Klax is very common for a reproduction. The game was first sold as a reproduction back in March of 2002. I actually saw and played the game at what is now known as the Midwest Gaming Classic back in June of 2002. Klax has been sold at multiple websites since 2002. The game matter of fact was sold multiple times by the same seller on Ebay.

The name sounds good to me and I like concept of the game. The NES port of Berzerk/Frenzy looks great.

Does rarity of 7800 games matter such as Super Huey, a game with a 3 in rarity? -
Yep, to both accounts.

Stupid Things You Hear Collectors Say
8th lutz replied to MotoRacer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Here is the thing thing though, some of the resellers actually are hurting the hobby. I am saying that because there are resellers did some dishonest things that are a big no-no in this hobby or any hobby for that matter. The Big no-no I am talking about is buying a reproduction of a very rare video game like Coke wins for the Atari 2600 as an example, and than sells it with the claim its not a reproduction. -
I think Grand Theft Auto 3 was a mistake of getting inducted this early. I thought Final Fantasy or Street Fighter 2 were better candidates for this class, but yet were only finalists.
-
Don't feel bad, I never heard of this game before it became a finalist . Based on what I read, It actually is a German Arcade race game that was released in 1975 and was the first 1st person racing game ever. It was designed by Reiner Foerst. I'm guessing it only was released in Germany The graphics of Nurburgring are supposedly similar to Night Driver. It's impact can't be denied though based on what I read about this obscure game because Reiner Foerst actually is the Inventor of the Night Driver concept.

Grand Theft Auto 3 being one of the 6 Inductees was a mistake to be inducted this early in the Video Game Hall of Fame's existence. I thought Street Fighter 2 and Final fantasy would have been better 2nd class inductees instead of Grand Theft Auto 3. Street Fighter 2 and Final Fantasy was among the games that I nominated for the 2nd class. I had no problems with Sonic being inducted because of the impact it had on the Sega Genesis despite the fact I didn't think it was the best Sonic game on the Genesis. Space Invaders also was a game I nominated. I recalled myself nominating other games for the 2nd class such as Defender, Adventure, Robotron: 2084, Donkey Kong, Dragon Quest, Ms.Pac-Man, Phantasy Star, Asteroids, and Pitfall!. The Nomination page for 2017 class is http://www.worldvideogamehalloffame.org/nominate

What's the best homebrew for the Atari 7800? (in the AA store)
8th lutz replied to GoldenWheels's topic in Atari 7800
Combat 1990 was never sold in the Atariage store. What I remembered was the author of the game decided to sell the game on Video 61's website and Albert didn't have Atari 7800 section in his store yet. Combat 1990 first was released on Video's 61's website before Good Deal Games sold copies of the game. Good Deal Games no longer sales copies of the game. -

The person who owns Elektronite actually is a member here on Atariage. -
I don't know how many carts were made for Ripoff, but you still can buy the game at the Atariage store. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1005

I actually thought I typed have originally. I actually didn't see that word missing from my 2 posts. Once in a while, I didn't type something that I thought I typed such as a period.

We do have a Mario like Platformer besides Scrapyard Dog. Bentley Bear: Crystal Quest. The game is completed, but it isn't on cartridge yet.
-
We already have a homebrew breakout/Arkanoid style game called Crazy Brix that is in the Atariage store. Crazy Brix is a great Breakout/Arkanoid style game.

Bubble Gyruss Gaplus Qix Rush'n Attack Bombjack Bosconian Gradius Trog Snow Brothers Super Off Road Bubble Bobble Crystal Castles Dragon Spirit Elevator Action Rolling Thunder Mappy Mr. Do Shao Lin's road Roc'n Rope Pac-Land Circus Charlie Time Pilot Twin Bee Congo Bongo Pepper 2 Bump'n Jump Road Fighter Star Castle - Yes, I know the 2600 a homebrew version. I wanted this for years as a 7800 game

While I have no plans on being a video game programmer, Arkanoid can be done on the Atari 2600 for multiple reasons as a person who has played Arkanoid. 1.) Brik for the Atari 2600 is a similar game to Arkanoid like the post above mentioned. 2.) Homebrew Atari 2600 games now are able to use special chip if needed and the rom size of a homebrew Atari 2600 game cartridge can be as big as 64k currently unlike in 2002. 3.) Homebrew Atari 2600 have went a long a way since 2002. Princess Rescue and Zippy the Porcupine was released in 2014 and 2015 in the Atariage store as scrolling platform games for the Atari 2600. Those 2 games are way more advanced than Arkanoid is.

I can't argue about the damage since I was a teenager when the 32x and the Sega CD came out. I can tell you that the 32x gave me a bitter taste in mouth as a consumer for a time. I became 32x owner back in December of 1994 due to my parents buying my younger brother and I a 32x without wanting one after turning down a SNES. Turning down a SNES was a huge mistake that I regretted as early as 1996. I did known the 32x was a mistake from the beginning unlike the Sega CD. While I didn't own a Sega CD, It made sense on why Sega did that add-on at the time although the disc technology for the drives was slow compare to future disk systems. NEC had their CD add-on for the Tg-16 and Nintendo planned a SNES Cd add-on. The problem with the Sega CD is how Sega and other developers used the hardware along for games with there not being a real graphic upgrade.

I was finishing my sophomore year year in high school when the Saturn came out in May of 1995. My younger brother and I were very aware of the Saturn and played it in the store back in 1995 playing stuff like Panzer Dragoon. We were looking forward to the Sega Saturn before the 1995 E3. The price of the Saturn was a turn off for me when it was launched. A couple other things turned my off from the Saturn besides the price. The Saturn seemed rushed to retail when I first saw it in store in terms of what games were available. I wasn't impressed with the Saturn Launch although I like Panzer Dragoon. I decided to wait on getting a Saturn to see what the N64 was offering with the hope of the Saturn getting cheaper and have more games. I got myself a Saturn much later around 2007 or 2008 and my younger brother got one in 1999 or 2000. I didn't like what I saw with N64 for a 3rd party standpoint and the cost of the games compare to the Playstation/Saturn and I settled on the Playstation. The Saturn is a great system, but you need some Japanese games to get what the Saturn was really like based on my view since A lot of great Saturn games didn't make to the states. It is a great 2d machine. While the 3d graphics weren't great now, but any video game player would say about the Playstation with its 3d graphics also.

Bob is an excellent programmer. I am saying this because I actually took a computer programming class in High School back in 1994-1995 and I know how difficult programming is due to that class. What I had to do in class difficult despite using basic for creating text programs work correctly on a Apple II computer and the difficult time I had in programming is why I don't want to program a thing and respect those who do programming. I called a Bob an excellent Programmer based on the fact he actually he got better as time went on. Bob matter of fact didn't do scrolling game right away, but did as time went by. While Bob did a great job at hacking Mrs. Pac-man into Pac-Man Collection, he went from hacking to developing games from scratch. Bob also as time went on that he can do great games that aren't Pac-Man style games from scratch also. Case in point is Bob is the first Atari 7800 programmer ever to use paddle controllers on a game and it worked great in Crazy Brix. I matter of fact got Crazy Brix in the mail last Friday. Crazy Brix to me is one of the true great Breakout or Arkanoid type games ever based on the nature of the elements in the game as you advance forward deeper in the game. Bob also did the rare accomplishment of using voice in a 7800 game without the need of using an Atari vox for Frenzy and Berzerk. What Bob did with the Atari 7800 was taking it places where it didn't go before. The 7800 myths like the 7800 can't do scrolling and that was mentioned on digital press matter of fact years ago, and Bob proved that myth was wrong. The 7800 had a tiny game library and games like Plutos and Sirius actually wasn't released on cartridge form for many years.

True, but I don't see Albert selling DK Pokey. My reasoning is Albert already had to deal with Nintendo due to Princess Rescue despite the fact DK Pokey wouldn't be getting the attention as Princess Rescue did from the video game media.

Crazy Brix. Got in the mall Yesterday from the Atariage store along with Zippy porcupine for the Atari 2600. I got hooked on Bob's game and it is one the top Atari 7800 games that I own.
-
I never knew that before. I am willing to admit that I was too rough on the developer in this case, but my belief before didn't change in terms of the game needed to be 256k on the Atari 7800. Even it the cartridge was increased to 144k, it wouldn't have been enough in this case.
