One of the first games I ever beat as a kid. Still pop it in every few years just to see if I remember everything.

What is your favorite console generation?
neogeo1982 replied to NeoTurboManiac's topic in Classic Console Discussion
It's a fun topic that's still relevant. And I have to agree the adverts I used to see every month in GamePro sold me on the Neo Geo during that time. Though I to wait many years to actually get one. But all around the 4th is my favorite gen too and I've still been working through their libraries of titles to this day.- 66 replies

NES Desert Commander I just go through the scenarios I guess that's beating it. It gives you a victory screen and stat screen.

Save The Kuin
neogeo1982 replied to neogeo1982's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
@Tanooki I was unaware of those forums until you referenced them. And in the buy/sell section I think that gentleman's first post for $50k was serious. Only reversing gears a bit when he received backlash. That's a sad and unfortunate state of affairs with NES releases I keep running into. And I see you have run into this as well and even called some of them out on it. But if I can find them available or on a preorder status I'm going to post about them on AA. The more communication the better. And a higher probability of a larger title release. I just have to be diligent when researching what is out there and the availability before posting about these homebrews. -
Did you guys get them from Dreamcastlive? They always look like they are sold out. A weekend PSO grind on hard mode with other players would be sweet...

That's the one I got too! It made me want to open my battletoads up to see which color cart I got in it. But that's random and this one you get to pick... -
Save The Kuin
neogeo1982 replied to neogeo1982's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
This was so limited it is not one I was going to mention. Same with the RetroZone NES titles. Limited as releases by design. Save the Kuin is still taking backers. The other titles I am mentioning with posts are still available or preorders for reprints are being taken still. I think there is added value to helping people connect with these titles they may not have known were available. I definitely would have bought a couple of these before I did had they been brought to light on these forums. -

Complete in box is like a regular NES release with box and manual and a little fold out map paper. There is one on ebay I see. With the silver cartridge and alternate box art. It's the special edition and it's 250 it looks like. It is an awesome game. Not for 250 though. -
All sold out on Limited Run of course. And Ebay is trending $100 already. How fun is this one? $100 fun? Though I did like one and all of a sudden got an offer of $87 an hour later. So that's better I guess. Still a lot for a puzzler I consider brand new.

Oh wow these are funny. This is definitely still for sale even though the video is from 7 years ago. The cart loaded me right into my PayPal to buy it. Very funny game trailers. And the game looks pretty fun. Several overly priced elsewhere on the net I see. No sense overpaying. Just go to the source right?

This Strategy game looks great. Has anyone played this? The Infiniteneslives.com site looks like it still sells it. But the COVID warning for shipping on the site makes it sound like they haven't reopened after COVID. Either way I liked Centurion and Kings Bounty on Genesis. Mix with a little Warcraft and throw on the NES. Sounds great!

Has anyone backed the physical release of Save the Kuin? Action RPG that looks sweet and still some time to back it on Kickstarter. There is a demo on an NRom on the guys site to try it out too.

Its insane how many people still play online
neogeo1982 replied to Punisher5.0's topic in Sony Playstation 3
It had 196k hits on it. I imagine he'll keep on it with viewership that high. His talk of trying to use expired codes my interest though. I have unused codes for weapons and gear in some of my old cases I never thought of trying. -

Crazy boss battles. Hiding in tall grass to hide from beasties. 4 total game restarts. I finally bested it. With 60% completion? Whatever I'm done with this for awhile. 11 hours this week and 20+ last week I feel I got my money's worth for now. -
NES - Full Quiet After 2 start overs figuring out the mechanics and where things were on the maps I made a 3rd go at it. About 8 hours in I had no special ammo and no healing supplies at a boss encounter I saved at. And no way to backtrack. So a fourth playthrough at 11.5 hours I finally beat it. Worth a 6 year wait? No. But very polished, challenging, good looking NES game it is. Very late game you do get to backtrack and fast travel to explore and build up gear for the final battles. Some of the puzzles are very abstract and even taking notes I struggled putting together Morse code and radio wave puzzle solutions. The action is very tight and responsive. Hiding in grass and shooting at different angles, timed jumps and shooting. Anytime I died it felt like my own shortcomings and I just practiced more, no cheap deaths really. 60% completion and missing a lot of areas I guess. Weird cause I retraced much of the game to get full health packs and ammo for the end game. Super fun and definitely recommend this tite.

Absolutely. There is an action Rpg called Save the Kuin that's only being campaigned for the cartridges to be made. And a projected ship date of this fall. So the release of Full Quiet is kind of a miracle after so very long. It's unfortunate it's right back to waiting for preorders though for anyone that didn't back it still. There's no extras for their store to just get it. -
This is a fun collection and it's pretty cheap brand new still. I take issue with the box not not fitting in a regular cut protective case. It just misses it. And very tight fit in addition to the length. Maybe .5mm x .5mm extra would suffice. Every other boxed NES game I own fits just fine in these cases.

You walk around the world's much like Metal Gear. Go into buildings and caves. Pick up gear, supplies, and upgrades. You can also jump and grab ledges too though. But there are also so so many puzzles. The title screen with the Morse code tapper being a central puzzle in every map section. I took a lot of notes from hints I found scattered just to save time later. It has a day/night cycle that's like Simons quest. More stuff to fight at night unless you sleep. And if you don't a sleep too long a terrible thing comes out and kills you. -
I completely forgot to add my times for this, this week. Good thing for the internet cause I had a hard time figuring out spells without a manual of any kind. Cool concept for spells in this. Power grinded dungeons over and explored for many hours. Can teleport to the final sky world I get killed right away there. So now even more grinding the same dungeons over til I can beat it. Or maybe not, it gets repetitive. Evil wins again I guess.
