    Internet's been out here since 10am yesterday, so roughly 24 hours; looks like a fibre cut to our drop (which for reasons I don't understand is aerial, not trenched).  Not a huge deal, but hotspotting my phone is getting old.  Service window: 12pm - 4pm tomorrow.  Wouldn't particularly be bothered by this, but there's video that needs to be uploaded to work.  Starbucks is looking like my afternoon haunt.

      Seems that happened to you very recently. Is it the same company that cut it before? Good that you have a backup plan. I could really go for a flat white, but my chock full o'nuts is pretty darn good too.

    My new retro passion: adding CAT6 everywhere to the house. Ditched the old wireless router. WOW things suddenly work with a new router.

      Hardwire is the only way to go for fixed machines. I wish my firesticks had RJ-45 ports. I run a wireless mesh for outside, but all the buildings and cameras are hardwired.

      @Jess Ragan Through Prime video. Just turn on channels when they are on special only. Sometimes it's a special for one month, sometimes it's for three months. Just make sure you turn it off within the last moth of the promotion and you will get the whole month and not get charged again. Seems that the more I use only the promo periods, the more they offer them to me. I just finished 3 months of MGM+ for $0.99/month. Two months ago, I finished HBO for $5.99/month for 2 months; Showtime before that. It costs $14-16/month and I usually have one or two prime channels in addition to the regular prime content.

    Maaaan that AT-5200 controller sure is sweet. Self-centering for some games and loosey-goosey for others.

    Really enjoying missile command on my 5200 now.

      As opposed to defining constants? That's a lesson I have to hammer home often with a couple of my python students. Source code space is uber cheap now and it doesn't affect memory space used by the running program, so why would someone not want to use descriptive names for variables and constants?

      I used to be in Appalachia along the eastern-most edge of the Mississippi's tributary system, but now I'm in Virginia's tidewater region. As the name implies, it sheds water to the ocean. Wish I could help, I love Nawlins.

      I hate the idea of an ebay buyer making things difficult, they do that.

      I subscribe to office. I use it a lot and I make way more per month using it than I pay for it. When I worked at a TV studio in high school we subscribed to some CGI software and sequencing software for a few hundred per year. Meant we always had the best graphics and stood out as a local station.
