  1. As the title says, I'm looking for a Falcon 030. I would prefer 14MB, but I would consider a 4MB version as well if the price is right. Hard drive is not as important as I'd probably just put a larger one in anyway. Let me know what you have and how much you're asking. I'll be happy to hear from you! Thanks!
  2. Good point, but then what if I DO need to use it? Then I have to take the machine apart to get it back out... I may do that with this 800 and then if I get another one, I'll chop it. Thanks for the idea.
  3. Can anyone tell me any possible problems with cutting the RF lead off the back of the 800 and converting it to a female RCA plug? I now run my 800 solely off a C1702 monitor and having the RF cable off the back is just taking up space. I would like to just have a plug back there where I can connect a RCA plug and run it to a TV if needed. Let me know your thoughts... Thanks!
  4. Well, I just realized I don't have a basic cartridge for the 800 and 400... I thought there was one in the box, but it turned out to be an old Donkey Kong. Anyway... guess I'll have to wait until I find one to check the GTIA capability.
  5. I recently scored an Atari 800, 400, 410, and 2 2600's off craigslist for $35. I've done some searching and can't seem to easily find the answers to these questions, so I'll start a new topic: 1. I seem to remember there was an easy way to tell if my 800 had the GTIA capability. If I remember right, it was simply trying a GR. 9 command, but since I don't have the machine currently hooked up, I can't test that. Can anyone confirm? 2. I have my 800XL upgraded with the Super Video upgrade. I never realized just HOW MUCH difference that made until I hooked my 400 up and saw the factory default configuration on the same monitor. Is there any such upgrade for the 400 or 800 to clean up the video? 3. Are there any other upgrades I could do to my 800 that would be worthwhile? 4. Does anyone have the documentation scanned for the RAMBO-XL upgrade? I have one for my XL in mint (never installed) condition, but I need to get the docs to do the upgrade. Thanks for the info in advance!!! Brian
  6. Heya all... I'm looking for an SC1435 Monitor if anyone has one. Shoot me a PM with a price and we'll talk. I'm in the Kansas City area so you could estimate shipping. Thanks!
  7. My gear arrived as well... slightly damaged by the courier, but works fine and damage has been mostly repaired. =) Thanks!
  8. Ship was already well below sea-level when the Falcon was released. Due to a long history of Vaporware and poor customer support, noone wanted to buy into the Atari name. Also, Atari, having long been known for their game machines, were not taken seriously when they released a computer with more power than most PC's of the time. If they had shipped the Falcon under a pseudo-company not quickly related to Atari, put a 32MHz chip in it, and built it in a Mega/TT style case (or PC style case), I think it would have done so much better.
  9. I emailed the seller and told them that their prices were WAY overboard and gave them a good idea of what they would go for. She (I assume is a she) said she didn't know anything about them and had no clue what to put on them. Someone had told her that since they were the original ST and 800 models, she could get alot of money for them. Also, she said she didn't smoke. (Because I asked her if I could share some of what she was smoking). =) Seems like a nice person, just really clueless about what she has and what they're worth.
  10. I also ran out of space a long time ago in my house, so I built my own room in the basement (about 250sq ft) as my computer lab. I have my 2 gaming PC's on my main desk, then a 2nd desk with my A8 Setup on it (and jaguar), a 3rd desk with my ST setup on it, and a 4th desk with my MP3 recording setup on it. Then I have my workbench where I do all my tech-stuff. I'd say I'm pretty fortunate to have all the room that I do have, although at times, even THAT seems small.
  11. Not sure why it won't let me PM, but here ya go... how much for one of the RamboXL's?
  12. Thanks guys... anyone want it? I don't do MIDI and it's just taking up space. Pay shipping and it's yours.
  13. Hey all... just had to pass this along... I recently ordered a 32 in 1 WarpOS upgrade, a Happy 1050 Upgrade, a MyIDE, and a registered version of APE from Steve Tucker and AtariMax. Wow!!! I've got to say, the customer service has been awesome, the upgrade documentation provided was awesome, and I had a really great overall experience. My 800XL now has the Supervideo 2.1 Upgrade, and all the aforementioned upgrades. I'm running a 480MB hard drive which has a few partitions on it, nowhere near full *yet*. So, Thanks Steve, and keep up the great work! Brian
  14. Thanks all... I figured "close enough" would be fine, but I wanted to make sure. My other option would be to cannibalize one of my other XL motherboards for a few 75Ohm resisitors, but I'd prefer not to butcher a good machine for parts. =)
  15. I'm going to attempt the Supervideo 2.1 mod on one of my 800XL's this weekend, but I have found 75Ohm Resistors to be somewhat hard to find. Can I pair up a couple of other resistors to make the 75Ohm, or is it going to be ok to us an 82Ohm or 68Ohm instead? I've checked with Radio Shack and they don't have any of the 75 Ohm available. Any help would be appreciated.
