Here is the patched version of spectre 2.6.5 and a bootable System 6.0.4 mac image.
The image is an ICD partition image with 1 partition. This will appear as an ACK type if you look at this in the ICDFMT program.
If you are using an ultrasatan, the image for the mac will need to be dd'ed to an SD card or if you are using an acsi2stm based unit, format the card as extfat.
Place the image named as hd0.img (that is a zero) in a folder called acsi2stm.
Run the spectre.prg program. In the HD...Devices menu, select SCSI 0 or 1 whichever has the mac image on it (on the ultra Satan the first SD is SCSI 0 and the second is SCSI 1). Spectre should see the partition and image named. Select Boot from HD and Auto Mount.
Note: This version of spectre will work on the ST running on the Mister, an ST, and an STE with TOS 1.0.4, 1.6.2 or 2.0.6.
It will NOT run under hatari due to the Mac performing a page zero write (which is 100% normal for the mac) but it kills hatari.

I do have a bootable image that can be used. It is part of an ICD based image with other ST partitions on it with my data.
I was working on stripping the ST partitions out, but have not done so yet, but perhaps I will just wipe the ST partitions for now and provide the image.Like I said, I can boot this image on the ST in Mister and my stock ST/e's. This works perfectly with the Ultra Satan or the acsi2stm, like this board I created:

Sure I can provide a zip of this special version of Spectre 2.65. I can do this later today.
It also works fine on a stock Mega ST with TOS 1.04 and 2.06 and a STE with TOS 1.62 and 2.06.

Gigastone cards work well too. I have used 8. 16, and 32's

Does anyone have the "patched" version of Spectre 3.0 that does not require the physical cartridge with the Apple Roms?
I have version 2.65 that does not require the cartridge.
I recently got Spectre 2.65 running under the Atari ST setup on Mister....So mister is running the Atari ST and the ST is running the Mac using Spectre

Nice I have the 27inch dell that works with the ST as well.
Good to know a 22inch version exists that works!

I don't think the MagiSac software will be able boot from an image on the Gotek.
It's been a while since I did an install like this on the ST. I have done the following using Spectre 128 on an ST (not sure if this is the same for the older version)
I used a real floppy disk with the MAC OS software. The floppy was in Spectre 128 (MFS on HFS) format, but contains the MAC System/Finder.
I used the ICD partitioner software to create an ACK partition type. The ST can't read this, but the MagiSac software will see this as a valid partition. Once booted from the floppy, I was able to install the System onto the partition and boot from that.

I had a similar problem with my TT recently. Try SETKBD.PRG in your auto folder. It's a reset proof clock setter and Freeware. It helped sort out my problem and will accept year 23 etc. A nice feature being that it allows you to set the date in either DMY or MDY format.
still no luck... I am seeing the year on the control panel set to 2051 when I use 2023. +28
-
I tried the y2k (installed to run before US_getclk) and it still will not set the year to 2023.
Any thoughts?

I have the following:
1040 STE with Exxos TOS 1.62 and 2.06 switcher
Ultra Satan, booting with ICD 6.55a
I can run the US_setclock for a date and time, say 2023-08-31 15:00:00
When I run US_getclock in the auto folder, I see the correct time printed on the screen so I know the device is holding and keeping time.
After booting when check the time/date the Xcontrol panel, the date and time are completely wrong.
Next I run US_getclock, the correct time is printed and when I look at the time in the Xcontrol panel I see the correct time, but the DATE is 1991.
I know there have been many discussions on Y2K/TOS roms and know a little bit about the problem with the storage of the year on the ST side.
I have tried many of these suggestions, with no luck on the magic year.
Does anyone have the magic list of items to run to, to get the ST Xcontrol panel to get the Year set correctly?
Funny thing is that I can manually set the year in the Xcontrol to 2023 and things are fine until a reboot

Same here, works fine with WinRAR, extracted one game to try (Archon) and it ran perfectly
No problems here with the files either.
Thanks

I suppose I just click “ignore” then run dd and create the img and then just add its path to Basilisk?
I would expect the mac to not understand the SD being in a format it does not understand.
I don't know how the devices are named on the Mac. On linux you can do dmesg to find the name of the SD card.
dd is performing a RAW image copy of the device. To run dd you will most likely need to sudo or run as root.
For me I would dd if=/dev/sdc of=/tmp/file.img
Once I have the file.img, I would point Basilisk at the image see what happens

What OS are you using?
The GCR SD should be able to be dd'ed from the SD card out to a file.
When working with an ultra satan SD card, I do something like the following
dd if=/dev/sdX of=disk.img
where /dev/sdX is the name of the device that holds the SD card (X is c, d, e, etc)
if = the in file
of = the out file

I have Spectre 2.65 running on an STE and Mega ST using an Ultra Satan and the acsi2stm devices using the ICD drivers without a hitch.

The Mac problem with atrfs is probably because I used FUSE 3, and I'm guessing besides path issues, Mac might have an older version of FUSE. Besides the include files, I think one function added a parameter (that I don't use), so it could probably all be handled with some ifdefs. I might be able to look into it at some point if nobody else provides patches.
These work perfectly fine on Linux!

Thanks for the fuse addition!

Good point on the usb c port. With a USB c hub attached it could have many possibilities!

- the UK patent stuff managed
- all got enought $ to invest the whole project
Waiting for more information (sent email to Larek a while ago)
Nice. Can't wait to get one of these!

I'm super inspired now. I've been building Spectre carts (which work great) but as I didn't have GCR I could never get the MacOS images onto a HHD. This is fantastic.
Anyone interested in purchasing a Sprectre cart now?
Are your Spectre carts using the Apple ROMS?

I am in too.
Will test with unocart, harmony cart, and concerto cart.

If I was super interested in investing the time I'd take the blue pill from the working card and graft it onto the not working card and see if it worked then.
I think the most likely problem area is that blue pill. With so many knock offs floating around who knows maybe I got a dud even though it passes diagnostics and seems to work?
To be honest that whole 'pill' ecosystem does itself no favours: so many variants, so much nonsense online, confusing and contradictory ways to program the thing, procedures that need specific variants of the support software to work but that's not mentioned, etc etc
Of course that could all be a 'me' problem rather than an actual problem 🤣🤣
Repeating...sorry
I have build acsi2stm's using both of these with no issues:

I just got the DB 19's back from JLC PCB.
Wow they came out really nice!

Are there any bare boards left available? I'm interested in building one of these up for my own use. If not, are the gerber files available in order to get a few boards made up?
I have SDrive-Max's that I have built up.

Glad to hear that you have a working solution now!
I have had no issues so far with the versions I built with any SD cards that I have tried. The STM32 can always be tricky
I have tested both of these and they do work fine:

Spectre Disks
in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers

The spectre program had been 'modified' to load the rom from the supplied MACIMAGE.FIL file.
