Any game that has couch multiplayer (especially 3+ players) is a must for me. Both of these sounds awesome. Cymatically Muffed in particular looks like it will make for an awesome death match

I'm not sure this fits the theme of this thread (it's more of a complaint/ suggestion box), but I genuinely appreciate Atari's efforts this year to increase the number of VCS releases. About a year ago, it seemed like new titles were at a trickle. Atari said they were going to continue VCS support with a bunch of new titles, and I feel like lately they have really delivered. I definitely think there are still a few rough edges with the VCS experience, but on the thing that matters to me the most (a continuously supported console with a growing library of solid games) I thing they have delivered. Kudos VCS team.

I was asking around for Qomp 1 a few months back because it seemed like a natural fit for the VCS. I get potential compatibility issues (especially with an older title that wasn't designed with this console in mind). I am very pumped that the VCS will get the sequel though.

I love any opportunity for competitive 4-player action, so any game with that as a feature (Quadratank, Avian Knights, etc) is a must buy for me.

Same here. I use windows, and I've found it works really well in PC mode.

[Do you enjoy your VCS? Recommend purchasing one?]

The VCS 800 gets a strong recommendation from me, provided that you know what to expect. The main detraction for me is that currently you have to do some work to get it updated and ready to play out of the box (flashing a drive or something, honestly I'm not sure because I got mine before the big update, so it wasn't an issue for me). That said, it's a fantastic "swiss army knife" of a console. It's not the best at anything, but does a bit of everything well. I love most the official Atari OS games (a great mix of Atari original titles and some fun indie fare). Several recharged games work best (imo) on the VCS with the classic controller. On top of it's merits as a console, I also love the versatility of having it turn into a mini gaming PC when you want. I use my VCS as an emulation station for older games, and regularly use it for contemporary games on steam and gog.com. The versatility is the biggest selling point for me. I know the hardware is not the latest for a high end gaming PC, but it's worked fine for me on about everything that I've tried (with a couple of upgrades; m2 drive and ram for me). It is currently my main machine for playing games, and I use it just about everyday.

My Golf is a personal favorite of mine and still gets a lot of play. Thanks for this chart. I will check this out soon (maybe it will give me an inside edge in games against my brother 😉)

I played this one for a while yesterday. I found the modern controller worked best for me (not that I'm particularly good at it). The game is very fun and I can definitely see spending a lot of time with it. Solid recommendation.

Pixel Cup Soccer is a mainstay for couch multiplayer at my place. Myself and a few friends are soccer fans, and Pixel Cup reminds me of an updated take on NES World Cup. It's great fun with a enough teams and details to keep soccer fans entertained, but arcadey enough to be approachable to casual players.

Yeah, I wasn't really familiar with Quantum, but seeing a few gameplay videos, I'm not sure how you do that without a trackball.

I hope to see this one on the VCS. I am a big fan of Pixel Games' existing releases (especially Sir Lovealot), and this game seems like it's a perfect addition to the console.

The new update for Tower of Rubble is awesome (I am loving the addition of competitive local 2-player). Is there a possibility of competitive 2-player as an option for Amoeba Jump in a future update?

[John Hancock's 2600 Homebrews - (in VCS Store)]

These look like a lot of fun, and I will definitely pickup both once I get home tonight. I am really digging the new 2600 games getting released on the VCS. They work great alongside the recharged titles and great indie releases that are already on the console. I feel like the new 2600 titles are helping give the VCS a unique identity as a console that it had been missing before.

I absolutely love the North and South Port on the NES. Such a great local multiplayer experience with a friend. This seems like an awesome spiritual successor on the Jag. I'll have to give your PoC version a try. I'll be really excited to see this develop.
