Asking here cause this community is awesome
Dryfter replied to Dryfter's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius

I was wondering why there was a Sega Master System section but no NES section but probably because nintendoage.com exists and he doesn't want to step on toes if I had a guess. I'm also a fan of the NES, not to the extent that I an a number of other systems. I just collect the games I loved as a kid. I'm thinking you're not making friends here with that statement. lol -

Are those originals or repros? Nevermind, I see the video...I want an original, although these do look very cool -

Does anyone have an extra NES Contra box with the piece of Styrofoam at the bottom? It's my all time favorite game for the NES and I have the cart and manual (and the sleeve for the cart) but I'm missing the box. Thanks! ~Dry

You're going beyond my collecting expertise as I don't collect Variants (bi-lingual). That's a very slippery slope that I will never let myself go down. haha The reason I won't collect variants is that there's really never a way to know if you have them all. There's no "known" number of each variant. The collector in me would go crazy because there's no real end to that. I'm sure others will argue with me, but that's what makes it fun.

Here's what I think. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong. The gatefold boxes are the long boxes, everything else is a short box. So then the question becomes, what games came in gatefold and also in the short boxes. From what I have found out, this is what you can expect: Long Boxes - All Mattel Network games (Space, Sports, Action, Arcade, etc.) ECS games are NOT included in this list. Short Boxes - Everything else Available in both short and gatefold: Burgertime Buzz Bombers Mission X Vectron Sharp Shot Scooby Doo Melody Blaster Mind Strike Since you've asked only about the original 125, I didn't include info about the homebrews, but at this point, only D2K would be a long box, everything else is a short box. Again, sorry for the lack of numbers here, but I think this will start you on your way. ~Dry

No issues here. I have want I want. I actually started trimming down my overall video game collection before I was married anyway so it's not crazy atm. A lot os stored (nicely) the rest is displayed nicely in a bookcase. The wife likes video games as well, but not like me of course. I've never had any of the discussions you've brought up above.

Logotypes for New Games
Dryfter replied to Games For Your Intellivision's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Rev gets my vote. I like it -
Your rocky and bullwinkle is low so hopefully that will pick up in the final price

Right, but do you know what year that one is? Also, how does that rank in terms of rarity compared to the other Demo carts?
-
Which demo cart is the one you have 2 copies of in the first picture here? I have that one as well, I just can't remember which it is right now.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280959655012 Wow, again, another game going for more because it's sealed...
-
For me it'd be LV Poker but I'm surprised no one has said Triple Challenge. 3 games in one...

I don't think anybody would argue with fulfilling the demand for the old games. I think the complain here is on re-releasing old games with modified content or packaging material, making them into "variants." This suggests that effort is being spent in slightly updating old games, rather than creating new content. If this were the case, I would agree. Regardless of whether this happened in the past, I think we are witnessing a resurgence of Intellivision development, with all sorts of new games coming up. The fact that the modern production methods allow for re-releasing old titles that were heretofore thought extinct or rare enough, is just icing on the cake. As long as new games keep on coming! dZ. Exactly what I meant to say. Sorry if it didn't come out that way.

The original SG&R has Intellivoice support too, but different voices. I wasn't aware of that because I only have the recent release. So do think the later release is a variation? It is a variation, the voices are very different (yes thats possible with the Intellivoice) and other aspects like the titlescreen and colours in the game are different too. Maybe its time for a video. Cmart and I were talking about this a little while ago and we think the different SG&R games might be different enough not to call them variants, but to be game on their own. I personally think it's pretty silly for the re-releases of the games. I love that people are still making games, I'd rather see original content, not a re-hash with new wrapping... Something like D1K and D2K are ok though, D2K is an improvement with additional content. But I think I speak for most people when I say, no more releases of 4-Tris!
-
How many versions of 4tris were officially released?
Dryfter replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I believe you have the correct four at this point. I do think there will be another release from LTO with the same box but the different cart shell. ~Dry -
have you sent me pm? i havent gotten any. well im gonna bid on this auction. yeah it is getting up there. u might want to get a bid in before just so u dont miss out I cant believe how fast it went up. I know ive seen auctions go high real fast, its just weird when its your own. It will go up more if I have something to say about it
-
Hopefully this will start a "monkey see monkey do" of auctions and we'll see another 3-4 show up like happened last time.... Good luck Rev. I bet it'll go higher just because people here know it's yours and you're e-famous here!

Really Rev? Really??? You could have just given it to me. That would have been very nice

Sneak peek of the revamped Homebrew release schedule
Dryfter replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I like the new style. I'm funny with how I organize things so I'll give you a peak into how my brain works I would do it by "Company" then Alphabetically (much like I organize my carts are organized) So something like this: Elektronite Released D1K Arcade D2K Arcade Coming Soon D1K Box and Overlays IntelligentVision Released Spina the Bee Yogi's Frustration (all the others listed alphabetically as well) Coming Soon Rick Dynamite Stack Em! Left Turn Only Released 4-Tris Space Patrol Coming Soon Christmas Carol vs the Ghost of Christmas Presents The Lost Caves of Kroz That way people can see what's been released, by who, and what's possibly coming up next. What do you think? ~Dry -
