  1. Thank your for pointing these out to me. I want to reiterate this list was not ranked by rarity.
  2. Hey. thanks for the feedback. I am a collector, but obviously not one with your knowledge. as such I had to choose a document to act as my source of truth for this video. First of all, i should point out that this is not a list of “rarest” games. The only reason i included rarity at all was just for context. This is a list of the most valuable games as they were listed in the price guide section of Billy Galaxy’s “Collecting classic video games”. That book did not differentiate between regions, so i wasn’t sure what was PAL va NTSC so I just included them side by side. although it does explain why Klax has some confusing listings with some sites claiming it was never in box (obviously it was boxed somewhere as you have two copies) . some of the games you mention, such as river patrol were not listed in the 2002 price guide i was using. other games, like a asterix ($48 CIB in 2002) are listed with far lower values than the other games i choose. I am sure you are correct, but the source i was using did not contain some of those games or was perhaps undervaluing some. Still I appreciate your comments. this gives me something i can look into when I create the inevitable “corrections from Atari Age” video.
  3. That is a great point, The price guide i was using does not differentiate different versions of Turbo, so i am not sure which one it is referring to. Might have to do a follow up “corrections” video that discusses variants.
  4. Hi. I spent about 20 hours putting together this video. I hope you enjoy it. I took the top 25 most valuable Intellivision games according to Billy Galaxy's 2002 Book "Collecting Classic Video Games" and compare them to the pricecharting CIB prices in August 2022. Find out if those games were a good investment back then. Please share with anyone you think might be interested.
  5. I was trying to limit myself to contemporary sources, and so I used the 2002 book “Collecting Classic Video Games” as my “source of truth” as you can see from my attached image, Air Raid is not listed in that price guide. The 30k dollar sale of air raid happened in 2010. I am not sure if an extant “complete copy” of air raid was known about in 2002. And if it was it was not included in this book. I wanted to show price ranges in 2002 and 2022. If i had included air raid i would have had to speculate on 2002 value. I didn’t want to speculate as i wanted to avoid the guys on Atari Age coming for me about inaccuracies. (but they did anyway ).
  6. That is a question for price charting dot com. I have also had conflicting reports that Klax and Quadrun did (and did not) have boxes. I decided that Pricecharting CIB was what i would use , and there was a sale listed there as complete. maybe it didn’t include a box. the ebay sale doesn’t have any photos, so i just have to take their word for it.
  7. Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I did not include prices from Rarityguide. Just the rarity grade from rarity guide. As I explained in the intro to my video the 2002 prices from a book called "Collecting Classic Video games" by Billy Galaxy and all the 2022 prices from pricecharting for CIB as of August 2022. I'm not sure if rarity guide is even the best source for Rarity, I'd be open to suggestions.
  8. OK. this is good information. I want this to be as accurate as possible. So I am open to suggestions. Thanks.
  9. this better than pricecharting? i will look at it for my 7800 and 5200 videos.
  10. 11. Hi! thank you for the feedback. To clarify, i only used rarity guide for rarity. prices came from price charting (for 2022) and the book “collecting classic video games” by billy galaxy for 2002. i am working on one for 5200 right now, be happy to source somewhere else for rarity if you have a suggestion.
  12. Hi gang. i spent about 30 hours working on this. Hope you enjoy: 25 Most Expensive Atari 2600 Games (From 2002 to 2022)
  13. I am not sure if there is an official preorder list, but I would like to get a pair of these when available.
  14. It was only a composite install. I have a GCopmpSW on pre order, so I am likely going to take the extron out of the chain anyway, whenever that shows up. It was just such odd behavior I was wondering if anyone had seen something similar to it.
  15. I actually didn't do the mod myself, the mod was installed when i purchased it, so it is totally possible we have a bad joint somewhere. I hadn't seen this until I hooked it up to the Extron. In the case of this device my normal chain is to run it out of the 5200 into the extron via composite. Then out of the extron via composite into a Retro Tink Mini from which I go to my TV via an HDMI cable. I do have other devices running into and out of the Extron via S-Video, but not for the 5200. I am seeing this on Star Wars Arcade, Kangaroo, and Moon Patrol. I haven't tested other games, but I was assuming this was the case for all games as it was happening on the three I took a look at.
  16. I have a weird one here. I have a UAV moded 5200 that I am running into an Extron switch. For some reason the video is black and white via the extron switch but in color when I run it straight into the TV. Anyone ever see something like that?
  17. Hi. I have a multimeter but not an oscilloscope. Tonight I did some testing based on the trouble shooting on console 5’s VRAM install guide. I check continuity between the pins on the VDP and the VRAM chips. I also checked the VRAM chip voltages. Everything looked within spec. Not sure what else to check. I also have checked the power supply and the point where the power cables meet the board and the voltage ther is good. I still think it might be the power switch even if I cleaned it. But I don’t know, just because there are no bad traces between the vram and the vdp doesn’t mean that one of those chips aren’t bad.
  18. I am not hearing any audio. And I do not have a copy of frogger.
  19. Hi Gang. I have a colecovision that is powering on, but is just displaying a black screen. I know it comes on and tries to display something because on RF it switches from snow to "black screen" and on Composite it goes from "no signal" on my AVR to "black screen" when powered on. Here is what I have done: 1. replaced capacitors entire system with console 5 cap kit 2. disassembled and cleaned the power switch 3. reflowed solder to cart slot and VDP 4. Tested OEM power supply and it appears to have correct voltages 5. purchased a USBCOL power supply which doesn't resolve the issue 6. I did install a composite mod, but I am not getting video out of the RF either, so I dont think that is the problem. I have also purchased but have not installed replacement Video Ram, Bios chip, and Controller chips from Console 5. I also bought a new rocker switch to replace the power switch. Anyone have any other ideas for things I could try that I have not?
  20. Yeah I removed and replaced the ribbon cable with five individual 26AWG wires. I didn't take a picutre of it...but if i crack it open again i will. Thanks again!
  21. I cleaned off the legs of that IC on the mod chip and hardwired teh mother board to the power board because my ribbon cable was just to messed up. AND IT WORKED! In case anyone is interested here are some more pics of the soldering:
  22. It is totally possible I dropped that glob of solder down there. given your description it would explain what I was seeing. I removed the RF so hopefully I remove this bridge and it works without me having to reinstall RF. Thanks for the tips!!
  23. One other thing I noticed while i was testing this was that this thing was getting EXTREMELY hot. maybe not burning me, but if i touched it i was like "woah" that is hotter than i'd expect.
  24. Hi Everyone! I just picked up a Tandyvision and am interested in modding it for YUV out. I use a GCompSW and a RetroTink 2X Pro so I can stream old games, and also play them on my flat screen. I took The suggestion of -^CrossBow^- and installed the Crayola King mod I got from ebay. I'm going to ASSUME that is the same as the Crayon King commenting on this thread...but maybe not. Anyway. I'm wondering if any of you have installed this mod and if so, perhaps I can get some trouble shooting. First, the 5 pin ribbon cable that connects the mother board to the power board is in rough shape, anyone know if a source for these? I was able to install the device, here are some pictures of the soldering: I removed the RF board and installed an audio out from the via near by the old RF modulator using a 10uf Cap, sound seems ok. Video seems to be off a bit tho: Reds seem a bit magenta. It looks very clear with no noise like it had...but the colors just seem to be a bit wrong. So I have some questions about the board itself. For reference here is the board from Crayon King's ebay listing: I did not run any 5V or Sync out to my TRRS jack...I dont think it needs that...but maybe it does...if so I'm not sure where to hook it up to the TRRS port. Also, I jumped the YPBPR to itslef...which I think is how you tell it you want to run component...but maybe not. Other than that I just wired it up exactly like the diagram. Now that I have it all together it does not turn on reliable...I think this might be due to that bad 5 pin connector ribbon...sometimes it shows up as a solid magenta screen. Sometimes white. sometimes black. and sometimes it shows the game. I did replace the caps but not the voltge regulators. I'm actually not sure which voltage regulator is which, I know there is a 5v and a 12v. Any ideas which one is which? I feel like i'm pretty close on this but it's not quite perfect yet. Anyone else with experience have any trouble shoooting tips I can try? Thanks!
