  1. Ok, so we got it fixed! That's me and some remote help from a technician. The problem is the design of the Jaguar. If the RF metal shield is too close to the pins of certain components and can short them. In this case, the controller port somehow managed to touch the metal shield plate underneath. So I took it apart and put a piece of paper underneath the controller port, which stopped the interference. As I said, definitely nothing to do with the GameDrive or the controller. I am delighted that my Jaguar now works and I can enjoy the games. And all it took was a small piece of paper ?
  2. I've requested this thread is deleted since it is not a GameDrive issue.
  3. Thank you for your reassurance that it's not the GameDrive that's the problem. Unfortunately I don't yet have any retail carts as I have only just got the console. It does have a 50hz / 60hz switch, so I wonder if the mod somehow upset the controller input? It's such a strange issue, and very annoying, because I am keen to enjoy the GameDrive, but can't. Anyway, apologies for posting here if it's a console problem.
  4. Hi, I recently bought a GameDrive and immediately updated to version 1.12, Menu v1.08, ASIC v1.08, Stub v1.05. However there seems to be an issue with the C button input, on games like Flashback and Doom. Specifically, C is registering as B and Option. See the YouTube video below. I have tried two different controllers, and the same thing happened to both, making me think it's a software issue. Has anyone else encountered this? If you have a GameDrive, please can you test these two games are report back? I suspect may need to downgrade the firmware if that's possible. Other than this issue, the GameDrive is still awesome and despite this hiccup I am enjoying it loads. https://youtu.be/Us2m8YuRS1o
  5. Hi, a quick bump for the Protector SE mrq file. If anyone has it and is prepared to share, please post here. Thank you. It's the last one I'm after.
  6. Please can someone create and share mrq files for Protector SE and BattleSphere Gold? (I'm not sure BattleSphere Gold it works on the GD?) I don't own a GD yet, but hope to get one soon. Thank you.
  7. So I was thinking, what were the best multi-format games up to 1995 that could have realistically been released on the Atari Lynx, but weren't? By this, I mean games that were available to be converted and the Lynx and would have been powerful enough to run them. I'm not including Mario, Sonic etc. because they were exclusive to other systems. Also, I haven't included any fighting games because these work far better on consoles IMO. Here's my Top 40. 1. Sensible World of Soccer - would have been amazing 2. Worms - the original was amazing on Jaguar (and not so good on SNES) 3. Secret of Monkey Island - I've never played it, but Dracula The Undead works well 4. Flashback - an all-time classic 5. Another World - a bit short, but still a good game 6. NHL 94 - the best ice hockey game of all time 7. Jungle Strike - superb sequel (and no on-foot sections that ruined Urban Strike) 8. Cannon Fodder - works well on the Gameboy Color and could have been lovely on the Lynx 9. NBA Jam TE - the Game Gear version has stood the test of time 10. Prince of Persia - the SNES version would be an excellent edition to the Lynx library 11. The Chaos Engine - also known as Soldiers of Fortune in the USA 12. Speedball 2 - futuristic sports game 13. Turrican - a cool run and gun game 14. Turrican 2 - might as well have the sequel too! 15. Bubble Bobble - another all-time classic 16. Pang - this was pretty playable back in the day 17. Alien Breed - another game with a good reputation 18. Syndicate - this might be pushing it a bit in terms of the Lynx's power! 19. Super Frog - the best platformer on the Amiga 20. Centipede - I believe a demo of this already exists, however a full update would be cool 21. Lemmings 2: The Tribes - the sequel to one of the top Lynx games 22. R-Type - classic shoot 'em up 23. R-Type II - and its sequel 24. Star Wars Arcade - now this would have been great on the Lynx! Why didn't it happen? 25. Tempest - Tempest 2000 might be a bit much, but a version of Tempest would be welcome 26. Defender - another arcade classic 27. Defender II - and its sequel 28. Zool - this was a snazzy platformer 29. Zool 2 - with the sequel on the Jaguar 30. Smash TV - the spiritual sequel to Robotron 2084 31. Total Carnage - also made it to the Jaguar 32. Rainbow Islands - fun two player game 33. Millipede - could have been updated for the Lynx 34. Temple of Doom - the arcade game 35. Empire Strikes Back - would also have been a great addition 36. Galaxian - very playable shoot 'em up 37. Galaga - also very playable, would have worked well on the Lynx 38. Q*Bert 3 - conversion of the SNES game 39. Gauntlet - the proper game, rather than the one the marketing guys got hold of... 40. Gauntlet II - and its sequel So there you have it, 40 games that would have been great on the Lynx. Who knows, maybe one day some people far more talented than me will do the honours.
  8. Wyvern Tales was the reason I re-bought an Atari Lynx. I enjoyed playing it a lot, as I expected to, since I loved playing 16 bit JPRGs. For info, there are 52 rounds on The Hunt.
  9. I know nothing about polarization, sorry.
  10. So far so good, but I will be honest report back if the set-up fails. The powerbank was £40 / 47 Euros / 51 Dollars, so mid-range.
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Display-DC5-5-3-5mm-Charging-Line-Boost-To-9V-12V-5V-USB-Step-up-Converter/223563750135?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 You might have to wait for more stock or order from a different supplier. Tip: don't order the cheap 5V cable (first photo in thread). I did and it didn't work well.
  12. I use a decent power bank with my Lynx II with a BennVenn screen mod (shown playing Rampart). The power bank does need a minimum 9V output and the cable must also cater for at least 9V. (Yes, the Lynx can run off 5V but it's a struggle; the colours are washed out, and the battery light continually flickers). This set-up has the same benefit as the micro usb mod, but without having the adapt the shell and the internal hardware.
