  1. Thanks. I've just done a "diff" comparison against the 2 Asteroid PAL roms in rom hunters v18 collection and both are different to mine All are 8kb though But Breakout also has the same issue and they are only 2kb roms EDIT: just rechecked and for Breakout Rom Hunters is 2kb and mine is 4kb! Which explains that one I guess
  2. Am I correct in thinking that when using the dumper function it's matching against some kind of in-built database via the hash to display the game details in the panel bottom right of Stella screen please? I've so far dumped 56 of my PAL cartridges (all of these were Atari brand games as I thought these most likely to be compatible with dumping) and 13 of them didn't pick up any details and just show the filename of the bin file (no year, author, brand etc.) An example is Asteroids It seems unlikely to me that nearly 25% of my cartridges wouldn't be in the database, if this is how it works, so am I likely to have bad dumps (even though they all start playing fine) please? Or am I missing something obvious please? Thanks
  3. I don't know if this information helps at all but I've had the 624mhz cube test running on my Amber R77 for 90 minutes without any issues Purchased in December, not used very much so far other than a few games of Space Invaders, from Amazon UK (it shipped from mainland Europe though)
  4. Edit: Doh. Please ignore this Was thinking 65mb wasn’t very much, but of course game images are tiny in comparison.. Hi. I've recently acquired a RetroN 77 so decided to try the community build I used dd from terminal on my Macbook to write the image to the SD card and when I plug the card into the R77 it's working fine But the partition created on the SD card is only 82mb (leaving about 65mb for games), is there some way to expand this so I can store more images in my games folder please? Thanks
  5. Space Invaders. My favourite when it first came out and still my favourite
  6. Turns out the boxes are a little larger than I was thinking, but they'll do a job until I can find something that's smaller (but larger than standard protector boxes) In the meantime I now need to hunt down a protector box each for Indy 500 and Star Raiders
  7. My copy of breakout has cx2622-P on the cart which I believe means it’s PAL
  8. Have ordered the "adult" boxes from retroprotection as these look about the right size for what I need
  9. I have box protectors for all my 2600 games from mygamevaultuk (eBay) but they are too tight for the Parker Bros 2 part game boxes I was wondering if anyone had found a box protector to fit these game boxes please? Thanks
  10. Just picked up an Atari PAL heavy sixer, serial #75100 (Excellent RF output to a flat screen TV, so won't be AV modding this unit)
  11. I did have another go at rewiring the CX80, but without any success. So just keeping it for spares. In the end I've had one (NOS) shipped from the US and it works a treat (it also means I now have a nearly mint box to keep it safe and an instruction manual) Now to look at ordering some TB cartridges from the AtariAge store, if they ship to UK
  12. Well I replaced the broken wire and up/down started working perfectly, but left/right were completely non-responsive When I looked again another couple of cables had snapped (on the left/right sensor), so I rewired all 4 of those cables and then it wouldn't work at all Another look showed more cables had snapped (despite me being as gentle/careful as possible). I guess age has got to the wires As a full time carer I don't have the time or inclination to do a full rewire of the device so it's gone in the spare parts bin (as I have a working CX22 I can use). Maybe in the future I'll give it a go if I haven't been able to find a working replacement in the meantime Thanks for the advise, at least I now know it's probably all ok apart from the cables
  13. Have managed to get better access to the underside of the circuit board after I saw in another thread that the 2 optical boards were just friction fitted The brown cable from the TB/JS switch is broken off at the circuit board! I'll assume for the moment that I didn't do that myself trying to access the switch, and will repair it and see what happens Many Thanks for the advise
  14. Have just been and checked continuity on the cables, thanks, and they seem fine However, now you mention the switch, it does feel a bit "wrong". Gritty or worn or something. Toggling doesn't seem to get it working. Have tried spraying some contact cleaner into the switch "in situ" but I think I need to extract it to take a proper look. But have no idea how to get it out (can't find a service manual) Any ideas how it comes out please? Thanks
  15. When I load the trackball detect rom it reports the CX80 is a CX22 CX22 TB rom's have a little more movement than the CX80 rom's but mainly slowly to the right where it then gets stuck, but that's about all
  16. Hi. I've just joined the forum but have been a reader for a fair while now. Decided it was time to join in. I recently obtained a boxed CX22 and a loose CX80 The CX22 had a problem in that the fire buttons didn't work, but I've managed to sort that by replacing the little fire button PCB's with ones from a donor CX24 and it works a treat with the CX22 trackball ROM's I've loaded on my Harmony cart However the CX80 trackball (fire buttons are fine) doesn't work with any of the trackball rom's. It just jiggles around a bit without doing much. I've tried all the trackball and mouse variant rom's and it's the same with all of them The odd thing is, the trackball works fine in joystick mode I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything I could try / look into please? Many Thanks
