I'm still waiting on those SpeakerPants!

Or maybe that was just an internet rumor,...That someone or maybe me started.

Although just wearing the Speakershoes and the Speakerhat,  It would be pretty cool if you were playing the same song on both...Atari needs their own SpeakerShoes,  and then add SpeakerPants to complete the trilogy!  It'd be the Trifecta!

SpreakerPants?? Hook up a microphone for the ultimate in s**t talking.

I've got some card stock. I'll dig it out tomorrow and make one of those. Looking forward to getting the game when it hits the AA store.

It's a tankless job, but somebody's got to do it.

I have several more to fix. Will update when they are either working or declared deceased. I may have to sell off a few but I'm trying to keep as many as possible for my museum project.

So they'd be golden to just turn around and say "All developers now owe us 1 million dollars per year per game they've released. Retroactively."

Not retroactively, only if they want to continue to distribute it using the current version of unity or if they update it to versions yet unreleased, regardless of when the game itself was released.

    Sweet! I like this too.

Cool. I'll make one of those for a test run.

I'm going to try a nylon switch plate first. I think the smoother surface will take the decal better. I will also look for extra smooth metal ones.

No worries if you don't like the final product. I have many places through the house and in any of six outbuildings in which I can use them.

Yep, black metal plate. How about the attached pic? I only need one, so I’d you need to charge a bit more to make it worth your time, I’m fine with that.

I've been toying with crops and with rearranging some of the elements, but I just can't come up with anything acceptable. How about I make this on a double-gang switch plate?

There's also the option of the box art or the entire front of the arcade machine for a single plate, but that may be too tiny for good detail.

  7. I'll toy with the pic a bit and post first. I don't do this for money but thank you. It shouldn't be too much. Let me investigate and get back here tonight or tomorrow.

I think I may have to do a white metal plate and just print the black region. Just using a regular printer so no white ink. I'll hit it with some matte sealer too so they will last and can be cleaned.

Going to make a dig dug one for myself.

Got mine yesterday. Went on a spree and have Frogger and Ms. PAC-Man coming for the other 2 plates as well. Damn you BP… 🤣

Nice, I really like the arcade sign.

I also got one of these too. It's still sealed until I'm ready to install it next week, but here's the stock pic:

It's double-sided, 3D, and it lights up. I'm probably going to mod it with a uC and some LEDs, not sure though.

    Follow-up pictures when it's up.

My awesome girlfriend got both of these for me.

I think I cracked the code

Instead of complaining about them repeating inaccuracies about this game, we just start telling these journalists to "git gud"

Then watch the narrative change from "ET is the worst game ever" to "Why ET needs an easy mode"

    This

I bet Mike Toomey would take the advice and jump off the cliff in Dark Souls, then complain about it on his show.

I'd get an 800 and upgrade it with Incognito. (See my guide in my signature which compliments FJC's incognito install vids). I've done this upgrade a lot. Love it. :)

Perhaps. I like to make stuff like that myself. Maybe that means I need a third unit running incognito mode, or incognetus as Archie would say.

  11. I have a 4-channel oscilloscope and a 34-channel logic analyzer that I use for chip/bus timing analysis, clock frequency, etc. With the speeds of these older systems, you do not need to spend too much money on these. I think I spent less than $500 for the pair, but you could probably do better on ebay.

Just make sure you have at least 10 samples per clock of the fastest component, more is better. So, a 2600 would require a minimum 36MS/s. An NES would require 220MS/s. A Sega Genesis would require 54MS/s. I'm working on hardware emulation of older chips right now where I have 8 operations on the new hardware to emulate 1 operation on the old hardware, so I analyzed the bus at 8 samples per clock to get the most accurate timing that I could recreate.

You can probably find timing charts to help, but nothing beats seeing the systems tick. I've also pulled chips and built basic systems around them to run at 2Hz.

  12. I try to pay $0.75-$4 per game unless it's really special, $10-$30 for a 2600, $30-$60 for a 5200, $16-$60 for a 7800.

I'd pay no more than $185 for the lot you listed including the shipping, and I would think I didn't get the greatest deal of I did.

    I have a 400 but I need to get an 800.
