What ever else can be said about Atari SA, I love how responsive they are. I give them a lot of credit for providing answers when they are available.

I have done 3 player on avian knights, and it's a blast. Such a good local multiplayer title

Very cool. I like that Atari is diversifying a bit in genre. Also, I like that the VCS is first in the console list at the end. Promote that console, Atari
-
I was wondering about that too. Either way I am very happy about this move. Official Atari sanctioned releases of these new/ homebrew 2600 titles is awesome.

I'll echo some of the previous comments. I think that the VCS is the definitive way to play most of the Recharged titles because of the classic controller. I have liked plenty of other titles, but they are the "must haves" in my book, because I don't think they will control the same on other consoles.

I can't speak to the rom being stolen myself (I am I think most people are very happy to get this release from the VCS store), but I can say that Alien Abduction has been a very welcome addition to the VCS console. As much as I love the VCS, the machine has had a bit of an identity crisis from the beginning (a lot of folks saying "why should I buy this exactly?). Alien Abduction has gotten a lot of praise from the community, and I've been hearing more people saying "I'm looking into the VCS now" because of this release. I'm not saying that the console's fortunes are reversed or anything, but I think it's a good step towards finding it's niche. Atari should be supporting more output from classic game developers such as yourself.

I had some friends over for some local multiplayer, and this game was a hit. I think the arena mode is going to be on regular rotation on my VCS.

I love the look of this. Seems very fast paced and frantic.

It's great to see Atari giving the VCS some love. It was a great idea to give the VCS a surprise exclusive title. I wonder if they're planning this as a strategy. Smaller classic style titles by some legendary developers. Time will tell...

This is an overall banger of a game. I had a few friends over a few nights ago, and 2 player co-op was a fan favorite. I'm interested to see the updates.

You might be thinking of Games by Apollo. I think they have a dodgey reputation. That said, they have a few fun titles. I am personally a fan of Lost Luggage. Nothing ground breaking (sort of a Kaboom clone), but who else would have thought to turn a luggage carousel into the inspiration for a video game.

I am pumped that these VCS releases are happening fairly regularly. Keep the love coming.

Thanks for the update @justclaws. I have been a big fan of OPs titles on the VCS, and I have been following his updates on this game in particular. I'm glad he's planning on a VCS port, because it looks like a ton of fun.

From the non-technical among us, bravo to you. That's the best non-tech answer I've heard for this behavior in some 2600 games.

I definitely agree. I am really excited to see how this title turns out. Thanks for the update.

In an Atari forum, a conversation about retail discounts ends in the revelation that half of us have cancer. I wasn't ready for this when I opened up the thread. 😉

Seems that way. Looks like it will be a fun 2 player experience. I'll pick it up when it comes out.

That is a great retro guide, Carl. I wish I had seen it before I started playing. Lots of good info.

That was my experience too. Other items like data pods can be on the roof, but sheds are always on the ground. They are also usually heavily defended. Usually, I just fly around the sector and wait to get shot at. The sheds are usually close by

Atari VCS Store Order Number High-Score :)

I love D/Generation. It's obviously not a new game, but I hadn't played it until I got it for the VCS. It has some seriously fun/ diabolical level design. -
Had not thought of that. Good point.

I feel like that is a half truth. The VCS doesn't have the install base for Atari to put all of their eggs in it's basket. They need to sell to other markets (like Steam, other consoles, etc) because that's where the bulk of their revenue will come from. That said, they have been supporting it pretty well so far this year, with a bunch of 1st and 3rd party releases, and a bunch more on the horizon. I would love to see some of those Steam titles released on the VCS, but I'm not going to fault Atari for lack of support right now. Lately they seem like they're giving the VCS it's due.

Bingo. A couple of nukes thins out the ranks, and then go in low and clean up the leftovers
