It is true that out of all the other flash cart I own (Genesis, SNES, NES, Sega Master System, N64, 5200, 7800 and Vectrex), the Colecovision Atarimax is the only one that allows me to access the main menu with only the reset button. Some of my other flash carts do have a reset button, but as you mentioned before, it just resets the game your are currently playing.

Now most of us own an Atarimax Ultimate SD multicart for out 5200 units, but, what I find frustrating about using it with her, is if I want to play a different game on her every time, I actually have to go over to my 5200 and power her off and then on again, every single time.
The whole point of the OP was about having to "power her off and then on again, every single time", which we've established you don't have to do with the Colecovision Atarimax.

But it still requires using the controller in combination with the console switches to do this. So aside from powering off the console, you still have to be standing next to it. Even with this feature, I've found a few games where this feature doesn't seem to work and I still have to power cycle the console.
In fact now that I think about, most of the flash carts I own require me to be next to them and power the console on/off. Even the FujiNet and UNO I own and use on my 130xe still require me to press a button on those carts along with the reset on the 130xe to restart everything. Sometimes it doesn't work and still loads up the last program I played and I have no choice but to power cycle it still.
My point is that there is apparently, at least one Flash cart, my Colecovision Atarimax, that has the ability to revert back to its menu. My Atarimax does has the most current firmware. Have you done a recent firmware update for your Colecovision Atarimax?

The fact of the matter is that my Colecovision Atarimax does not need to be power cycled on and off in order to access the Main Rom menu Why yours does is a mystery. Anyone else out there with a Colecovision Atarimax who can or can't access the main menu by using the reset button only, because I sure can. The only change to my Colecovision is a power switch mod I did and I don't see how that would affect the Atarimax. It doesn't really bother me either to power cycle but it is really convenient to only have to use the reset button to access other games.

My Atarimax Colecovision has a reset button on the top of the cartridge that takes you right back to the main ROM menu. Hitting the reset buttons stops the game you are playing and opens the main ROM menu allowing you to choose another game without powering off the system. I would love to have that same feature on the Atari 5200 Atarimax or any flash cart for that matter.

I have had a 5200 Atarimax cart for quite a while and although it works great for most games on my system, it produces graphical glitches on some games like Quest for Quintana Roo, K-Razy Shootout, Pac-Man, Jr.Pac-Man and a few others. The strange thing is that the real and reproduction carts of the exact same games play perfectly. My experience with the Concerto 7800 ROMs so far is much more positive. So far all of the ROMs I have played on the Concerto cart play identically to the real cart.

I have 65 of the 69 games. I am missing Bounty Bob Strikes Back, Meteorites, K-Razy Shootout and Zenji. I most likely will never own Bounty Bob Strikes Back or Meteorites due to the exorbitant cost. K-Razy Shootout and Zenji I believe are obtainable but costly. Some games like K-Razy Shootout and Pac-Man have graphical glitches when played on my Atarimax so I had a reproduction carts made and the repro carts play perfectly.

I remember back in December 1982 I was in Toys R US, deciding whether buy a Colecovision or an Atari 5200. The pack in game was the deciding factor for me. If the pack in game had been a game with name recognition like Pac-Man, Centipede or just about anything other than Super Breakout I might of chosen the 5200. The same goes for the Atari 7800 with Pole Position II. IMO Atari marketing's cheap mindset was a major factor in causing both systems to fail.

Can vector graphics be converted to raster graphics?Answer: A raster graphic, which is made up of a specific number of pixels cannot be translated into a vector graphic, an image made up of paths. While it is possible to create a vector image (i.e. an EPS file) from a raster graphic (i.e. a JPEG image), an exact conversion is not possible today and I doubt it ever will be even 10-20 years from now, unless technology finds a way to turn apples into oranges.

I've taken some of those older, thicker overlays that were extremely scratched but not creased and brought them back to a clearer vivid life by using this "As seen on TV" 20+ years old impulse buy, GS27. I don't think they make it anymore but I would imagine there are other plastic polishes or scratch removers out there that would work as well.

The original roller balls used on the CX22, CX80 and CX53 are all the same and are simply a standard 2.25" billiard ball. If you accurately measure the original ball with a caliper you will find that most are ~2.15" -2.20" because they have been worn down a few thousands of an inch over years of use. I replaced the ball in my CX53 with an 8-Ball and it works perfectly, even better than the original. I also modified it with 2 Seimitsu PS-14-GN buttons because the stock buttons are crappy dome switches that stink on ice.

My interest in buying a Vectrex began in 2000 and they were usually around $400 then, although deals were to be found for the lucky or diligent buyer. In 2015, after 15 years of searching and trying to be that lucky or diligent buyer, I finally bought one for $400. If anyone is really serious about buying a Vectrex, my advise is do it now.

If finding the .bin/.car/.atr files in one post and the .HYB file in another is a simple search to you, then you are a greater man then I, Gunga Din. This thread has gone on for over 3 days with no resolution until now. Did your posts on this thread help the OP to find this game? I think not...
-
I found GTIABLAST! as well on my 1st search, but not everyone is going to know that it is the same game as Atariblast! or require cross refencing from different topics to find. This post started on Tues. The 1st mention of GTIAblast! wasn't made until now, 3 days later, but better late than never.
-
Finally, found on 2 different past posts referencing GTIABLAST!, not Atariblast!. Here are the .HYB file and the .bin/.car /.atr files. I Downloaded both onto my Atarimax, clicked on the .HYB file and it plays very nicely.
P.S. Thanks for you assistance Crossbow. This is a difficult game to find.

It's apparent that "it requires being run from an Atarimax cartridge". I have an AtariMax but the Atariblast! ROM is not included. The non-answer of "Confirmed that this is an AtariMax required game as it is one of the few .HTB games on my AMax. It is a hybrid and quite large requiring two files with the HYB being the actual file you run and it has a .dat file containing the rest of the game assets", still gives no clue to anyone as to how to find the ROM. So no, I don't think I'll find that the question was answered earlier in the thread. It might be on your AMax but It's not on mine and the ROM is nowhere to be found.
-
The original question asked by Giles N. "Anyone knows how to obtain/buy/get the homebrew ATARIBLAST?" has not been answered. I diligently searched the web trying to find the Atari 5200 version of Atariblast!, ROM or cartridge, and they are nowhere to be found!

My CX53 modified with Seimitsu PS-14-GN buttons, and a brand new 8 ball. I bought new bearings but after I cleaned and greased the original bearings, they work smoothly and flawlessly, so I'll wait to replace them (If it ain't broke, don't fix it). I measured the original ball with a caliper and it was .05" smaller than a regulation 2.25" dia. pool ball. I believe that it is slightly smaller due to almost 40 years of wear and tear. IMO, The 8 ball with it's slightly larger diameter has better form, fit and function than the original due to it not being worn down.

Of 5200 controllers: is 5200 Maker Matrix or RetroGameBoyz better or equal?
in Atari 5200

I've had the RetroGameBoyz 5200 joystick for more than 6months and out of the box it is well built and works pretty well. The trimmers are nice because you can easily calibrate it's centering with Missle Command as well as use the horizontal trimmer as a paddle controller for games like Kaboom! and Super Breakout. My only issues with it were the cheap Blee Sanwa knock off joystick that is stock and very little space to comfortably rest my hand and palm. I replaced the cheap Blee joystick with an authentic Sanwa JLF and built an oak enclosure around it. The stick is now so much more tactile and smooth and I now have a very comfortable ergonomic accurate joystick.
