  1. Well, the nick I use here is easy. I'm a dude with guitars!
  2. I gotta go with being Pitfall Harry in Pitfall II. Hope it can be for the 5200 version where everything goes crazy when you beat the regular game.
  3. Well, I found the Coleco one surprisingly easy to use (and I have big hands). Hell, using my Commodore 64, it was my controller of choice. Found a glitch like that too. Summer Games II in the javelin event, hold down the right fire button, the guy would run super fast and giving you great distance on the throw. As for the 5200 controllers, they were the original non self centering ones that caused me great pain in Pac-Man. Could have easily been just Dig Dug.
  4. I wonder if the dead fish floppo original controllers are worth more than the self centering ones these days. I remember being in Sears are trying PacMan on the 5200 with the original controllers. My friend was begging I get a 5200 since he had the Colecovision. After trying PacMan (why doesn't he TTTTUUURRRNNN!!!), I think I RAN and grabbed a Colecovision. Besides, Venture and Looping are still classics to me.
  5. Just stay away from the MK Mythologies:Sub Zero....whooo, what a stinker...
  6. I was unaware there was any hate towards MAME at all. I do understand from the purists point of view but some people just wanna play games, so they'll use it. The only person I ever thought there was any hate towards was the guy who has the Marble Madness II roms, but I gather that's just from people who want to play the game and are frustrated that they can't.
  7. My girlfriend once threw my camo Neo-Geo Pocket in a fit of rage and it surprisingly survived the onslaught. Luckily, it hit on the back of the NGP when it hit the wall and the floor.
  8. What's your favorite videogame compilation and what system is it for? For a bonus question, what compilation do you wish a company would make? My fave so far is the Capcom Classic Collection for Xbox, though I'll be getting the one for PSP when it comes out (has a few different games on there). I wish Sega would do one for PSP (especially w/ Space Fury and Zaxxon on it) or Konami (w/ Time Pilot and Time Pilot II) for PSP. Hopefully, if Midway decides on a volume 4 it'll be a sports collection w/NBA Jam & NFL Blitz on it.
  9. As far as I can remember, Frenzy was Colecovision only. Always wondered how Atari snagged Berzerk but passed on Frenzy....
  10. Maybe it's an item from the Acclaim garage sale when they went out of business that made it's way accross the pond somehow. They were selling tons of stuff then, but I don't remember seeing any Saturns.
  11. the Commodore 64 was a videogame system that used floppy disks! It's the link between the '83 crash & the NES .
  12. I prefer using CCS64 and is very much worth the fee to make controllers usable. there's basically NO game that doesn't work on it. Also, with the built in FastLoad feature, no game takes that long to load (I'm talkin' to YOU, Castle Wolfenstein!). Hell, I even transferred my old C64 disks to *.D64 files using a program called Star Commander and my old 1541 drive some years ago, so i was able to continue long saved games.
  13. Well, tons of fun! My friend took the wrong turn off from NYC so we ended up taking the I-78 to Philly instead of the Jersey Tpke. We ended up in FW about 3:45 and I'm cursing cause I thought it was over at 4pm. Not the case as I played Defender till I puked. I haven't played in on an arcade machine in years and was surprised I still had the touch. Got in some Marble Madness and cursed that someone broke Dig Dig! Played some Robotron and a giant chicken came over and tapped me on the shoulder. I met Bill Kunkel and bought Confessions Of A Game Doctor and the Encyclopedia of Videogame Systems. Went to Philly and we all got sick on cheesesteaks. Only sad point was one of our friends called us up and said WWE Wrestler Eddie Guerrero was found dead that morning. Great show nonetheless....
  14. I'm heading out about ten from Long Island, NY. My friends and I said f**k it and we're taking a road trip and then some obligitory cheesesteaks. I hope Kunkel still has some books left....
  15. Actually, I think Show Biz bought Chuck E. Cheese and decided to go with the rat instead of the bear. That's some arcade history as the guy who started Show Biz was going to be a CEC franchisee, but bowed out to start SB. Nolan Bushnell sued and ended up getting a percentage out of SB. Later, CEC was going ot and SB bought them up.
