The seller seems to be a regular video game vendor. Sells a lot of 90s stuff, manuals and junk. Flips home-brews. Almost no Atari 8-bit stuff. I would assume he doesn't know the market. The Powerstar seems to be the only moonshot in his store. A common (although despicable) strategy is to list items with some insane asking price with Make Offer active and then taking 10% or less of the price. It's a strategy to bilk buyers by making them feel like they got a deal, when even 10% of $9999 is insane for a utility cart and a floppy disk of no historical significance. The strategy is to go for the guys who are high end comic book collectors looking for an untapped market. This is where some of that money for super high priced graded Nintendo games came from. I just don't think there are enough uninformed well moneyed Atari 8-bit collectors joining the fray each year to support such silliness.

eBay = auction, even if it's fixed price. Auction forum = eBay. Either way, if you have a HERO patch, I'm interested.

This should be in the auctions forum. It's basically a link to someone's eBay auctions.

Just pay shipping: Two Tandy Coco sticks with problems

Thanks for your interest. I ended up selling these on eBay for $15 a few weeks back. -
I love to see Apple II stuff for sale here. The common issue with keyboard not working (assuming it's plugged in to the board) is the keyboard encoder chip. Look up what they cost or how much a replica chip costs since they are nearly proprietary. I think technically the //e chip was off the shelf, but barely anything else used them. They aren't Commodore chip expensive, but they usually run a few dozen bucks.

Thanks. I did check there, but it appears the SD card images and hard drive images are not there any more. I saw some links to that in past forum posts. If there is a total ST type file to download, that would be great. But it does have individual software downloadable in the format I want, so I will grab some of that. But not Dragon's Lair and sequels. Thanks!

Where can I find ST software in folders in FAT format, rather than .ST or .STX images? I have a nice working image on my UltraSatan with three partitions, one of which is filled up, but I'd like to add a bunch more software. It seems like all I need to do is move ST software FAT format folders onto SD card. I believe when I initially got my UltraSatan working, I used someone's excellent SD card image with loads of stuff on it. Now I'm looking for some specific titles to add to it (the Dragon's Lair and related games, for example). I've found quite a few archives with .ST and .STX disks. I've even loaded .ST disk files into Applesauce (see applesaucefdc.com and try out the MacOS only client) to export the files, but it seems that the programs aren't cracked or fully deprotected into files at least, so they can't be exported entirely. Basically I'm looking for software in hard drive installable file folders, rather than on disk images. Thanks!

The download link is broken at their webpage, but I found it on Internet Archive https://archive.org/details/SD395B_ZIP Yeah command line is an option, although I will probably discover more games to try out if I use a slick menu system. Thanks for all the recommendations! I will try them all out.

I've got some volumes on my XTIDE in a Tandy 1000 with thousands of files. I'm looking for a menu or shell program that works with loads of MS-DOS files. I have tried DOS Shell and maybe 5 other menu systems and they either crash under the burden, or try to read the who file system at startup, which takes a while. Then they are file limited, to maybe 256 files or something. Can anyone suggest a file/menu/shell program to use in this setup?

This thing is fun. Has anyone else messed with one? I have it working except for the arcade emulation. It never likes the ROM sets, which I downloaded and organized as directed by the FAQ. It even recognizes that I have the ROMs, but then it doesn't like them. If anyone has a ROM set that works with the current version of the PiTrex, I would be very appreciative if you could direct me to them.

Hi 7800ers! I have two units with issues. One unit is AV modded and power modded. I bought it from a member here. It works and looks great on an LCD TV. Unfortunately I want to use it on a CRT TV all my consoles are hooked up to, and it outputs blurry black and white. I'm sure it's an issue with the TV syncing, but any advice? Could it just be related to the type of AV mod used or the power mod? Unfortunately the case is epoxied together (probably because of broken posts or something), so I'll have to saw it apart, which I'm hesitant to do. The other unit I bought from a shop known to have issues. It will start-up Surround and Space Invaders (for example) without sound. It does not like a known good Stampede or Pole Position 7800 (the only cart I have for testing aside from a Concerto). Does anyone have suggestions where to start?

Rest assured that there is no point related to Amiga so simple that it is not worth pointing out to me. Consider me a noob. I've really only worked to boot games, and mostly in the past on a 500, which was relatively straightforward. I did recap this 1200, so there's that. With the ravenous community out there, there must be a list of compatible games for the 1200. I'll look into it. And I won't give up hoping someone has a disk image I can write to a CF card without sorting it all myself. I take no pleasure in setting these flash cards up I need for all of my systems, especially when they are not simply writing files to a FAT volume. Thank you for your help!

Workbench came on the CF card that is hooked up inside the computer as a hard disk and it's 40.42, Kickstart 40.48. I used two mouse button on boot to change resolution from best available to enhanced and more games will start. Sadly it was a time of off disk copy protection and I don't have manuals handy. So no Pirates for me. Some still won't start. I started down the WHDLOAD (frankly I don't completely understand what it is) path several years ago with the internal CF card and then dropped the project as it appeared complex and I got busy with other stuff. I think I also didn't want to mess up a known good CF card. I'm hoping now to do the same with the external card port on the 1200. I don't have a windows computer set up so I'd like to find an Amiga hard drive image I can write to a CF card rather than set one up using windows, an Amiga emulator and WHDLOAD or however the work flow goes. At worst I can run Parallels but I'd prefer to just get a ready made image to write. This unit is set to boot to hard drive/Workbench. When I go to the boot menu it doesn't let me change boot priority, only disable/enable. Some disks do boot though, although others refuse despite having no accessible files. Thanks for your help.

System->Preferences->Screenmode in the workbench the computer boots to. Something I need to try is to boot a different workbench version from disk. I have to dig a little to see if I have some of those disks, or write one using Applesauce if it allows. When I try to boot game disks, it always goes to workbench. Is there a key combo to get the Amiga to just boot from disk?

Hey, I have an Amiga 1200 (bought it on the forums years back). I believe it’s PAL but I have it running VGA out NTSC:High Res through an OSSC to a VGA LCD (an older Acer 4:3). I believe a while back I changed the settings to make it output NTSC, if that’s possible. I didn’t do any hardware mods to it. It looks gorgeous in the workbench with this setup. When I try to run any games on floppy, the screen goes black and the OSSC gets confused and can’t figure out the resolution, blinking between multiple resolutions. Black screen. I’ve tried setting ScreenMode to Low Res as well as DBLNTSC High Res, which does not help. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to set it up so that it will output most games to VGA, or preferably all games that work on a 1200? I’m pretty much an Amiga noob. I’ve used a 500 but that’s in storage. Thanks.

Received mine, very cool. Any case suggestion for it? Or a 3D print design I can order? -
@Stephen Moss Thanks for the very specific advice and testing points. The voltage reg pressure doesn’t help. And all the testing points tested as you described, either GND or ~12V, same as the C142. Any suggestions as to how to proceed next? In the meantime, I ordered a set of caps for the board, really just the ones around the power circuit since the ones on the left of the board are probably overkill to replace. I am fine at recapping, so I’ll at least do that when those come in.

Thanks for the help. C150 powered off resistance is 173 ohms C142 powered off resistance is 3.2 Mohms C150 powered on voltage is 1.5V C142 powered on voltage is 11.4V I have no real idea what the numbers are supposed to be, so how does that look? U38 voltages pins 3 and 15 initially measured around 2 volts. After a couple of minutes both went down to 0.1V. Many of the other pins on this chip are 11.2V. A few are near 0. I found this useful thread, but not too much else: At least now I understand that these two chips are common problems. I could easily recap the board, or even easier, the caps relevant to the power circuit. I do surface mount recaps, but not much surface mount chips. I could learn, although I would consider sending it off for replacing those chips or repair considering the value of Jags these days. Any thoughts from those who undertstand how things are supposed to work better than I do?

Has anyone figured out the best way to remove melted on styrofoam from cables and other plastic safely? I tried some isopropyl but results are mediocre.

Hello all. I’m hoping for some repair advice. My trusty Jaguar stopped working recently. I had it for a good 7 years and used it occasionally. Originally when it stopped working, the LED was blinking and weak and now doesn’t light up at all. I am testing it with two different cartridges (Tempest and JagSD). It puts out no video or sound either through the RF or via a Jag2Gen. I replaced the power switch and it behaves the same. I have tried numerous switching power supplies (all tip negative) and recently a new power supply from Best, and it behaves the same. I checked voltages coming in at the power barrel and at the power switch (12V all around). The LED gets 1.5V when the power is switched on. I didn’t recap it but the caps look good. I did clean the cartridge port repeatedly using a cartridge (clean cart, insert, clean cart, etc). I inspected the cart port and it looks ok. No bent pins or obvious damage or dirt. The board is corrosion free and I didn’t notice any damage to traces. Does anyone have any suggestions how to move forward to get this bad boy running again? Thanks!
