I would highly recommend a greaseweazle for any ST or image copying to images!
I used this to create .ST file from all of my old ST 3.5 disks. I was even able to get the Spectre formatted ST (mac on ST) disk images.

I am very interested in getting a few of these built from a doner 600Xl I have.
What version of your board do you suggest I work with? 1.2?

In the link of the photo of the SDrive Max that beeble provided, I am trying to understand the connections. They say:
1 USB Male A to Male B cord (any USB charger will work to provide power to your unit. Some power strips even have USB charge ports built-in to them.)
So the SDrive Max plugs into the Atari, eventually, via its connected Molex cable end. The what-we-think-of-as standard USB cable (the typical one that plugs in at the back of the PC to run keyboards, mice etc) plugs into the PC to transfer the data. So the other end of that USB cable, far right with the yellow mark then plugs into the SDrive Max? I thought I remember that the SDrive Max doesn't need external power; it is supplied by the Atari?
Can someone please clarify all the above for me with the cables in that photo?
I have hand built Sdrive Max devices if you are interested.

Nice work!
Sounds like I have more projects on my plate to explore now.

Looks to be a fit. The picture below has the new Tandon belt shown in the inside of the larger belt which was in the Indus. The difference in size could be due to warping and stretching. I didn't stretch it to get it out so it truly was in there with that much slack. Thanks again @Jfcatari.
@macsonny, now time to look into the fabric for backup! Thanks.
Glad to hear the GT is up and running again!
The GT was always a work of ART for the Atari 8bit line.

I would recommend the following project:
https://github.com/retro16/acsi2stm
I created an alt board here that is simple and all through hole design. This board is based on the design in the original above.
https://github.com/jfceklosky/acsi2stm-alt-hardware
I am planning on building the DB-19 version and placing them on ebay (at cost plus a small assembly fee).

The HD is probably toast. Is the drive SCSI or MFM?
If it is SCSI you can look at one of the Zulu SCSI devices or a Blue SCSI / Blue SCSI V2 project. All of these use SD card for storage.

Good luck.
I have an indus in mint condition that still works. I have replaced belts on the 1050 tandem with belts from console 5.

Thanks for mentioning that.
I would give it try with -video-accel for openGL

I just looked at the specs that should be a decent machine with a 12th gen i3 and 8 GB RAM.
Did you check here?
chrome://flags/
Type that in the chrome address bar and search for GPU. Make sure everything is on.

There is not much that I can think of to boost the performance.
How much memory do you have? I know the chromebooks are not upgradeable memory wise like the Chromeboxes are.
I have an Acer i5 8thgen chromebox with 8 GB RAM and it seems just fine for me.
I have been working with Linux since 1994, so tinkering with Linux under Chrome OS, is like old hat to me.

Currently ChromeOS linux is using bullseye, you can update to bookworm using the following. Bookworm includes atari800 version 5.0.0 while bullseye is using 4.1

Here is how to install atari800 on the linux side of chromeOS
- sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list
- Add the following line to the end of the values listed: deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye contrib
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install atari800
atari800 is not found in the main repos, but it is the contrib.

Atari 800 Core does CPU 1, 2x, 4x,8x, and 16x.
No on the Antic/GITA!
Does do Dual Pokey. RAM sizes all over the place, and Drive speed Standard, FAST-0 - FAST-6

I have a MiSTer and will check and let you know on the speeds. I think it does support faster CPU, not sure about Antic/GITA stuff.
Also the MiSTer is a fantastic device! I have it running everything under the sun in the Atari line 2600 to ST, no TT though.

Really nice design...love the cart layout!

I have the 27" and I think it is a great monitor over all. Works well on all modern stuff along with the ST (low, med, high)!
I do wish the 22" worked like the 27", I was also afraid of the size of the 27", but have gotten used to it.
At least I can save others from making the mistake and picking up the 22"!

So, does this monitor work or not? Jfcatari, did you use the switching cable with it? If you used a regular VGA cable then it won't work. I'm interested since the 27" would just be too large for my space. I have a switching VGA cable that I built years ago. Shift838, any chance of getting some pictures of the different resolutions. Also can the monitor be set to 4:3 resolution to avoid stretching?
Yes I used an ST switching cable with the 22". It only works in HighRes.
I also tried the box from Shift838, same deal.
The 22 does support 4:3.
The only monitor that works in all resolutions is the 27" Dell.

What tests have been conducted so far?
It's possible for there to be problems without anything getting hot, FWIW.
Sorry, minor brain fart on my behalf: the regulators on XLs and XEs are in the PSU. Apologies for giving the impression they're on the motherboard.
You may want to try a USB adapter rated for at least 2A. See https://www.8bitclassics.com/product/atari-xl-xe-usb-power-cable/ for the appropriate cable.
Thanks for all of the pointers!
False alarm on the 130XE greenish screen. I had a marginal PSU being used. I should have started their first. I guess one of the 130Xe's was OK with the lower input value.
With a good PSU that is outputing 5.12v both 130XE's are A OK with blue colors on the Fujinet config screen when the Devkit Fujinet is pulled in WITH or WITHOUT power to the Fujinet!

Power supply and / or voltage regulator. It sounds like the FujiNet (or something else) is drawing down the XE's power to the point where the GTIA is being weird when it's connected.
FWIW, I did catch that you're using the same PSU with both machines. To eliminate the PSU as a possibility, you'd need a second known-good one to test with. Having said that, it seems more likely that the VR (as a starting point) may be getting flaky.
Also, check voltages on the main ICs (not just the GTIA) with the FujiNet both connected and removed. If they're under 5VDC at any point, at least you know it's a power issue.
Is this FujiNet one that was handbuilt or did you buy it from a retailer?
This is my hand-built devkit version.
In my tests with each 130xe everything was the same. Nothing is getting hot on the green one.
I will check voltages at the gita especially. The green 130xe is a recent buy from ebay.
Got a source for 130xe regulator?

Works perfectly. Thank you!
Glad to here it. Same for me.

HDDriver is great as well.
Though the good old ICD is fine too, but you don't have all of the partition compatibility that HDDriver has.
