It's been an amazing couple weeks for teaching. I have a 7th grader who just made his first frame in 2600 ASM, and I have a 6th grader who successfully began a direct to Calculus path. We started with functions and limits, integrated his understanding of slope, learned binomial powers, and learned the proof for the power rule of differentiation. Only way I could be happier is if I had more students to put on these paths.

@Jess Ragan Through Prime video. Just turn on channels when they are on special only. Sometimes it's a special for one month, sometimes it's for three months. Just make sure you turn it off within the last moth of the promotion and you will get the whole month and not get charged again. Seems that the more I use only the promo periods, the more they offer them to me. I just finished 3 months of MGM+ for $0.99/month. Two months ago, I finished HBO for $5.99/month for 2 months; Showtime before that. It costs $14-16/month and I usually have one or two prime channels in addition to the regular prime content.

Got a cousin who got married. He's throwing a wedding shower after they get back from their honeymoon and they get settled. Thinking about gifting them a modded 2600, joysticks, paddles, and a rack of games.

Thinking about a 1000 in 1 cart for Sega Genesis: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C46R6MMS
Any better options?

How does one join these brotherhoods? I am rocking a 2600, a 5200, and a 7800 collection currently.

Heap buffer overflow attack vectors exist in most current chromium-based browsers. It's being patched, but be careful and look for the next update. Do not delay as this attack vector allows malicious code to be placed directly into system memory.

Due to lack of interest in last Sunday, this Sunday will be canceled.

Wonder how many of the leaving in a huff crowd will be back when they see that the sky isn't falling? Not to be antagonistic but some of these exit messages are rude. I'd be embarrassed to come back had I made such a public and dramatic act of closing a browser tab.

I hate having a common name. My digikey order just got locked up because I have a similar name to someone who is not allowed to import stuff for whatever reason. Going to have to wait until Monday to have a chance to see when they can unlock and ship my order.

Both Edge and Chrome have added ad tracking on their most recent updates. Take 2 minutes and turn them off to keep some level of privacy. Also, don't buy the hype about Brave.

Untested is the new Not Working
I can repair stuff, but I know a lot of people in retroland cannot. This is a plague on collectors.

@Zylon Yeah, that's kind of why I bought the Vader. I wanted to have a go at repairing it and selling it. Because the box, inserts, joysticks, original Pac-Man cart and pamphlet were together and in decent enough condition I decided to swallow the "loss" and keep it, annoying the wife in the process. It was actually the first time I'd bought any retro stuff in many years.

Getting ready to teach a new physics student the proof of the power rule of derivatives. Definitely one of my favorite lessons.

Digging through my pile of bulk-purchased 7800s and I found 2 that work perfectly. $16 a piece. Guess who's going to be playing the heck out of them tonight! Got some unboxing videos to do too!!!

@CaptainBreakout I sure do. Nice heat gun and soldering iron combo station, a desoldering gun with an integrated sucker, and I'm getting ready to order a heat table.

^Interesting that you say that @CaptainBreakout!
I sleep DEEPLY with Melatonin, which is why I only take 1/4 to 1/2 a tablet, otherwise I have nightmares, but yeah, the dreams are longer and more memorable I'd say under Melatonin...Do you agree?

Got a 7800 with a busted up case that appears to have a bad rf modulator. Any game loads but the image tears badly and is barely visible. Gonna recap it and composite mod it and put it in a different case. Not bad for $16 + $30 in parts.
