  1. I don't know what is causing that problem but I ended up selling my Ranger controllers. Even when they were working "perfectly", the responsiveness just wasn't quite what you expect as far as paddles. I highly recommend getting two sets of original paddles and connecting them via a 2600-daptor. You get that precise feel you need. If you decide to go this route, respond to this message and I can give you details and send a photo of the setup. You'll need a few adaptors to get it working. I've spent a ton of time trying to figure out the perfect paddle setup for 4 player paddle games. I really wanted to use the Atari VCS classic controllers on Stella to work so I could use them wirelessly, and while they do technically work, they're just not as precise as the setup with original controllers and the 2600-daptor, even at the highest sensitivity. After spending countless hours experimenting, I'm convinced the best way to play paddle games is through the Retron 77 community build with the 2600-datptor.
  2. I'll keep an eye out for you for the Intellivision. I found one on Ebay a year or two ago for about $70. Then I sent it out to the guy who mods them to turn it into the "Ultimate Intellivision Flashback" Adds HDMI, every game ever, including some homebrew, and the controllers are mapped perfectly. It's so cool.
  3. It does require you to bypass secure boot. I was able to do that by changing the boot mode from UEFI (the default) to "legacy". Once I did that I was able to disable secure boot.
  4. If anyone else is curious, I solved my own problem. I changed the boot type from UEFI to legacy and now the VCS allows me to boot from a USB. This allows me to get into Batocera from a USB drive.
  5. I'm trying to disable secure boot. I have the new password and I'm able to access the BIOS, but when i go to "administer secure boot" (to turn off secure boot) it says "the operation is only allowed before booting any boot device!!! Please reset system and enter this menu directly if need use this operation". Therefore I can't turn off secure boot. Any ideas?

  7. I don't think there is a way to boot into Batocera from a USB. I'd love to be able to do so, but I've not been able to and I haven't seen anyone come up with a solution. This really sucks because booting into something like Batocera was a huge reason I bought the VCS in the first place. If it was clear from the beginning this wasn't going to be allowed that is one thing, but it was implied that this sort of tinkering would be encouraged, and to change the rules after the fact seems fraudulent.
  8. Unless I'm doing something wrong, turns out a network connection is necessary to sign in. I unplugged the ethernet and turned off the router. I still can't get past the network connection page. There's just no option to pass it up. JustClaws, you mentioned you thought you clicked "skip" or pressed "esc" to get past this stage. Can you (or anyone else reading) confirm you were able to do this? I don't see any "skip" option and I don't have a USB keyboard to try the "esc" method. I would buy a keyboard if it helps me get past the network connection page without connecting to a network. Thanks for your help
  9. Does anyone know a way to bypass the "connect to network" part of booting? I want to use the Atari OS to play Atari Vault games, but I don't want to connect to the internet to do it (so as to avoid the update), however the VCS forces me to connect to the internet in order to access the Atari OS dashboard. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated!
  10. Is there a way to boot into the Atari OS without connecting to the internet? I have a a new VCS in the box and was hoping to never go online so I don't get the new update. But does this mean I won't be able to sign in to the Atari OS? I was hoping to play some of the games from the Atari Vault that should already be installed and then switch back to booting from a USB later on and then go back and forth.
