I am looking for this cable that is used in older graphics cards (maybe new capture cards too?). It is a 7 pin s-video cable. It seems that it was used in some MSI cards and I can find the whole card online for $30 but I just need the stupid cable. https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-8500-gt-nx8500gt-mtd256eh/p/N82E16814127301

Well it helped me spend a bunch of time on there. Haha. I still couldn't find the right plug. I'm about to rip one off of a laptop or video card and re purpose, but I don't know what enclosure I would even use.

That DOES help. I forgot about mouser. I will see what I can find there. Thanks!

So I'm looking into adding a weird port to my 7800 for using a specific unmodified adapter found cheap in the market. The problem is I can't find the stupid female version of the adapter! It's a 7-pin s-video adapter commonly used in laptops and older graphics cards. I've searched eBay, amazon, digikey, general google. And I can't come up with anything. Does anyone know where I can find and purchase a female port or extension cable for the following output? https://allpinouts.org/pinouts/connectors/computer_video/s-video-7-pin/ I'm looking for an end dongle type output. Something that I can attach to the end of a cable, or that is already a cable I can splice. If that doesn't work, does anyone have an idea on how I could mount one inside of a connector hood? I've found a few ports online but nothing I could put on the end of a cord. It's driving me bananas.

Ooo can I get on on the drawing? I like things of mostly video game nature! -
@ClassicGMR Haha. That was my plan too but I figured if @chicgamer needed it I didn't mind. I probably should check to see if I ordered a screen already. Lol. I think I did on Ali. I probably should put it back to the parts. Ugh the dilemma. I need to get rid of stuff and make a couple bucks for my other projects or a dragonfly or concerto. Edit: I sold a cfw psp 1000 for 140 last month so I figured I could part with this one. I still have a 2001 and a vita.
-
Holy crap. I didn't realize that either. Was reading thinking it was fresh wondering who lost their mind. Ah $300 wii. How I missed thee.

Edit: sold backwards compatible. Super slim still for sale. 1 is a backwards compatible the other is a Super slim. Here's what I know: The backwards compatible powers on and shuts off. Never enough time to show anything on the screen. I opened it up to see if anything was fried but I don't have a reflow station to fix the gpu if that's the problem. My son wanted to see how it would come apart so I let him remove the screws. I didn't care to put them back but they come with it. He's like me at 12, it comes apart but where's the fun in putting it back? Well apparently I haven't changed either. The super slim turns on but is stuck in a boot loop. It won't update. I tried a different hard drive with a fresh update and it just gets stuck. Searching the error code says something about a wifi card but this one is non removable and ^^ I don't have a reflow station. Honestly have to assume if you can reflow, it would work. Comes with hard drive $20 + shipping for both. It's pretty heavy but I'm sure I can pack it well in a flat rate box. Large maybe? Preferably shipping in US because I've never shipped anywhere else so I don't know the process. I want to post them locally but figured I'd offer here first. If no interest they'll go on offerup .

Looking at the 2 I have, they do seem different. I have a 2001 & 1000. Uhh. If you're interested, $15 and I'll send you a 1001 with a busted screen. That board for sure works. You can even see stuff on the screen. I'll even include the original battery, but it falls out. I don't have a battery cover for this one but there are more working parts. The original battery holds a charge so that should be worth something. I planned on replacing the screen and didn't want to part, but I already have a fully working psp 2001 and a PS vita. I'm being greedy holding onto this. Haha. $20 and a dig dug cart for the 7800 and you can have the 1000 and the 2001. Lol It wants to load megaman maverick hunter x but I can't see part of the screen to see what it's saying. Here are some pics:

Mostly complete PsP. I used some of the parts from this in another PsP so it's missing the screen and I don't think the board works. I don't think the screen cable made a good contact. Buttons are good, I cleaned the joystick and was going to use it in another one but that still works. Speakers are good, disc drive played games (I tested it with the other board I have). I just couldn't get anything to show on the screen. The shell is silver all around. PsP 2001 Can be yours for $10 shipped in the continental US. Basically free. Covers gas and shipping. I know some of these parts are good so I don't want to toss them. I'll even include the screws that I didn't lose under my desk and got sucked up by the vacuum.

And if you want to wait until my parts come in, I am building a small batch of adapters to do just this. Will be in the marketplace when I get everything in. I bought enough parts to make 15, and I am keeping 2. I found a good price to buy in bulk and I made an agreement with someone here that I would sell the remaining in the marketplace and not on ebay.

Interested in anything you might have for 7800
-
@wongojack They seem pretty fine on 2600 games. I also went back to Xenophobe and tried again and they seem acceptable but still kinda slow on the response time. I cleaned all the contacts on the board, they were a bit funky when I was modifying the pad. I suppose the rubber contacts may also be worn down. I'll try to find some replacements and go from there. Also getting those resistors in tomorrow. I will be lowering the total resistance between the grounds and report back.

Good question. I'll give that a shot in a few.

Now wonder I can't find a 7800 joystick at a reasonable cost. They're so rare! Kidding... This person has to be drunk. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Atari-7800-Joystick-Controller-/265133460812?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 Also I finally found an original from a user here.

@Iwantgames:) May I claim any of the following please? Train Station Renovation F1 2020 One Finger Death Punch 2 Thank you! -
I'm thinking your buttons may need to be cleaned since you have an original controller. Mine is a sega pad I modified but I bet your contacts are dirty. I don't think your resistors would be bad. Idk if that's a thing. Hmm.
-
Hmm. Maybe I'll take one out. I put 3x 220 per line. Funny you say it like that. For me that's literally the sluggish part. It seems like it takes multiple presses sometimes. I chalked it up to old tech because it's been awhile since I've used one.

-
Well it wouldn't hurt at all. Just make sure you clean and put everything back where it goes. I haven't had my hands on one to take apart but for my 3 button, the contacts were corroded.
-
I desoldered all the components from my 3 button and added the resistors as specced for the pro-line for lines 5,6&9. Works like a champ but still feels sluggish. I know I need to change out the resistors to single. Right now I have 3 in series to meet the requirements but it seems odd. Maybe that will help. My point still stands that I think coming into it years later we still expect the same amount of responsiveness as more modern hardware. I'm hoping I'm wrong but even my 2600 seems more sluggish than I'd like.

I remember wanting an Atari super bad as a kid but we were hella poor. I eventually saw them in the early 90's at thrift stores but my parents still weren't willing to fork out any money and I honestly don't remember what I did with the lawn mowing money. Maybe they were still too much. Hmm... Well it doesn't matter. I finally got one last month and it's everything I hoped for. Haha. I did not get a controller with it but am in process of a pro-line. For now I made a compatible controller out of a genesis 3 button. It works like a champ but it still seems unresponsive. The direction works but the buttons seem slow. I'm wondering if it's my resistors. Long story short, I have a similar issue with my converted SMD controller. I think we're just expecting quick response like modern games and not getting it but I bet that's how it was when we were kids too.

I believe that is the one I saw. Thank you for the clarification. If I leave the RF, I will make sure to replicate the circuit (I see you leave the originals in the video so I think I saw the right one). I have plenty of resistors around, although I needed to order more because I did not have the right one to make my controller from a sega pad so I used a few in series to meet the requirement. It looks pretty ugly to me so I ordered more to clean up the inside of the controller. If I use the above mentioned expansion port method, I will leave the RF. What are your personal thoughts? Expansion port useful in the future? Useful for importance to a collector, or me as a novice collector, at some point? I collect to play not for show. Although I don't play as often as I like.

Excellent! I will give that try this evening. Today is an office day or I would try it now. haha. Audio is not too bad but the picture is terrible. I will also check the ground for the RCA. The board itself doesn't look too bad and the case is in great shape so I think the previous owner took good care of it. There was even very little dust on it. The games on the other hand, those labels are scratched all over. Also just watched part of your video for the UAV install and now I see what you mean about the audio.
