I think you have to desolder some wiring in order to remove the mainboard.

Bingo. I've read through the service manual. There's a LOT of desoldering and stuff that honestly scares the daylights out of me to get the mainboard out.

If that was an option, the poor thing would be already on it's way to Sean in Illinois for repair, unfortunately for me...

Really I'm surprised it hasn't happened already, since so many other KOF games are.  I tend to buy them on deep discount, so I won't have the current KOF for probably a year or two.

Well, the game just came out yesterday. Doesnt surprise me its not on thr list yet. Give it a bit of time and im sure it will be. Don't wait a year or two on XV, it's absolutely stunning and makes xiii and xiv look like junior dev efforts.

I was thinking of it only for a 'hard' setting but I can understand not having enough room to code more stuff.  Game looks great already!

I know you're not ready yet, but can you maybe start a list of people interested if for anything to see if your numbers justify a physical release?

This is chinese for "put me on the list, .... like right away, please". Genuinely, sterling job. We need devs like you with your talents. Keep at it.

I'll be there!  Installing it tonight after I get home from work, but I'll need a few days of practice and internalization before I'm brave enough to venture online.

Let me know when you get it. I've played over 4 hours (3 with friends). Not just saying this, legit the most fun I've had with a fighting game in well over a decade, and the most fun I've had with an SNK fighting game since the Neo Geo MVS days. The amount of polish, soul, life and love put into this iteration doesn't even feel like the same SNK we've been tolerating for the last two decades with aggravatingly terrible games like Heroines or Maximum Impact for example.

If this was done by an entirely new team of fans of the IP, I honestly wouldn't be surprised. It's like a blood transfusion into a dying patient. This genuinely has me wearing my SNK fanboy badge again with pride. The amount of screaming, laughing and jeering done tonight over comms hasn't been matched since the arcade era. That's saying SO much.

Literally made me feel like a kid again. If you ever want to play, hit me up in DMs for Steam invite sometime. To anyone else reading this, this makes SFV, Soul Calibur VI and Virtua Fighter V look like lazy hack jobs by comparison (and in comparison to SFV's DLC crap downright highway robbery), please consider supporting this gem of a title.

Whenever you find a person to work on the board, have then add a set of sockets of the DIP ICs to make future maintenance easier.

Thats a big if. Posted this so many places. No bites to help me ao far.

  6. I need a new sound chip soldered on my mobo of my Vectrex. I've been advised to find someone locally. Shouldn't be too hard of a job, and I have access to the chip so sourcing won't be an issue.

Not gonna lie, im pretty desperate at this point as shipping this is not only pricey but very dangerous for the systems wellbeing. The thing is near mint and I dont want it damaged in any way.

So begging aside, if anyone can help me please, pm me or post here. Willing to pay for your time and drive to you.

  7. I've been talking to Sean about this. Seems my sound chip needs replacing. For those who might have the same issue, now you know what's wrong with yours. Unfortunately its not socketed like some peoples, and needs a solder job.

If anyone has any recommendations im all ears. I can source the part, thank goodness that's easy at least......

  8. Well, its been fine today. Any chance it can't get enough power from a surge protector? Haven't tried going back to it (out of fear), so it might have been the system ane not the protector. Didnt think that would be an issue. My pc runs off the surge protector just fine so I dont get it.

Maybe the system just wasn't played for a long time and needed warming up lol, no clue.

  9. I just bought a Vectrex is near mint condition. No wobble on the joystick, no giant scratches or anything, it was an amazing find at 150.

I need to play it again tonight, but last night for for a little bit I was having some problems. When I'd start minestorm my ship would rotate endlessly. I could use the fire, boost and warp buttons just fine but can't counter the spin. It does not spin when the controller is unplugged.

I plugged it into another power strip. After resetting twice controls worked just fine. And the controls have worked fine since. Then the sound faded to almost mute. After a while the sound came back then disappeared.

I plugged it in directly into the wall and control and sound is perfect now. Now, im not stupid enough to think the wall plug in method magically fixed anything. At first I thought it was a controller issue, but now I'm thinking it could be capacitors.

I have no kdea how to do those or how to tell if they need replaced. If anyone else has a better idea let me know.

    Thank you.
