  1. From the album: Cree's nostalgic images

This is the logo my chuck e cheese had when it first opened.. they changed it in '84 or 5.. good memories of the cheese maze.. and puppy pong.. and major havoc..
  2. The heart attack made me scared of berzerk for a while.. i was afraid if i didn't shoot evil otto i would die.. eventually i got over it haha.. i was also scared of the green guy from rolling thunder,,, i was 19 with that one (kinda ashamed to admit that scared me at that age)..
  3. in the Eighties cec was peak.. it is because of corona it is failing.. and the fact kids don't play games anymore.. On the subject of cec does anyone remember GADGETS???? like cec but owned by warner bros.. this was before they owned six flags.. i went to the one in atlantic city one summer and found it cool as heck.. played a lot of qbert there..
  4. Solar fox was the earliest video game crush i remember having (i usually consider solid snake my first but solar fox matched everything i consider a crush) and to find out he's a SHE tears me apart.. like tommy wiseau.. (ok maybe not like tommy wiseau)..
  5. Pacland was also added in '85,, '86 got us,, Karate champ Gyruss I don't remember 87 except maybe a playchoice 10 replacing punch out.. 88 gave us,, Ninja gaiden Bubble bobble Tmnt '89,, Rolling thunder Xenophobe Roadblasters Street fighter And then i have no idea what went on in 1990 and beyond.. i was more playing nes with my brother.. i know bucky o hare was in there at one point because i took him to the arcade to play it.. he liked bucky o hare..
  6. I remember there was one near me that opened in like 1981,,, puppy pong was there.. cheese maze.. hated the pizza and may have barfed in a garbage can.. first saw major havoc there.. joust was there.. think i remember night driver.. battlezone.. mr do.. Then it became kiddie gambling when i went with my cousins in the 2000s.. hated it..
  7. Lmao "realistic" nowadays people would think they're high on crack.. i was mostly scared of pong and other b&w games because they looked creepy.. i liked the pong bits on snl because they were in color.. when space invaders came out i mostly got over the fear.. i also got an atari for christmas the year before and i wasn't scared of that because it was in color.. after that the only b&w game i could play without getting nervous besides space invaders was pong.. Here's a fun game how many pongs were there???? Pong Pong doubles Quadrapong Puppy pong (remember this one from my local chuck e cheese's) Pong in a barrel Video action (ripoff) That's all i remember..
  8. Tim curry wasn't until the 90s,, sean connery have no idea,, skeletor is fucking ridiculous so no alan haha.. probably allan lurie (uglor on space stars).. uhhhh Charlie adler maybe (gi joe).. jim cummings (was he active in the 80s?) Corey burton definitely.. LENNIE WEINRIB (lotor on voltron).. frank welker too..
  9. Who would his voice actor be
  10. I remember when chuck e cheese's opened near me they had PUPPY PONG.. this was 1981 or 2.. had a good time playing it with a friend,, while other B&W games still made me nervous,, pong didn't because of the SNL sketches..
  11. New york new york.. this was in one of the arcades in NY.. it was pretty cool i got to play a game based on my city.. i really thought i was saving my people from an alien attack.. Heard captain harlock is in the japanese version instead.. wonder why japan just didn't go with the new york story considering they love ny (junko ohashi MAGICAL anyone????)
  12. Major havoc,, first saw that at a chuck e cheese's bitd.. then a year later my local arcade got the game.. i always liked the way our hero would shake off the pain when he got hurt.. cute..
  13. I don't know about that one,, but i used to play VIDEO PINBALL at my local arcade.. it was graphics overlaid on a pinball machine..
  14. NO,, THAT'S NOT TRUE.. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.. NOOOOOOOO,, NOOOOOOOOOO,,
  15. In this thread I will attempt to remember and list the games at my local arcade back in the day.. i encourage you try to do the same.. I would see a few black and white games at bowling alleys and skating rinks in the Seventies,, PONG being one of them.. but i was always scared of them because they looked creepy.. it wasn't until SPACE INVADERS came out that i got into games.. Around that same bend my local arcade opened up.. when i first started going there they had,,, Space invaders Pacman Video pinball Radar scope Galaxian Wizard of wor Robot bowl Berzerk Asteroids People would line up for hours outside the place just to play pacman.. it was insane.. even though i'd gotten over my fear of games,, I was still nervous about robot bowl.. i liked video pinball though.. By '81 radar scope became a donkey kong cab.. we also had,, Galaga Solar fox Tempest Red baron Missile command Centipede Also at this time chuck e cheese opened up near us.. this was the SMILE AMERICA campaign.. i first saw VANGUARD there.. there was also puppy pong.. By summer of 1982 we had,, Satan's hollow Donkey kong junior Ms pacman Frogger Crazy climber Scramble Dig dug Omega race Millipede Creepily enough robot bowl was still there for some reason.. i would never play it unless a buddy was there with me.. usually,, sometimes i would man up and do it,, and go play solar fox when i was done because robot bowl had me on edge.. By 83,, Phoenix Tron Zaxxon Star wars Pole position Qbert Space fury Demolition derby Robotron Zookeeper By '84,, Major havoc The glob Star trek Track and field Mario bros Dragon's lair This was the year when they finally got rid of robot bowl.. i wanna say track and field replaced it.. i was so happy.. But in 1985 they got rid of solar fox,, here is what they put instead.. Punch out Environmental discs of tron Ninja princess (this one was very short lived) Space ace I will keep going soon..
  16. The text is provided above.. dunno what that image posted has to do with it..
  17. I had silver label GRAVITAR because i was part of the atari club back then.. what I mostly remember it for though,, is how they made up the CHARACTER gravitar for the port who is an enemy of the galaxy and uses gravity to defeat solar systems.. (he is not in the reimagined version atari put out a while ago).. Since the manual didn't have what he looks like,, what did you imagine he looked like? I always though he wore like a suit of armor,, the reimagining of zurg for LIGHTYEAR looks similar to what i depicted gravitar as,, but he had a cape.. and out of suit he looked like lotor from VOLTRON.. but with a black skintight suit.. you can tell I was a 13 year old girl right????
  18. I was today years old when i found out the guy on the marquee has eyes,,, i always saw him as like racer x or proto man.. even WORSE,, HE COULD ACTUALLY BE A SHE.. NOOOOOOOO,,
