  1. Just got my copy: here's my friend code info: name: mavimao fc: 2277 1363 6792
  2. A very funny live reenactment of an imaginary goldeneye level with all the quirks of the N64 classic. http://www.break.com/movies/goldenapple.html
  3. I bought an N64 for Ocarina of Time. Only...the game wouldn't come out for another two years. But I had great fun with Mario and Goldeneye.
  4. NES (christmas 86 - 87?) Game Boy (christmas 89 or 90) Genesis (paper route money - 1993) Gamecube (three-way purchase with friends in college. Fall 2001) GBA (christmas 2002) DS lite (June 2006)
  5. Yeah exactly, they could very easily make them available but with better localization. Here's to hoping they will!
  6. Ah, I get ya. Well after loosing every single time in Mac Chess, a fair fight would be nice.
  7. Well, it's good to see that there are kids who like the 2600. (now I go back to my DS).
  8. Agreed with the others. My girlfriend and I call the AI "Mr Self-Destruct" (after the NIN song of course). Warlords is the perfect 4 player games. A good 2 player game. An ok 1 player game.
  9. I see you're from washington state and yet, I fail to understand how you've played the game when it isn't released in the states until the 9th of October. In any case, this game is on my "get right away list". I probably wouldn't have cared if it didn't have wifi, but I am excited to play a game of chess with another person overseas.
  10. I bought mine used in the spring of 98. I had to get one after playing an N64 at a friend's house, and reading that a Zelda game would be released for it. I forget how much I paid for it (200 francs maybe?) but I got a controller and Super mario 64. I remember the salesperson giving me a hell of a time for wanting the N64. He kept saying, "why don't you get a playstation? I mean look, the N64 has these games" and he points to a really small selection "but look at all THESE games!" and then he pointed to an opposite wall with a behemouth of PS1 games. I wanted to say, "If I wanted a million racing games and a million Fighting games I'd buy one. But I want effing Zelda and mario!" but I didn't. The funny part was, they didn't have the box, so they gave me the hardware and some wires and when I got home ready to plug it in...I found out they had given me a Playstation AV cable. Bastard. Had to walk all the way back into town to replace the cable. Great times with that machine. Goldeneye and Turok 2 multiplayer was the source of many an after party frag marathons.
  11. The Wii has a slot loading drive that accepts both 8cm and 12 cm disks. I don't know how it works, but it apparently does.
  12. I like your icon! I think Doom is a neat idea. I wonder why there are only 4 players online? I shouldn't think that the Doom engine is very taxing on the Xbox 360....
  13. 8 dollars total? i've heard mixed things about that game. Convince me, and I'll take it :-P
  14. It's the Netherlands. It says it in the info, but I figured it out from the city scenes.
  15. Yup, it's apparently Japan only. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153875&did=1
  16. Let me know if you think this is worthy, but I would like to trade these old carts I have for a copy of one of the following: Brain Training, Tetris, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Animal Crossing. The carts in question are: Track and Field (konami) Cybernoid Ninja Gaiden 2 Dragon Sprit: The New Legend Blaster Master Bionic Commando Super Mario 3 Your choice of SMB/duck hunt/World Class Track Meet, SMB/Duck hunt, or BOTH!
  17. The screen scratching is not as bad as you would think. You have to remember that the demo kiosk DSes are under a lot of wear and tear. More than any one sane person would handle their DS. I have had mine since launch and I have noticed some light scratching in the middle due to a crap load of Metroid Prime Hunters matches, but you only notice it when it's off and turn it to its side.
  18. I wish there was an option in the polls for "still very much interested, Wii kicks ass, don't care about DVD or region lock, blah praise blah, but I might wait til a price drop or a better bundle package." That's my feeling.
  19. I wasn't aware that Space Invaders was multiplayer? Oh yes! 17 to 112 have some form of two-player, including co-op, which are really fun to play. For me its: Warlords Video Olympics Surround Maze Craze Space Invaders Pressure Cooker (it's fun to have a bunch of people yelling, "now you need a tomato! Get a tomato!" It makes the game easier and funniester).
  20. The power glove was a third party accessory from Mattel. Touché.
  21. You know, it's little things like this that have me excited about the Wii and its controllers. For me, it's not so much about waving my arms around in some crazy new way as it is the fact that all these different genres are possible right out of the box with great control, and no accessories to buy. Steering wheel, light gun (one that works on ALL TVs), FPS controller, golf club, classic/gamecube support: it's all there! Developers can create onrail shooters again with no need to worry about people buying their expensive lightgun which will be good for two games tops. People don't need to spend oodles of money on that golf controller that came out this year. All these simple possibilties right out of the box. Eff light saber battles and interactive mario: I want Virtual Cop and Hogan's alley!
