  1. I find it so hard to win anyone in this game. I always build up the smackdown meter, and use it to do a finishing move, but then 9 times out of 10 when I pin them, they always kick out before 3 seconds. And trying to pin them for 3 seconds without doing a finsihing move is pretty much impossible. The other night I spent around 30 minutes in a match, I just couldn't beat them, I ended up having to turn the game off. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks.
  2. The Toca games look good from the video footage that I've seen, but I think maybe the games are going to be so similar to each other that it may not be worth getting all of them. What do you think?
  3. Blue Stinger (Dreamcast). It was very easy to beat on the easy and normal settings, even the last boss was really easy, you've just got to make sure you have enough ammo. Except though, the game does seem to be very unintuative in places, and it ment I had to grab the game guide several times through out the game, since I had no idea what I was supposed to do next. And I think that's the only game I've beaten this year so far.
  4. I'd also say Revenge Of Shinobi and Shinobi III on the Mega Drive, they just felt generic to me and I can't really understand why so many people find them so appealing.
  5. I'd say pretty much all of the Ghouls 'n Ghosts (I know they didn't all have that exact same title) games for the reason you mentioned. As for Megaman, I've only played one of those games on a NES emulator, and it just felt really generic.
  6. I like 2 or 3 different sports, but the rest I find unbelievably boring, especially the most popular ones.
  7. If they're a horder to the extent that their collection is taking over their home, then possibly a little. Otherwise, no.
  8. I don't really think I see it as modern or classic, just dated. But I still love it all the same though.
  9. Definatley the 8-bit era. My favorite consoles are the Atari 800XL and the Atari 2600 Jr.
  10. Are all copies of the game like this, or is it just my disc? I can only see a slight scratch on the disc, which I wouldn't have thought would be enough to cause the game to crash. I've even put the disc through a disc repair kit, but it hasn't made any difference.
  11. I find it does this on the GBA port, which completely ruins the game for me. I was wondering if the original was like this as well.
  12. The ST has a lot less soul and character than what the A8 has, for me. Plus, there were so many great games on the A8, whereas it was hard for me to find anything I liked on the ST. And I do prefer the 8-bit graphics of the A8 over the ST's graphics.
  13. The Driver games are refferenced to on a few billboards in San Andreas.
  14. I bought Silent Hill 2, just so that I'd have a horror game to review and upload onto Youtube on Halloween. Turns out the game is really great anyway.
  15. That's disgusting. I would never buy a game where you have to pay extra to be able to play through the full story/all of the missions. I'm so happy to just stick with the past generations of consoles.
  16. Yup, it is. I remember someone saying (may have been in this topic) that if I use a UK charger, then the SP will get hotter than normal. I don't really like the sound of that. So maybe I should go for a USB charger, to charge it from my computer, or a step down converter so I can use the American charger.
  17. Well, I recieved it in the post a couple of days ago, and I'm really pleased with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8MtzjpzFOk
  18. 2600 Jr (long rainbow) and the 800XL Both have big libraries of great games, both hold nostlagia for me, and both have really great looks.
  19. Well, at long last I've finally bought a backlit one, in black this time (as I think I do prefer it in black), Cost me around £38 inc p&p. Condition seems fairly good for the price, considering it's a backlit one, so, all I've got to do now is to just wait for it. I can't really work out the charger though, it doesn't look like it can plug into a wall socket (whether it be an American wall socket or a British one), or a car cigarette lighter socket. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290614597184
  20. Here's a video that I made, where you can see the black bars on the screen, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T32VWrZ-FNI I've sent it back now, and got a refund. Unfortunalty I've still not managed to get a 101 yet. When I turned the front light off, the screen was so dark it looked almost completely black, it was so hard to see the game at all.
  21. Um, I think you need to chill out a bit. This isn't an English class.
  22. I love the 80's, I'm a very nostalgic person. But I also love the present. The 80's have been back in vogue for a long time now, fashions have come back, remakes, etc. And with the Internet, it's never been easier to relive those days, watch old shows, and buy things from back in the day that you remember. This is why I think the present is probably just as good.
  23. Thanks guys. I'm going to send it back to get a refund. And I'm going to plump for backlit one that hopefully is in really good condition.
