  1. I am making a new YouTube tutorial for the Soundgin and discovered that there is a POOR selection of Votrax images out there. So I made one. I'm tossing into the Public domain. Just uploaded it to Wikipedia, but I will attach it here too. Feel free to use as needed. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Votrax_SC-01.png
  2. When I created the Speakjet, the hardest part was the phoneme frequency table. It took months to tweek to get it to sound right.
  3. If it works out to be close to milliseconds, it is entirely coincidental. I am fairly certain that if it was in ms then the I would have noted that in the manual. However ... I am also working on 16/18 year old memories. I might be wrong.
  4. The two are the same internal engine. The difference lays in the interface. One is a speech synth that can do some canned sounds. One is a sound synth that can do voice.
  5. There isn't really a "measurment" for the speed command. Between each phoneme there is a transition where all the vocal parameters are shifted to their new destinations. The speed command regulates how fast that happens. But since some phonemes are further apart in values, then it really depends on which phoneme is being transitioned to which.
