  1. Thanks Mikebloke for your fine input and advice. I'll try using the PSU and try to ignore the buzzing. I'll keep an eye on the PSU getting to hot, smoking or start smelling. I'll already looking for at replacement online. Thanks again ?
  2. I've just purchased a Videopac G7000 (PAL European) and to my surprise, the power supply is buzzing like an angry bee. It looks like it's working ok, but I think it may be on it's last breath. What to do? Replacement? Repair? Please help!
  3. Really valuable information and a very interesting history behind that chip - thank you for that great bonus-info. I know that this unit was made for the European marked (PAL version) and assembled in Italy with serial no: R 005011 - I hope to find out a lot more about this model I the future, when it's from etc.
  4. Interesting, so accetually a genuine chip! Thanks, for the answer ?

  7. Hi all. First time here, hope to find help - i'm pretty new to cleaning retro electronics, so help would be most welcome :-) I've just bought a Ti99/4A from 1981 (silver) and it works fine, but is in dire need of a good cleaning. Do you have any good advice before undertaking this task (related to the Ti99/4A)? And on a more specific note, does anyove know if there is a CMOS battery to be aware of? Thanks!
