I don't think I'm going to get to play this game at all. I've been too busy with work recently to play pretty much anything, and when I do it's something relaxing, which pretty much means not shooting.
Darius Extra looks like it's going to take the win effortlessly, which makes me pretty happy because that's one of the best games on the system. Hopefully I'll be able to actually get to play that one.

Yeah, I'm going to take a break for a while, I think; I've been pretty busy with work and stuff anyway, so it's been hard to actually play anything.
Before I go, here is a special gift:
Famicom
Over ObJ - 60
New Famicom bullet hell. More complex than it looks. Go get a copy if you can.

Yeah, maybe I should have suggested a different/better game lol. Two ultra great games to choose from for next month, though. Hopefully that makes up for this one.

That's actually a really good Playstation game that was offered for the console in Japan Steve. I remember playing it and was stunned that this port was a fine edition for Real Bout Fatal Fury Special.
Great animation, new combos, hidden unlockable super moves, a storyline on Billy Kane being brainwashed, and the two line battle line system was removed. What really was interesting is that Geese Howard at a Halo over his head to let the gamers know that he died from the original Fatal Fury.
Wouldn't mind buying the game for the collection bro.

Anthony..
Yeah, I'll try to find a copy if I can. I guess it's basically Real Bout 3 or something like that.

Alright, time for this game, I guess.
Settings:
Level = easy (there is no normal, so let's use this since this is the default)
Player = 3
Nice and simple.
This is a port of an arcade game that you have probably never played. I haven't played it either. I don't know much about this game other than that it has a cool music track. By that I mean it has exactly 1 BGM track for the entire game, so I hope you like it. I think this game ends once you finish the final stage and does not loop.
I think we can drop player name since I'm being lazy and there are so few of us now, so let's go with
SCORE - STAGE - SHIP
There are 3 ships to choose from in this game. I am not sure if any are any better or worse than the others, so who knows how it will turn out.
Also, the next 2 games are Darius Extra Version and Twinkle Tale. I've never played Twinkle Tale, but I do have Darius Extra Version and it is really good; it's probably one of the best shooting games on the system and is an extremely good conversion of the original arcade version, minus the two extra screens.
I'll have to look into Darius, though, as there are two separate releases of the game. The first is on the Mega Drive Mini and the second is a real cartridge. I think they added some stuff to the cartridge release (and were too cheap to retain the save feature from the MD Mini to save your high scores after turning the game off, which is sadly gone in the cartridge), but I need to check.

Well, I lost lol. On to Kuuga (half a month late)!

I didn't really pay attention to what all I played this time. I will probably take a break over here, as well.

Mikado has a secondary monitor connected to Starblade for this. It isn't a CRT and I have no pictures of it, but it's there.

One thing I remember about Terry Bogard being involved with Super Smash Bros is that many that were cheering and screaming for him. Yet when I ask do you know who he was, many didn't have an idea of his background. I was shocked. Too bad that they didn't at the time.

Anthony..
Yeah, the one thing I am disappointed about is that this new game will have Terry's new voice actor. I liked the old one a lot more than the new one.
BTW have you ever played Dominated Mind? I always thought it was really strange that they only ever released that on the PS1 for some reason. I have been thinking about finding a copy if they are not too expensive.

I don't watch movies or TV or anime or listen to music or whatever so I can't tell you anything about those, but Sonic Mania was released a few years ago and that's one of the best games ever made, so it's not all completely terrible.

I found Hellfire at Mikado. It's very rare to actually find this game in a modern arcade, so of course I played it.

I wish I had played this earlier, as it is both good and cool. Lots of slowdown, though. Probably going to go get the cartridge for this. First attempt at playing beyond stage 1, so bad score.

Yeah, I need to play this game. I played it a bit a while ago just to see how it is. My score will be super terrible with just slightly under a day and a half remaining, but I will try to get some time with it.

I completely agree with you but... I don't think I own one 3DS game that is not in 3D. And I own quite a lot of them (apparently 46 physical games). I'm not sure Nintendo dropped 3D on many games, except the Pokémon games they don't develop internally.
You don't have Devil Survivor and Devil Survivor 2? You NEED those. Like your life is not complete unless you have those. Maybe you have them on DS, but if not, skip the DS versions and get them on 3DS before they become too expensive... and they are already expensive.

Remember when publishers used to have online passes? At least those are gone.
Anyway, I really want someone to build something like the holodeck. That would be cool. I think that it will eventually happen, although I doubt that anyone that is alive now will live to see it.

I'm guessing you mean the mixture of beta released games with large 0day or close patches, IAP, selling partial games, loot box and other (depending on country/continent) illegal gambling like schemes, forcing online or no offline single player, etc shenanigans. I'd agree.
Yep.

Is this the future or the downfall and end of gaming?
The future. The downfall already happened somewhere around 10 years ago.

I read a few issues of Gamest recently and I think this is the best game magazine I have ever read. I even bought an issue, the one from September of 1990 with the cool Toaplan interview and a rare look at Out Zone from the time of the game's launch. Go read it if you can!
Shooting Gameside is also just as good, although I hesitate to call it a magazine. Naturally, I bought the special Toaplan issue they made, so I have that as well.

The future of gaming = streaming + subscription services, unfortunately.

Cannot afford due to 79.99 USD shipping cost on top of the exchange rate being in the toilet. Given how purchasing power parity works, I can't afford to spend the equivalent of $470 USD on a fake PC Engine.

lol Gulf War II is here. Surprisingly, it's actually slightly different from Twin Cobra. I don't know exactly what it is, but it has music that is highly interesting. The stage clear jingle is probably the best one.

After a few years of mostly daily use at work, the Running Man on my Intellivision color changing mug is starting to fade away. Eventually it seems that it will change from nondescript black to white and reveal a spectacular

Maybe he decided to run away from this mess.

SEGA CD soundtrack thread
in Sega Genesis
Posted
Let me tell you a secret. It's a SECRET, which means you can't tell anyone.
Sega made the best consoles ever. Sega also made the SG-1000, but we can pretty much forget about that one. Go learn Japanese and play the Saturn. It's amazing.
Anyway, the Japan/Europe Sonic CD soundtrack is one of the best you'll find on the system. Probably. Or maybe not, but probably.
I have also recently somewhat changed my opinion of Shin Megami Tensei's Mega-CD soundtrack. It is a bit inconsistent at times, but when it's good it's pretty good. It sometimes uses the YM2612 or YM3438 instead of CDDA or the Ricoh chip, though, which is part of why it's a bit inconsistent.
