  1. Oh MAN! there's a 2600 HSC too? sheesh! I'm already light on free time!
  2. So I play (more than) a few games in A800WinPlus, but, as nice as optical mice are, they are not the tool of choice for Kaboom! So, I dig through the (many) boxes of "old computer stuff" and eventually locate my Atari 2600 paddles... Then, there's the little matter of getting the Kaboom executable on the XEGS... (also in one of the afore mentioned boxes!) I dig around through the parts bin, locate a max232 and solder up the ugliest SIO2PC ever crafted by man (pieces parts!). Judging from the screenshot off the capture card, I guess I better get working on that S-Video mod next But at least it was worth it! 3,188
  3. After a certain level, the devil requires multiple shots to kill
  4. boards follow a specific pattern up to level 60 or so. use shields. after crossing the bridge, fire like a maniac, and shield up.
  5. Argh! Died heading for the bridge! 91,400
  6. Well first cut with the NEW gravis game pad 49,900
  7. Just a thought, maybe Curt might have some official Atari documentation on colors and whatnot.
  8. Wow, and I am so mind numbingly bad at this game. Then again, from the look of these scores, theres a trick I'm missing.... How about it guys? Thanks!
  9. So, I was inspired by the notion of a little extra time, so I went out in the garage and found a machine screw that matched threads of my game pad, wrapped it with electrical tape, and fired up RiverRaid =] 44,620 I'm gonna hit home depot later and buy some foam tape stuff, my fingers keep slipping off the electrical tape.
  10. Well off to a rough start.... keyboard was toast of course, fortunately the mylar-peel-n-clean did the trick for the most part. The solder joint were cracked on all three LEDs, but they are fixed now. So, looks like I'm in business.... yay!
  11. I was just thinking, maybe the ribbon connector to the screen was loosened while you had it open? Its pretty much a friction fit thing, easy to pull off by accident
  12. USA 1200XL 83S DA 039675 193 update: opened her up: 0983 REV A ©1982 Atari by the Fuji Everything is socketed. 24 pin ROMS in 28 pin sockets. No sign of any mods, or rework. Hope it fires up! =P
  13. Well, now I'm bumming.... Snapped off the little mini-joystick on my Gravis Gamepad! =[ (and I was having a pretty good River Raid run too!) Damn CX-40's ruined me for life.... D-Pads don't work for me (left hand fire button FTW)
  14. It was just pointed out to me that I listed the wrong games. They are in fact: Xybots, Tournament Cyberball and Steel Talons Sorry for any confusion.

Hey, Thanks for the advice, I agree its very fragile. I actually bound it round extremely tight with insulating tape to the plastic surround that it sits on - fired it up while still outside of casing, got a small electric shock!, and found that it worked perfectly. So, I assembled the whole unit again but I'm back to square one, the tape wouldnt have come loose but obviously isnt man enough for the job. So my next line of thought is to solder it actually. I will have a look at this weather stripping tape. The only other thing I can do is get a non-working lynx and replace the whole flex-circuit. that might have to be the way to go. Regards Christian or ya could trace the flex back to the board and solder there.
  16. which is better for a machine in 2007, the happy or the doubler? I can't imagine using any of the happy copy functions these days.
  17. Hi all, I have a supply of brand new never opened still shrink wrapped Atari Lynx games. I realize they are fairly common, so... $20 gets you the following 3 games shipped free via USPS anywhere in CONUS: Xenophobe Steel Talons Tournament Cyberball Thanks! -Ken
