CD has a "built-in sound test" in the form of the CD player + Red Book audio in most games.
  15. I guarantee something like this is exactly what will happen. I would be very interested if they released sales figures for these. I also wonder if someone will leave one sealed and then scalp it on Ebay for $400.
  16. Yeah, it seems they removed RGB for S-video. They actually made a converter box that looks kind of like an RF switch so you can do S-video -> 32X. At that point, I am pretty sure I'd be getting S-video quality for the MD-rendered stuff and RGB quality for the 32X rendered stuff if I used HD Retrovision. As far as I know, the only difference between the Wondermega RG-M2 and the X'Eye is the manufacturer (Victor vs JVC), the name of the system, language of the CD BIOS, and the region being set to NTSC-J instead of NTSC-U. USA never got the Wondermega RG-M1, though, and that one is really cool looking. I have seen a handful of RG-M2s here (or maybe it was the same one sitting there unsold, which is rare for Super Potato), but none of them had the 32X CD cover. That thing is super rare. Mega Drive is considerably more expensive here, though. The only Sonic & Knuckles I was able to find at all in Akiba when I bought mine was 9000 yen cart-only, and Japanese Comix Zone is over $1000. Both of those are probably sub-$10 in the USA. At least they used to be. They also have a US CDX for 93,000 yen, as well, but that's considered a rare import, and even that is still WAY cheaper and easier to find than the Japanese equivalent (Linguaphone Education Gear). Anyway, I will look into the 32X + Wondermega combo some more. I am even more uncertain about buying it now since I can get a Neo Geo for the same price or less.
  17. I think the MGS V PS4 is awesome. Too bad about "molybdeum" though. I don't know if this got a US release, but Japan and Europe got it.
  18. Have you tried Rebel Assault on PC/Mac with joystick? It's basically a reasonably long arcade shooter if you do it like that. Highly enjoyable and recommended if you like those types of games. As for Working Designs, the only thing I have really played is the Mega-CD version of Popful Mail. The Japanese is easy to understand, so I have had no problems understanding the story or anything and I also don't have to put up with the crazy difficulty increase. I did try the PC Engine version of Cadash for a few minutes the other day before trying the TurboGrafx-16 version. I saw their logo on the developer's splash screen before the game started and instantly shut off my PC Engine.
  19. "Only" seeing $152 used and no NIB sold, but this is still terrifying. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Beavis+and+Butthead+tiger+game&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
  20. I actually broke the forum rules and posted this in the Genesis section as well, and over there I mentioned to whoever it was that replied over there that since they sold out and are aware of the problem, this will be fixed before anyone is able to buy them again. I was going to buy them when they were announced at $10 each. At this crazy price, no way. Oddly, shipping to Japan is only about $30.
  21. I actually have a (Japanese Mega-CD) copy of Rebel Assault. It's not very good due to the color palette limitations and the lack of a joystick. And I mean like an actual joystick joystick, like the type you fly a real aircraft with. I would much rather play the Mac version that I grew up with, preferably with a joystick like I did back then. Or the PC version that I didn't grow up with because it's probably 100% identical to the Mac version. I've never played Secret of Monkey Island on any platform, but same thing. I have bought I think 4 LRG releases, and of those 4, 2 of them got limited edition releases, and I skipped both and got regular instead. Ironic that they are perhaps the one company whose limited editions don't appeal to me. Then again, everything they release is technically "limited edition" anyway, I suppose. Speaking of Working Designs, someone needs to go back through and un-botch the "translation" and "balancing" stuff they ruined. Probably will never happen, though those Un-Worked Designs patches at least fix the gameplay they broke.
  22. This one in the picture has a screen protector. If it was removed from the one in the picture, it would look just like yours.
  23. Yeah, I was very baffled by that, but then again, they might be viewing it as a rare import. They have a US CDX for about 93,000 yen with no box almost right next to Tiger Batman. Not sure if they actually had those Tiger games here, but I do know that Japan only got the CDX as the Linguaphone Education Gear, and is INCREDIBLY rare and unbelievably expensive. There's one of those in BEEP in Akiba, but it's not for sale. Anyway, I will try to get a picture of Tiger Batman's price tag. I have work tomorrow, and I think Super Potato closes 1 hour after I get off, so no picture tomorrow. Maybe Sunday if I decide to not be lazy and they still have it. I'd rather go there with money so I can maybe buy that Wondermega, but we'll see.
