I will post a picture of the board. I don't think the ram is soldered on backwards but I will post before I try another one so I can get more eyes on it. I am sure I matched pin 1 to the right dot on the board. It shows nothing on screen with no ram chips installed. I can't remember which ones were bridged at this time or I would absolutely note that. I will look at them again and compare with the diagram to see if anything jogs my memory.

Prices dropped by a bit on almost all the consoles. Apparently I missed the mark on the 1200xl because one just sold on eBay for about 180 ish plus 40 shipping. That was untested and not recapped or modified but I still figure it's closer to the target price. Keep in mind mine is totally recapped and has sio mod as well as svideo out. It's basic but still an improvement over composite.

I posted about this in the ST section but hoping someone in the hardware section might know something. I am trying to upgrade the RAM in my 520ST. I removed the old chips and in doing so used too much heat on one area of the board. It caused a couple of the ceramic caps to burn up BUT all of the traces are fine. The caps seem to not be needed because they don't even come into contact with the new board but I could be wrong. The new ram is an upgrade by agranlund, fixed by a user and posted here on AA. I've double checked the traces on the RAM board, and the main board on the ST. Nothing *seems* out of place. There are no bridged traces on the RAM but I did accidentally bridge a couple once. Could I have blown something on the board by accidentally bridging say the vcc pin on any of the ram chips? Or would it only burn the ram? I goofed and didn't check if I had any bridging before trying 6 different chips on 3 different expansion boards. All have the same outcome. I do have 4 other chips I can try and will absolutely make sure no pins are bridged but honestly I'm curious to know if anyone may have a theory on this. All the expansion ram boards have the same outcome after I've checked no pins were bridged.

When I modded an NES advantage for tg16 I found the best option to add turbo buttons was a 555 timer like these: (Pack of 50 Pieces) MCIGICM Ne555 Timer IC Chip Kit Pulse Generator https://a.co/d/6v9SWw5 I ended up not needing them because I was able to use the built in turbo from the advantage but I'm thinking those might help you.

@ChrisCrawford have you checked into pirateship.com? You can get USPS or UPS shipping at business rates. You're probably seeing much higher rates because USPS just raised their rates for "holidays".

No because I used a "fixed" version posted here: I really wish it were as simple as a missed bodge. I really do. I found more pins and tried a third board. All of the tested chips have that pink/black screen in my last post. I mention needing the new header pins because when I got the RAM, I soldered everything I had to the boards and had 2 extras. Those were the ones I swapped out in my last post as well. The rest are soldered to boards already. I didn't anticipate having more than 2 bad chips. Especially not 6. I suppose anything is possible though.

I finally got around to putting a board together and it does not work. I figured instead of desoldering the ram from that board, I tried a second one. First it was a black screen with a white border, then it was a black and pink screen with a white border. I realized that I had 2 pins bridged on each board. I fixed that with a braid and cleaned it up on both boards. It made both boards show this pink/black screen. At one point out was a black screen with a weird blue line on the left of the screen. Cleaning up solder fixed that though. I ran out of header pins to try any more without reusing them. My plan is to get 5 boards working so I soldered sockets to the Atari board for testing purposes. Problem is so far 2 boards do not work, so either 2 chips or 4 chips are bad. I tried replacing the ram on one board but it did the same thing. Can anyone tell what I might be missing here? Using the board design by agranlund with the fix from snark. I ordered more pins in the meantime. Now that I think about it, this specific white border was there before I replaced the ram. It's the monitor's fault.

It looks like you can still get a membership but man are they pricey. My son will be home in an hour or so and I'll have him set up and make sure Cozmo responds regularly but I found this: https://support.digitaldreamlabs.com/article/344-all-about-memberships Only applies to vector as far as I know because we never bought a subscription for Cozmo.

I will have to ask my son. I know Anki was bought out and a few of their apps changed. Maybe you need a different one? I will have him set it out when he gets home from school to double check and I will get back to you here. I honestly never even thought of it. I knew Anki was bought out but he also has the drive and overdrive, and those do still work. We played with them a month or so ago. I really hope it's not a paperweight now. Thanks for the heads up. Looking at the differences, it seems Cozmo was not intended for voice commands so it may not have the disconnect you see with Vector: https://support.digitaldreamlabs.com/article/139-what-is-the-difference-between-cozmo-and-vector#:~:text=Vector and Cozmo both have, with you and your household.&text=With a big brain and,to play and learn with.&text=The home robot that hangs out and helps out!

Added Colecovision, Atari 1200XL and Dreamcast. Sorry for the pictures. I am recovering from knee surgery so I asked my kids for help. I can send more pictures to anyone upon request.

You point out one thing about someone being more than just a pair of boobs and an atari forum ridicules you. Got it. There was no attempt at "defending a woman on the internet." I was literally just pointing out that she has other actual accomplishments that go beyond showing cleavage in a youtube video for more views, and as another user pointed out, not many youtube videos at that. But surrrrreeeee. She really wants to throw those tits at you to get you to see equality... or whatever the hell it is you guys are saying.

My apologies for the duplicate. I can't figure out how to delete the quote on mobile right now either

Exploding sheep to prove you're not a bot. In all seriousness though, either I'm tired or I just gave up on life but it just seems like you're refuting everything I'm saying. As far as the accomplished part, my point is that there are endless articles about her, and not one about me. I don't know anyone else here personally but besides the sales threads from Chris and being able to see his accomplishments posted on the internet to find, I rarely see anyone else being mentioned anywhere else on the internet that is not YouTube. My accomplishments are more of a personal goal to me that fall between repairing electronics and doing some random XML stuff in my spare time at work.

What am I missing here? Yes the age of the article is relevant. She's no longer some "school dropout who didn't fit the mold". She now has a legitimate business that makes money that is not YouTube. I'm still confused about how she was lying. From what I can tell, multiple awards were given to her. Awards. I'm sure the people that hand those out don't just give them to anyone. I've never won a tech award but I'm sure if I did, it wouldn't be given out by Big Bird. 🤷🏼♂️. Current thing? I thought the whole argument of this thread was because she's into retro computers and everyone wanted to remind her who the real elite was and she should stay out of their hobby. Stop being such a grump. Other people can enjoy some of the things you do even if they haven't done it for as long.

Am I being trolled? I feel like I'm being trolled. There's no way this entire thread is that butt hurt over someone sharing a hobby.

Again, I was doing nothing close to this at 13. Also the article you linked is old as hell, comparatively. She has since given herself a bigger name. I'm not sure where all the negativity is coming from with all of you guys. There surely aren't pages and pages of results for my name on Google. How about you?
-
Haha what are you talking about? She basically owns a business that educates less fortunate on coding. It's really easy to look this stuff up. Her name is Kari Lawler. She's apparently brilliant. She coded some AI stuff when she was 13. What were you doing at 13? I know what I was doing. It sure wasn't anything spectacular. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, just saying that she is literally far more accomplished than most of us here. It also looks like the YouTube came much later than awards. Who knows, maybe one day she'll get into coding in basic and write some good games for any Atari console.

My favorite are the ones that can't be bothered to clean off the thrift store crayon price.

Cool. Make sure to double down on an unimportant aspect. Maybe she's comfortable. 🤷♂️

IDK. Seems like she has a lot more going for her than finding a niche to exploit with her body. https://www.womenintechawards.co.uk/2021/10/11/youngest-ever-inductee-added-to-the-midlands-women-in-tech-awards-hall-of-fame/#:~:text=Shortlist 2021-,Youngest Ever Inductee Added To The Midlands,Tech Awards Hall Of Fame&text=Kari Lawler%2C at just 18,on the 7th October 2021.

What's going on with that white stuff? I just picked up a 7800 too and it had that in the exact same screw hole. It looks like spiderwebs to me. Anyone know if that was intentional by Atari? Something besides spiderwebs of course. lol also, nice find. Careful buying so many or you might look like a hoarder 😜

Finally convinced my son to budge on his asking price for the anki Cozmo. He's looking for a PS4 and some games if anyone will trade. Also added project injustice for Dreamcast.
-
Update. Added 2600 Jr Setup. Dropped price on XG-1.

It looks like a Vic20 with a C64 keyboard. But honestly I think there may be a glare on the cart port and it's probably a 600XL.
