  1. killingtime for 3do. that game back in the day nearly gave me a stroke. it had some really good scare plays. one of my favs for 3do.

silent hill was great. and of course resident evil. the first dino crisis was also pretty good at getting a jolt out of you. especially with the dinos being able to just bust through walls and such at random. kept you on your toes.

  2. i remember at shoppers village in long island there was a game/toy store that had big bins of 2600 silver/maroon baxed games for 1.99. this was id say about 1989-1990. i remember the last time i bought from there i got captain comic(colordreams nes) and doubledragon(2600) and mousetrap (2600) i wanted to buy the whole bin. but cash was minute back then ;)

also loved not too far after that time that woolworths had nes games for 10.00 great titles like astynaxe, werewolf and sucky games like bigfoot. i think astynaxe and werewolf were the last brand new nes games i had bought as a kid. werewolf gets no love :)

or even in like the mid 90's when kay-bee had jaguars for 19.99 the bins were overflowing with systems. games were still scarce at least ones that were playworthy :)

  3. Two words.

    SILVER SURFER.

Hit a wall, you're dead. Hit the ground, you're dead. Hit ANYTHING, you're dead. The Game Nerd was spot on when he reviewed this game. Not only does it suck ass (Jack-O-Lantern's hurting the cosmically powered Surfer? Riiiiiight), it's harder than a Viagra induced erection.

Flashback is another where you gotta take care. Made by the same team that did Out of This World (and god is that one of my all time favorite games).

Lots of games made by Capcom seem to be ungodly hard, esepcially their fighting games against the computer. I have, to this day, still never beaten Bison on the SNES Street Fighter 2 Turbo using Dhalsim at any level higher than maybe 3 or 4 stars. He is just IMPOSSIBLE.

Another weird thing, though. I hate really difficult games, I mean I REALLY hate them, but I never had a problem getting through Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Ghosts 'n Goblins? Yeah, that one ate my lunch, but SGnG was one that I just plowed through.

OH MY GOD YES. in fact silver surfer was the first nes game that truly pissed me off as a kid. everything kills you. all the time. i would try so hard and get little further each play but it always ended with some bogus bump or some blindsided bumrush and i have to throw my controller as the control deck and go outside and hang.

cj's elephant antics is a really good game but you either learn real fast or die real fast.

  4. Little Mac!

hahha lil mac was the first tag name i earned. back in 86 i was about 4'8" and some big dude twisted my roadblock figure til his rubberband popped laughing at me. so i jumped up and punched him so hard it dropped him. all his friends and such called me lil mac for the next bunch of years.

  5. i didnt realize there was such dismay for atari charles :/ i know he has love for all this E.T. and i do own one of his other hacks and thought this would be something up his alley..thats all.

Well, I have gotten the only prototype in existance of a pirate proto called E.T. Return to Earth, which basically seems to me to be a part II to E.T.. This will be dumped and distributed in cart form for a very low price, of which I am not taking any money from. I just wanted the proto and at the same time wanted the code released.

A game you should check out is Alien Greed which parodies my limited print games, which is very funny. I know all the copies are sold(talk to neotokeo2001) but maybe he'll release a second printing at some point.

I try to come up with games and concepts that in essence embody what I think the future could be like in an alternate reality(string theory) or retrograde modern technology (like an e-book) to the Atari 2600(a 30 year old technology).

I came across those (what I would call) music videos for the Atari 2600 through a programmer or group of programmers out of Germany(I think) that are simply amazing. A full music video watchable on an Atari 2600. I spoke with one of the programmers and we talk a little about the possibility of Atari Age carrying their very unique product. I think this is in the works, but who knows? Someone here may have the link to their great BIN files.

Actually, I loved Kamino's Cyplix review. Not to say I agree with it, but it is very humourous as are many of his reviews. For Cyplix, I purposely choose an very obscure and difficult game to hack as I didn't want to do the 50th hack of Bezerk. It's the kind of game you hate in the beginning because it is so hard to get into the water without being killed. But once you figure out the trick to it and discover there are two levels in the game, it gets much more interesting and fun to play.

Currently with a whole lot of help, the Gray Games site is being built. It will give some background on each of the games, how and where to buy them, reviews and so on. I won't publish the link until it is done or mostly done.

i know ive been watching and commenting in that thread :) and you'll recall i did the label for E.T. vs. HSW which e.t. holds fondly :)
