I only watch the Super Bowl and I never really care who wins.

That happened to me last year at the start of the season. The only reason was the overwhelming frequency of ads. It was hard to actually watch the game. This year I'm on average excitement level. Given how much $ the NFL makes, I'm not sure the players are overpaid, nor is there any evidence they're more criminal or disrespectful (?) than any other profession, but whatever. The NFL can be pretty annoying, I'll certainly give you that. Too much hype.

The league is allowing the players to control the level of entertainment towards things outside the actual game itself, that won't work out in the NFL's favor. Ratings are already down % across the board. They are giving people reasons to not watch.
