Have not tested contollers yet because of some work related issues. I will get it soon...
-
Do the controllers work well?
I will hook it up to my TV tonight and check them. I had 5 controllers at one time and I got rid of the troubled ones and gave one to a friend. Stay tuned...
-
Do the controllers work?
Yes.
-
I have been wanting a 5200 for some time now, but every time I spot one there is a problem, broken controller, missing "game box" if its 4 port (which is what I prefer), or if it is in good shape, they happen to have the box (which I dont really need) and want way too much for it.
So if anyone has one, or any tips, let me know!
Thanks

*EDIT*
Oops. I didn't realize but I placed this in Auction Central, thought I was in wanted
Someone move me please?

See my post in auction central...should be in marketplace. Atari 5200 with 47 carts and TWO working switch boxes for $300 or BO.
-
Dang, a little help moving this to the Marketplace?

The collection has been sold all in one piece. Thanks to everyone who responded. Keep an eye out for another one of my collections to get posted soon!
-
Okay, If I get enough people, I may sell in pieces. Email me what you would want and what you would pay for it on an individual item basis. I won't sell a manual without the cart and vice versa and I won't sell the joysticks or cables without the system. Maybe there will be enough combined interest.
-
All the manuals... what happened to the boxes

AX
When I got them back then I was not a collector. They were probably thrown away with the Christmas/Birthday/Easter Bunny wrapping paper.
-
You would do best parting this out. What's making you get rid of it?... this is some great stuff.

I have lost interest in collecting vintage video games (gasp!). I am now collecting John Deere tractors. I guess I'm turning into an old fart.

Alot of wisdom here. I appreciate all the comments. It took me a couple months to convince myself to list it. I guess maybe it's value to me is greater than it's street value. I have plans to list my other collections as well (5200, Intellivision, 8 bit). I'll just list them for sale for now as whole collections and maybe they will be overpriced. I'll always entertain an offer. Maybe in the long run I'll be in a position to hang on to them anyways.

Anyone care to chime in on what this collection is worth? Anyone?

OK, I turned on the Offers feature.

Just letting everyone know I posted my personal Atari 7800 collection for sale on chasethechuckwagon.com. There are pics of all the games (51) and instructions (50) and system with 4 joysticks. No 2600 carts in the collection. No duplicates. Any questions just ask.

I have one but it has alot of games with it. I was a collector for a while. It is pretty nice. I think I have two power supplies for it. I have I think 53 different 7800 games (not 2600). I also think every one has the manual except Crossbow. I can verify the games but I only don't have the rarest like Water Ski and the like. You interested in the whole shebang?

I have a box full of goodies at home that I just don't have the heart to take to Goodwill but I can't devote the time to put them all on Ebay seperately. If anyone has an interest in the stuff I can put it on Ebay as a lump. I have decided to ask fellow AtariAge fans to see if there is interest. Some of the items are:
An Antic mag
An Analog mag
A box of Intellivision overlays
Some empty game boxes like Super Skatebordin' for 2600, Space Invaders for Atari 8-bit
3d glasses for Sega Master
Some fancy 2600 joysticks
Atari 8 bit serial cable
How to program Atari 8 bit computers book
A bunch of other stuff
I'll compile a list this evening or tomorrow. I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Huge Atari 5200 Collection

I tested all 3 joysticks using different games. Both analog joysticks work very good. I could move the aiming site around to all 4 corners of the screen and anywhere in between with accuracy in Missile Command. There was not any jitter. Tested the fire buttons in DigDug. I am going to be fussy here and say one button on the lower right of one stick you have to press hard (not real hard though) but they all work very good. Start, Pause and Reset buttons work very good. Tested several of the number pad buttons and they worked very good. When I say very good, I mean just touching the button works - not jamming your thumb down on it really hard. I tested the Wico digital joystick on PacMan and had a blast. Perfect. Also tested the Wico fire butons on DigDug and Frogger. Perfect. As far as the rest of the system, I did not have any trouble with anything. Hooked it up and it worked right away. I never even had to jiggle carts or anything to get the games to work. Plugged in and turned on. Played. It's been in a box for the last 5 years or so.
When I acquired this 5200 ten years ago, it still had the clear plastic scratch ptotector on the silver strip, which I since removed.
