ColecoVision Posters : Opcode Game Covers
Doc4 replied to Doc4's topic in Classic Console Discussion
We've been selling a good deal of these posters already, but I wanted to bring to everyone's attention the new artwork that is about to grace the Space Invaders Poster. As the design has been modded a little, I decided to update the poster as well. I've added the Kanji and an unjustly forgotten Jess Creations logo to name a few things. Stay tuned for a new image update and let me know if you're interested in purchasing by sending an email to info@doc4design.com Thanks everyone for the support so far. -

Price Per Poster: $12.00 US Accepting check, money orders and cash ( at your own risk ) Shipping: $3.00 for flat box ( within the Domestic United States ) Shipped between two pieces of cardboard, flat. This is temporary until we can get a common International shipping fee locked down. ColecoVision Posters : Opcode Game Covers
Doc4 replied to Doc4's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have the first poster prototype ready and I've taken a shot of it to show everyone. I've decided the final product will be on semi-gloss 80lb stock at a size of 13 inches wide by 19 inches tall. This will allow the buyer to cut the poster down a little or to allow for a frame edge to overlap the poster itself and not lose any of the image. The extra border after the size increase will be 1.5 inches on all sides. The image you're seeing now is on 100lb Matte stock at 12 inches wide by 18 inches tall. The Matte finish paper just didn't have quite enough cool factor as the semi-gloss does. I'm starting with Sky Jaguar for this first run and will have a price estimate by tomorrow afternoon. I'll be taking orders after the price is online. Thanks, Dale -
I thought I would give this topic it's own section here. The deal is this, I'm planning on making posters of each game released from Opcode as tweleve ( 12 inches ) wide by eighteen ( 18 inches ) height. I'll be posting some samples online in the coming week for everyone to look at and will have a cost estimate for these soon. The original plan of producing posters at 24 x 36 inches was too costly and I can only assume that $36 per poster was a little too steep. So by reducing the poster size I can create a much more affordable product. At this point I would just like to see if anyone is interested in purchasing them. If the interest is too low, then it might not be worth the time, so tell everyone and let me know. The posters will be for: Sky Jaguar, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Magical Tree, Space Invaders Collection and possibly Pac Man Collection and Road Fighter ( pending authorization from Opcode ) Again, I'll be releasing price info and sample images online soon. Thanks

I looked into the posters and printing them at 24" x 36" is out of the question unless the three people on here who want them are willing to help foot the 2K bill needed to keep the price down. If I get 500 quantity at this size we're looking at $32 per poster! I'm looking at getting these made smaller and waiting on the quote now. Thanks for the interest.

OpCode game posters - awesome. Please put me down for a set of those. Andrew How many and which games would like? I'll set up a sample of what they would look like tomorrow.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted here. Nice work on the new forum Albert. Luc and I are currently working on getting a better print estimate and as the owner and creative director of Doc4Design I am more than comfortable talking to printers. By producing this project with an advertising firm behind it we can save a small percent off the price vs. the average Joe walking in off the street. Keep in mind that we need to maintain the use of a print shop in order to maintain the quality of these projects, there is a huge difference printing CMYK vs. Digital / Established Print Shop vs. Kinko's. The pitfalls to this have been mentioned by Luc in a previous post. Finding a printer who will print copyrighted material in a world already scared to death by the copyright infringement, is extremely difficult. So the print shop needs to be willing to help out and stay on the DL about this. We can produce a superior product here and I have been doing my best to make certain the artwork, design and layout is as top-quality as it can be but we need to keep in mind, as mentioned previously, that I do run a company and don't have the amount of time to pour into this as I used to. I really enjoy working on retro gaming projects, but they just don't cover those pesky bills very well. As far as Road Fighter is concerned, I'm working on the manual as fast as I can and hope to have that handed off soon. Just for proper credits sake and not to be rude to Eduardo, the artist for the cover of Road Fighter was Vu Ha. By the way, I'm staring at four pristine boxes and four pristine manuals of Space Invaders Collection on my desk here. If anyone is interested in buying these I could use the extra Christmas cash. I was also thinking of printing up posters of the OpCode game art completed thus far, if enough people are interested I maybe able to do a limited run of these. I hope Eduardo starts to feel better soon, so we can get this party started up again on a positive note. Talk to you guys soon.

Oh it was worth the hassle. I was actually hoping they would say something to me. At least we all know it's not easy to get kicked off eBay I relisted this thing six times. Auction's almost over which is amazing!

Well, I got a formal apology from eBay. Very strange indeed. They had this to say: Dear carminethebowler, We have returned your listing(s): 300083791846 Nintendo / Game Park: GBA / GP32 Hand Held Systems to the site, where it now appears as an ended item. All you have to do is click on the relist link located in the listing itself and it will restart. Additionally, if there were any bidders for the item(s) listed above, we have emailed each of them a copy of the following letter: "You recently had placed a bid on item number(s): 300083791846 Nintendo / Game Park: GBA / GP32 Hand Held Systems which had been removed by eBay. After review of this listing, we have found that it was removed in error. As a result, we have informed the seller that they may relist their item if they wish to do so. Please feel free to re-bid on this item under the new item number. To locate the new item number, please check the sellers list of items at: http://pages.ebay.com/search/items/search_seller.html We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused." Regards, So there it is, after about six removals and me just relisitng the item. So much for the threat of getting kicked off eBay.

Haha, it's hell or high water for me. I'm listing it again until they throw me out or the auction ends. I was doing pretty well there, 15 watchers and a bid of up to $33.00. So here is the listing again http://tinyurl.com/2y2ojo Remember I'm also including: • Smart Card 128MB ( with the latest multi-firmware ) • The starter CD contains plenty of Emulators and roughly 40 free ware games Good luck.

Wow, taken down again! That was the longest this item has made it so far. Any bets on how long it or I will last on eBay once I repost it

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=300084536886 ( link to the auction ) In case anyone is interested, I have a GP32 system with a modified GBA ( light knob attachment ) for sale on eBay. The GP32 comes with the original installation CD full of emulators and roughly 40 freeware games. I'm also including a 128MB Smart Card that I can't list on the auction. This auction has been shut down four times due to reasons of enabling users to duplicate software. I assume it was the Smart Card so I took it out of the photo. The image below is the original image pre-removed and changed for eBay's standards. If you have any questions you can post them here or email me through eBay. Anything related to the additional items included please send an email to my personal email account which you can get though eBay. Thanks, Dale
-
CV Multicarts? Why would they target those specifically, do you think it's a person trying to get more for their auction? In case anyone is wondering I'm including the SmartCard 128MB on this auction as well as a CD loaded with Emulators, roughly 40 games and other misc.
-
Nintendo? It's a legit Nintendo product. I'm not going to get much for the GBA and game by itself so I put it up with the GP32 hoping to kill two birds with one stone. I don't see what they would have an issue with me selling one of these systems and one game. Not like I'm cutting into their profit margin.
-
Well I "modified" the listing so let's see what happens now. Thanks
-
Thanks, mcgrail0007. You are the first person to give me a few legitimate reasons. I think the point has simply become that eBay is run by impersonal machines. What I really want is for them to answer my emails and say, this is not allowed here and this is not allowed here for these reasons. If they can't talk to me as a customer then what have I become to them? I'm sure they could care less if I get booted from their "circle" which I don't even think I would want to be a part of at this point anyway. I'll try taking off some of the things you and Albert have suggested. It seems that the auction has survived the night and I have no emails from them, I wonder what tiny, little, dusty cogs started squeakily spinning in their automaton heads or if they even noticed I re-listed it.

300083791846 - Nintendo / Game Park: GBA / GP32 Hand Held Systems http://tinyurl.com/2cj6yx This item has been removed four times now with no apparent reasoning behind it. Ebay claims this item enables members to duplicate copy-protected material. This is basically true of more items than I think ebay cares to take note of. Shall we start a list: VCR's, DVD Recorders, Computers, Paper and Pencil (thanks Albert) to name a few. So I've relisted this item and I'm keeping tabs on it, like a mini diary in case you're interested. I have yet to receive an email that answers my questions sent to customer service, which I'm not sure is actually manned by humans at this point. I asked why they did this and kind of let them have it a bit, I wasn't very happy. If anyone can explain why they think this auction is being removed over and over while other members enjoy the benefit of listing this perfectly harmless item, please let me know.

Finally, we have word and the name chosen was not Atari related. Sorry everyone. The good news is they loved the list of names we gave them and they are using them to name other ventures. I will let everyone know if they use one of the Atari names. The name chosen was MidPoint Executive Park. Midpoint, you think they could have at least used Midway

wow, this was weird. I really didn't have enough time to think about the design as I would have liked. But I had been thinking about the new Saw movie and thought it might be nice to turn that "A" into the "AA" mark. The hand came from watching Shaun of the dead and Night of the Living Dead too many times this year. This was also the toned down version as the second draft, which Albert didn't even see, had a lot more blood splatter on it. I was also trying with all my might during those last few minutes before it went live to get the swirls painted on the face of the puppet from Saw as the replacement for the AtariAge blue circles. I just couldn't get it to work within the time constraints. Anyway, thanks for starting a thread about this.

Well, that's me out. I must have lost the overlay when my computer crashed back in 2004. I lost a ton of stuff due to lack of backing up my drives.
