  1. replies vs non replies is a pickle. pretty much all responses to any project will be problems. you dont see many because your program doesn't suck. it doesn't suck so much that it has ran all other 2600 emulators out of the business. you can, and should do things on your own time and interest level. seriously no one should expect anything else.

  2. in regard to the credit toll over , what kind of scores were seen on the ZPH session? 5mil 20? you could use hex leading digit and get 6x worth at least. or maybe some graphics table lookup as the leading digit. People could submit the screenshot (activision oldschool) and get the x symbol = 14 you kick ass

  3. i downloaded the image and in steem(sse) it shows image as 84 sectors but inside the emulator it shows 2-80-9 . I can see all the files but since I dont have any timeworks software to load the .img files i dont know if they are working. What ver of msa are you using for the image? I have jay 17 and 18 and the original msa ver 103 and 141. Maybe you could use proreb or progem to make an image. they had standard copy modes even though they were intended for protected stuff.

  4. had to be summer 78. Dad went to sunnyvale couple times a month for work. came back one time with couple bags of what looked line electronics junk. it was the main board and switch board , the aluminum case, no bottom cover or plastic case at all. there were several carts almost all with no cases. There were jsticks paddles and indy 500 controllers. all sorts of random cables and components. apparently there was a place in some stripmall that would dumpster dive and get tons of rejects, I guess qa fails. This one had the rf box smashed we had to replace it and wire up and fix some controller issues. Had to hand craft a bottom cover for the alum box. eventually Dad got a plastic enclosure on one of his trips. it had the gray 9v wall supply and some early jstick versions at least from what I see in the forums.

  5. does every thread need to get into what a 'real machine' means? We have had a lot of years to shake out whats needed with the hardware to get what we want out of it. If not everyone has the hardware, and really who does, you can play it on the emulators. the dev can make whatever he wants the way he wants, no deadlines, (Christmas shipment) manuals already printed, doesn't resemble screenshots. Who cares.

  6. you seem to have conversions down, as i've seen several out in a very short period. Since you seem to be doing straight ports, and have mentioned several times you don't want to be changing fixing etc , I was wondering if you have reached out to the various super talented folks around here for graphics updates , sound music enhancements or game mode additions? Most of the Activision 8 bits did some level of updates . You can still release your straight across ports, people will still appreciate the efforts.

  7. in the forum post you reference it links to a mag article and it says something about draft mode vs better quality. I don't know if nlq (near leter quality) is that mode or not, also switch 4 you might try as you say it doesnt do anything several tries.  maybe eol or line feed (4) is incorrect. finally printer type bits (5-7) maybe 8? there were many printers of the era that said they were epson compat, but you had to screw around with settings , or didn't work right.

  8. if you saw both colored that would imply there was another one which there isn't. that would lead you to chase incorrect words and you only get so many correctly spelled word guesses. your not allowed to just fill the lines with random letters to exclude stuff.
